I was really happy to find it and be able to skip the annoying scan, BUT... That room and the scan is not entirely pointless it serves as a loading zone between the two halves of the 2nd deck, using this mod I got stuck in the loading zone. After one of the missions that ends in a talk with Hackett I talked to Wrex and tried to go back to the main area of the deck, but after going into the scanning room I was stuck there, the green neon sign on the door would spin endlessly and the door wouldn't open. I removed the mod, went back to a previous save before I entered the scan room and went through without issue.
This was brilliant. The security scan slowdown was a ridiculous addition to the game. The whole redesign of the ship, that puts the communication room at the far back of the ship was a bad design. It should have been left in that room right behind CIC. I wish we could get the LE2 Normandy back, but this takes out the worst aspect of the redesign. Thank you.
To be fair, the Normandy was actively under reconstruction at the time. The redesign in the back with the war room and the conference room right before it was "perfect" for the purposes of the alliance. Cerberus is much more clandestine, so it makes sense why they had it the way they did. There's even an alliance form in game on why the Cerberus design in ME2 is kinda strange when you really think about it, like having the armory on the first level. But again, that's all just because Cerberus works differently, more covertly and less diplomatically, than the Alliance. The ME3 is, from what I gathered, supposed to be the best of both Cerberus and Alliance technology combined, but still under construction lol, which is why it looks the way it does. Makes sense considering they're in the middle of a galactic war.

Apparently, there is some underlying technical reason for the security scan, even if it's rather annoying to pass through.

I think this video perfectly describes my feelings about this mod.
