Hello, I've read the Installation paragraph and tried the two codes for each hairstyle but none of them work. Is there a tutorial or video showing how to add these hairstyle codes to Trilogy Save Editor? Thanks
First you need to look at the pictures and identify which hair you want for your character. Make note of the name, and then click "spoiler" under the "installation" paragraph in the mod description. This will give a full list of codes. Find the two codes for your hairstyle name.
Then, you need to download Trilogy Save Editor and ME3 Tweaks Mod Manager. Once this is done, drag and drop this file into the Tweaks Mod Manager. Click "Import Mod" and "Apply Mod". Then launch the game from Tweaks Mod Manager and start the game normally (create your character, choose their appearance, etc). Save the game. Then launch Trilogy Save Editor and find your game save. Once the game save is opened in Save Editor, click on "Head Morph".
Now, time for the codes. Copy and past the first code next to the hairstyle name in the box right under "RAW" (at the top of the page). Then, click on "Texture Parameters". Find the section labeled "Hair Diff" and copy/paste the second code into the "value" section (under "key"). There is a picture that shows this when you cycle through the pictures for this mod. Make sure you are putting the codes into the correct lines, or your Shepard may have a green face (like mine did at first!). Save the game in Save Editor. Launch the game again and open that save file. You should have your updated hairstyle!
Let me know if any part of this is confusing, or if you have a specific question!
Thank you th3kracken for explaining what fields needed to be updated. Just started modding ME1LE and this is the first time I've used Trilogy Save Editor. Thanks for putting together and sharing the mod Marcus22Khaar.
So nice to have decent hair. Levitating looks great. Just wish we had HDT-SMP hairs in Mass Effect.
There literally is a screenshot on the image section showing you HOW and WHERE. And it's always been there. It's not my problem if people decide to blindly download mods and not spend a couple of minutes reading and looking at the documentation.
You have to be one of the rudest mod authors I've seen on here. I didn't have any problem, but your attitude towards anyone asking questions, including those that did read your instructions, is astounding. I appreciate your work, but if you don't want to deal with the public, don't go into it.
@croaton09 are you serious with me? Was the comment I replied to blunt? Yes. Was it rude? No. I reply to every issue on my mods. I go beyond the call of duty to even solve people's issues that don't have anything to do with my mods, because many times they love to blame mine for whatever reason. When I could literally reply to any of them, not my problem; I tell them which mod(s) are the issue and/or how to handle them. I literally handled an emergency patch for an user while on vacation last October because their hardware was causing them crashes with my code. I owed them 0 time of my sun tanning time, yet I was online handling in real time with a fellow Team Pyjak member how to patch the issue and deploy a solution for them while I was literally on the beach. I have pages and pages and even more pages of comments on my hair mods replying the same to every user who decides to not read and just keep blaming me for green faces or simply drop a message like OP of this thread. Are you seriously calling me one of the rudest authors in here? Thank you for your consideration for not responding with lots of care and love and empathy for all the hundreds of users who come in here asking what already was explained in the mod page OR in several comments below. Thank you for your consideration for the endless reports I receive weekly via DM of people angry claiming I made their Shepard green because they cannot read the difference between HAIR and HEAD. Thank you for your consideration for me providing aid to every issue no matter how far am I from my computer.
If anything, you're one of the rudest users I've ever had, for coming over to a random comment that has nothing to do with you, nor an issue you had, to attack me. I could be deleting your comment but decided to chose not to and leave you exposed. I could block you, but I do not believe in gating my content no matter how rude people are to me.
But let me be clear to you, I do not owe anything to anyone. This isn't a paid service and yet I still provide daily customer support and listen to every bit of feedback. I am allowed to be as blunt, annoyed and tired of repeating to people who demand a personal explanation for not spending a single minute first on reading the instructions.
