    How is distance calculated? I set my new game to use 7, but no matter how far I go, my starting settler is not allowed to settle because the minimum distance is 7, and I am much further than that.

    THANK YOU very much for this. 
    I do enjoy spamming towns, but I do hate how fast the ai swarms the map.

      Yeah me too. I like 7 hexes as the setting to play personally.
