About this mod

Replaces the in game music with military style radio chatter to add immersion to your cockpit based experiences. Different versions with various options, including one that mixes MW2's music with the chatter in sort of clever ways.

Replaces all the games in mission music with military (or similar) radio chatter. From an immersion perspective it's intended to simulate you listening in to local comms traffic. As it's the music rather than a sound effect attached to a mech it can be varied and you can control the volume to your taste.

I've tried to make it so that the intensity and type of chatter fit the situation as best as possible within the limitations of my modding ability and the tools available to mod the game. The game has some logic as to what music it plays and when. That can crudely be broken down as "is it the start of a mission", "is it quiet", "is it a boss fight" or "is it a fight". So when placing the various audio files I have sourced for this I have tried to do so by adding ones where there is clearly combat taking place as combat/boss fight ones and the ones where its general military chatter, operations talk etc. as the more ambient ones. There is some bleed over, but you would expect there to be combat operations taking place in the region you are operating in that have nothing to do with you.

I've sourced the audio primarily from youtube and it's a mixture of actual real world recordings and professional recreations used as background chatter in games like COD and Halflife2.

There is a video should you wish to see an example of what it sounds like in game. The video is one mission and the way the game works is it assigns a music package (sort of like a mini predetermined playlist) to each mission, so each mission will only ever play a few audio events. The mod contains around 60 recordings, most of which are 3-5 minutes in length. I now understand why the makers of other audio and music mods always seem reluctant to make changes once they have gone live, I somewhat naively just assumed you could swap the tracks in and out.

Also added a main menu music replacer with an appropriate track by Tomothy Seals in the main version.
Version B doesnt have the music replacer.
Version C has all menu/hangar music switched off.
Version D blends music from Mechwarrior 2 and Timothy Seal's album inspired by/covering that game. Tracks are blended to ensure neither are drowned out. Around 50% of the tracks are blended tracks, meaning there wont always be music playing. The music tracks are assigned to appropriate game states with lower key tracks assigned to ambient tracks and more up-temp or intense tracks assigned to combat. They are also mixed to try and introduce the comms chatter to the music or vice versa at a good time.

My other mods:

Fully lore friendly/realistic:
NPC Pilot Update - replaces every NPC portrait in the base game + all DLCs.
Femme Fatale Portrait Pack  - Original portrait pack, 100 portraits of mixed styles.
Femme Fatale Portrait Booster Packs - 5 packs of 50 portraits in the same style as Femme Fatale.
Femme Fatale Volume 2 - 2 packs, 670 portraits in total.
Male Fatale Portrait Pack - Portrait pack for 100 male pilots.
Male Fatale Portraits Volume 2 - Portrait pack for 712 male pilots.
Ryana Plus - portrait replacer for Ryana with 20 versions to choose from.
BattleChatter - replaces the in game music with military comms chatter.

Almost lore friendly/realistic (probably showing a bit a more skin than is likely but nothing over the top):
Somewhat Raunchy Femme Fatale Portraits Second female portrait replacer, 150 portraits, these ones didn't quite make it into my lore friendly pack as they were showing a bit too much skin.
SR Femme Fatale Portrait Pack Volume 2 - Extended, newer, better version of the above (doesn't replace it, can work alongside it). 2 packs of 575 portraits, totalling 1150.

Almost lore friendly (honest) but not particularly realistic:
Temperature Management Specialist Femme Fatale Portraits - 190 female portraits. Technically there are bits of lore that suggest that pilots wore very little clothing due to heat in the cockpit.... This clearly takes that too far, pretty much all the shots are zoomed out and in skimpy armour.
Temperature Management Specialists - Version 2 of the above pack, better quality and consistency, more eclectic and colourful characters, Around 1100 portraits.
NSFW FF Portraits at MechWarrior - a couple of smallish (100-200) packs of fully NSFW portraits.

Others:
Pinup Emblems 50 pinup style patch badges/company emblems.