I think the problem is that on the Description page under install - there is no information on where these values go. Nor is there any reference pointing to the screen shots. I think that is why people get confused. "In addition, you will need to use the Trilogy Save Editor to change your Femshep's hair. This can be done any moment and as many times as you want. You will need to input into the following codes (refer to the image section to know how each style looks):"
Perhaps add : Refer to the image section for Code install picture.
I can't seem to get the hair to load correctly. I opened TSE, opened the save file (new save), imported the head morph I wanted, then input the two codes required. One for the Hair Mesh and another under Hair_Diff under texture parameters. When I save and load into the game I get a character with a shaved head.
I installed More Hair for Femshep (ME1LE) manually by dropping the zip file into the mod manager (ME3Tweaks). I thought I followed everything exactly.
Any ideas what could cause my hair to not load in correctly? I don't use anything else that affects the character models.
Hi, so I thought this mod looked really cool in the pictures and decided to use it. I've tried a few but mainly want to use the Maggie hair. However, all of the hair looks so bad in my game compared to the pictures, like their textures look completely different. I'm gonna add some pictures and please tell me if I've done something horribly wrong or if this is just how it looks.
You're either putting on the wrong texture code, or you have not changed it from the vanilla hair textures. Each hairstyle has its own model code and texture code.
First of all, thank you (and Anto/Kittentails ofc) so much for this mod. These are by far my favorite hairstyles for MELE (North in particular).
The only nitpick I have is the long, small strand of hair that's clipping through the temple/forehead region. I hope you know what I mean.
I've been thinking of locating the file and removing the portion of hair that is clipping through the skin in that area, shortening that one strand. I can only locate HMF_HIR_North_Diff in the Texture Manager however and have absolutely no clue where this strand even is. Is that even the right file or do I have to look for the MDL or something completely different?
And in general, is this a viable approach at all? I'm a total noob when it comes to modding and thought I'd at least ask. Thanks in advance
I honestly do not recall how the UV of these textures work, but I assume several parts are reused. I would advise you to edit the model itself instead. You'd need to extract the desired hairstyle from my package and edit it on Blender or similar 3D software before reimporting it again into your game.
This is not exactly the tutorial you are looking for, but it should give you some guidance into what tools and things you are looking for: How to port a hairstyle from the Sims 4.
I cannot change the hair colour no matter what I do, HED_Hair_Colour_Vector doesn't work at all, the hair is jet black. Help would be much appreciated! TT
To change hair colour. Do this, as I tested most stuff in TSE.
Step.1 - Open TSE then open your save file that you wish to edit your hair colour on. Step.2 - Go to Head Morph. Step.3 - Open the Vector Parameters menu. Step.4 - Find the section saying HED_Hair_Colour_Vector for hair colour or EYE_Iris_Colour_Vector for iris colour. Step.5 - In the bars here you want to look for the RGB panel. And look at the little square with color on it that says value. Now click the value and when you do a new smaller window pops up that will let you change colour. Drag around the little circle and both the line bottom and the bigger one with colours. Don't worry about the HEX code or anything as you don't need it. Once you have the colour of choosing. Then click outside this window, so it closes and make sure you see it changes a colour on the Square window next to Value. After that you can choose this next last bar line thats says "A" next to Square window. 1 means dark. 0 means bright. That is optional but you will have to experiment on that to find your eye/hair color. Step.6 - Once you finish all that hit save and load game up to check it. If it applied and you are satisfied then you are done.
Hope this will help you or any others who is wondering. These steps worked for me. If this does not work for you then I am sorry, either you did something wrong or something else is causing it. Best of luck!

Thank-you for the mod.
I installed this mod, but my Femshep is still not hairy enough! What did I do wrong? It says "More hair"!I installed More Hair for Femshep (ME1LE) manually by dropping the zip file into the mod manager (ME3Tweaks).

appreciate the help. Had to check out what UV mapping is in the first place. Interesting stuff.
I think I'll look into the tutorial and give it a try this weekend.
Cheers
