The new controls are REALLY f***ed up, like, really. Fighting a treasure mole with it is an absolute nightmare, can't see what's around while driving. But the rest of the idea is awesome, it doesn't feel like a floating jelly anymore. The increased boost and the infinite lift also feel marvelous.
Thanks, but uhm well my mod does not change the controls at all... that is something they did for the legendary edition, and which can be changed in the game's options.
Do you want to feel like a mountain goat? This is how you get to feel like a mountain goat 🤣🐐
Great mod, thank you! I'm doing back to back trilogy runs (finished a pure paragon, now doing a fun paragrade run) and I used default mode for the first run and tourist for this one. I prefer tourist, because it handles better on gentle zigzags up mountains for me, whereas the default was too touchy. But that's totally just my preference. I like the versatility provided!
Thanks a lot for the feedback! Yeh, personally I use the fastest option (racer) and I couldn't do without it anymore. But I can certainly understand that some prefer the intermediate options. This is definitely a mod that does better with some options.
Yes this is because the strength of the suspension affects the bounciness of the Mako .. so reducing it to make it less bouncy has that side effect. It's a bit weird at first, but I got used to it quickly. I suspect that's why the original Mako was so bouncy (because they had to tune the suspension so that it wouldn't clip).
If you mean switching from one option of the mod to another: you simply have to re-apply the mod with mod manager and select a different option. And this can be done anytime during a playthrough, even if you have other mods (incl. textures) installed.
Was hoping for an in-game shifting, but still might be worth it. I'll try out the moderate tweak later. Is there a mod that boosts the jump height. I only know the old manual code for the 6X boost, which has to be reapplied every deployment and game reload.
In-game shifting would be difficult to achieve, but I mean you don't have to go at full speed all the time. As for the jump height boost, my mod does that a bit to compensate for the lower suspension. Might jump a bit higher than vanilla but nothing too extreme. If you want larger values you can probably modify one of the options of my mod for yourself: drop the .m3m onto mod manager, open the newly created .json with any text editor, find and edit the values corresponding to the jump boost, save and drop the .json onto mod manager to update the .m3m, then re-apply the mod.
Not sure I want to mess with the code that much. Even in the old version of ME1 I wouldn't tinker with code unless I had exact place and limits spelled out in dummy-proof form, but I appreciate the permission to poke at it. Tried default, which was itself way more than I needed. Will try tourist after. I might end up removing it if that also is overkill, but don't take that as a judgment against your mod. I like what you achieved here. Climb in particular was better, just that the speed made handling rough. Do you know of any mods that just focus on the speed boost or jump thrusters?
Unrelated: the game's default new controls makes the Mako change to align with the turret, which is nuts to anyone who understands the value of the turret in IFVs and MBTs being independent of the hull. Though, they were foresightful enough to give the option for the original turret independence of drive.
EDIT: Yeah, took it out. Even at Tourist the Mako went from spirited mare to ornery mule. But still, good mod. I'll endorse it before pulling it.
Uh? you mean further updates planned for this mod? Yes, I want to add a revert to vanilla option and another small thing (but there's an issue with the modding tools that prevent me from doing what I want, so it'll wait until then).
