This mod seems to works like the old console tweek for ME1. If it's the case, people will sometimes call mshep m'dam, some lines in the romance will be unvoiced & you'll see fshep body in bed cutscene. Correct. I haven't played through the game so I don't completely know for sure but my understanding is this will be just like the old ME1 gender flag edit where the game thinks you're the opposite gender and (like the wrong model in bed cutscene) and such but that it will carry over into ME2 and ME3 as in (romanced Kadian for mShep & romanced Ashley for fShep). This is just working off my previous knowledge and it could be that things were changed or messed up. But I had to try because I wanted this as quickly as possible and if others are able to make it better and it saves them a bit of time I'm all the happier.

And ar least in ME2 & ME3 people will call you with the good gender ^^ but the letter in ME2 will say you are a woman & 2 lines will be unvoiced in ME3, one in the hospital & one in the cabin.
Also to the comments about making other people in later games romanceable to different genders- it's a lot more complicated than this is, from my understanding, and this is more of an early stopgap until someone else can really get their hands into the cut content and (likely) make this mod unnecessary on its own. and I think making a same sex mod for someone like Garrus, who was never a m/m option in the first place would be a bit more complicated.
Just saying this cause this mod author has done us all a huge favor in the first place and has already said this is what they know how to do, so they did it. Maybe they'll learn more someday, maybe not, but either way it's good to be mindful that they've given us something for free, and its the least we can do to read their descriptions (and even their replies to comments!) before right out the gate asking for something else.
Exactly! I was very happy to find the author here got this mod out so fast so we can enjoy at least this much until a mod can be made like was in the old trilogy. I know a couple of modders and they were telling me some of the specifics and why.
I just mentioned something previously about the save editor, because it also allowed me to use a custom Shep, rather than the default.
Just moved over save from ME1 with a male shep converted to female and they are refering them as HER so i am assuming that the mod does not carry over.
Well, I used the Save Editor to setup mine in ME1 - I am in ME2 now and if I remember right, the import had the right romance already checked off. I made it to Horizon and Kaidan acted accordingly as we were in a relationship in ME1, and throughout ME2 I have been recognized as male. ME1 was recognized as "ma'am, etc.," but for ME2 correct gender recognized, but also the romance as well.
Having the same issue as Darth. In ME2, with a carryover shep, my male-to-female swapped shep is being referred to as "her" so the mod didn't carryover. When I go into the editor, they're listed as "female" but in my ME1 save they're listed as "male"

Once again I'm not versed enough as to why it's not working across all games unless there are differences in the game affecting it such as Steam/Origin or Localizations for different countries. so if i romanced tali as female shep in me2 and use this mod can i romance tali in me3 as female what erors i will be getting? is it only pronouncing gonna be wrong in romance cutscenes?
Here is a guide for how to do this with the ME2 save editor. I believe the MELE save editor is similar enough that this should work. But I haven’t tested it myself. I believe if you use this to romance Garrus in ME2, ME3 will recognize the romance and you shouldn’t have to do anything else.
Just wondering, because I just want to make sure: How does this work in the other games? Will ME2 automatically read my shepard as male but still that he had a romance with Kaidan? How does it change romance and cutscenes in later games?
If it's anything like the genderswap console command from the original ME1, the Kaidan scene in ME2 will have them acknowledge their relationship. The follow-up email will still mention "woman". In ME3, in the beginning the relationship is more or less acknowledged, minus voicing in one part. Except that by the time they have their date at Apollo's they "forget" they'd ever been together. It's got its good and bad points and I did it this way until three mods came along and fixed it all entirely. Those mods have not yet been made for MELE.
hy sombody can tell how edit romance to triger . And what need edit to sucsecfull because this mod only default and not costume shepard work. And which noumber need the romance edit to triger 6 or 7 . And which plot need edit in save editor to work.
if you want a better way of doing this with custom sheps is to download the save editor. Its on nexus and will let you romance same sex characters without changing your gender. Thats the way i do it just set whoever character you want as romanced in your save editor
If it's for Kaidan or Ashley it should work when you import the save. If it's the other LI options, unfortunately, it's beyond my knowledge (I never used the other romance mods so I have no idea how they even worked in the original games) and I haven't even gotten through the first game yet of the Legendary Edition. Sorry.
When I carried my game over to ME2, my male shep that was swapped to female appearance but was still male underneath became fully female. Looking for a way around that.
I'm sorry that that happened I tried to answer a similar post above, and hope that it may help you as well in the meantime until the more advanced modders are able to get their hands on the code and cut content.
finished me1 with the mod working then i copy and pasted the mod into the me2 folder and now me2 crashes on launch not sure if i wasnt supposed to do that but its perma crashing for me now and i cant open the game.

That's a savegame editor purportedly like what we got from Gibbed. I doubt it will fix the problem of date night at Apollo's in ME3.
