About this mod

Immersive Thessia Mod realizes the full potential of one of Mass Effect 3's most iconic missions, by introducing what the original tried but failed to portray: The visuals and sound design of a city under siege, as well as a tense and action-packed tone. All of this is accomplished while remaining strictly faithful to Bioware's vision.

DESCRIPTION
"I was here years ago. To see the city burning like this is..." - Liara T'Soni

Bigger. Better. Bolder.

The re-release of Immersive Thessia Mod for the Legendary Edition doubles as both a port of the original mod and an update for the same.

ITM transforms Priority: Thessia into the memorable, action-packed and intense mission it was envisioned to be - one that showcases what a planet under Reaper attack looks like. At the same time, it maintains the authentic and Vanilla+ style of design that you've come to expect from Orikon, so you will never feel like you're playing through Thessia with a mod installed.

You have my personal guarantee for all of that.

CHANGES

Spoiler:
Show

These changes either cover the entire mission, apply to multiple areas simultaneously, or - like the new email - occur outside of the mission.

  • After you meet with the Asari Councilor, an email from Javik will arrive, where he suggests you take him along with you on Thessia.
  • Fixed what was likely an oversight from Bioware, and restored the original sky from the 2012 game.
  • Fixed an LE3 bug that caused the background to be overly blurry. However, in order to pay respect to the LE and for artistic reasons, the new blurriness settings meet halfway between the settings from the 2012 game and the remaster.
  • Certain elements, such as background particles and the vanilla Reaper, now remain loaded at all times rather than vanishing halfway through the mission.
  • Streaming changes (sample video) that make the level feel more cohesive and connected.
  • The distant environment now features new particles such as fire, smoke, and weapon tracers which gradually intensify as you progress through the level and help portray the worsening state of the planet. Pay attention to the background as you play and you might notice interesting details.
  • The distant environment now features Harvesters flying around, as well as Reapers capital ships doing some casual harvesting.
  • The distant environment now contains additional Hover Cars along the highway, which help to cover up bugged lighting spots.
  • Slowed down the speed of vanilla ambient Harvesters so that they no longer zap across the level in two seconds.
  • Added Harvester screams into the ambient audio mix.
  • Rebalanced all ambient audio, with a baseline 50% increase to most audio.
  • The vanilla Reaper will now destroy a 2nd building as originally intended, and has had his ambient laser restored alongside some animation improvements.
  • Upcoming Update: Vanilla Reaper's building destructions cause a small camera shake.
  • Tweaked some timers to increase the chance of you hearing what would otherwise be considered "rare" dialogue or voice lines. For instance, in vanilla you had to loiter in an area for an unnaturally long period to trigger additional commentary. These tweaks impact all areas in the level.
  • Minor geometry fixes
  • Miscellaneous tweaks and fixes

  • Restored missing dialogue between the Medic and the wounded soldier.
  • During the turret section, slightly increased the number of enemies.
  • During the turret section, doubled the damage done by enemies, per difficulty.
  • During the turret section, restored the mechanic where the biotic barrier gets hit with two missiles; the first one knocks Shepard away from the turret.
  • When you first approach Kurin, you're now far more likely to get hit with a knockback alongside the other NPC's when the first missile hits the barrier.
  • Fixed an LE3 Community Patch bug that resulted in an animation glitch during the shuttle landing sequence.
  • Fixed an LE3 Community Patch bug that resulted in a streaming stutter.
  • Combat music will start playing during the Bridge section.
  • Upcoming Update: The combat track that starts during the Bridge section will be a variation created by Bioware that ended up being unused.

Spoiler:
Show

  • Added more Asari corpses
  • Restored missing Ravager enemies.
  • Restored missing autosaves associated with the aforementioned Ravagers.
  • Restored missing dialogue between Javik and Liara inside the destroyed building, as well as a response from Shepard.
  • The door leading outside of the destroyed building will now wait until all dialogue has finished before it opens.

Spoiler:
Show

  • Restored the scream from Cayla's assistant when she dies.
  • Restored 2 voice lines from Specialist Cayla.
  • Specialist Cayla is now much more helpful during combat, as she fires her weapon more frequently and takes less time between shots. She was also given a 50% to trigger her vanilla combat lines, meaning she will no longer repeat them every few seconds.
  • Upcoming Update: Further improvements to Cayla's functionality.

Spoiler:
Show

  • As a result of Streaming Changes, the Outpost will be visible before you trigger the cutscene.
  • As a result of Streaming Changes, the Intro area will be visible from Tykis and onwards.
  • Added more Asari corpses around Tykis.
  • Restored a missing piece of the Gunship cutscene.
  • Upcoming Update: Restored missing enemies during the initial fight
  • A Reaper can now be seen landing during the Gunship cutscene.
  • Restored dialogue between Shepard and Liara about Ravagers.
  • The destroyed Gunship which gets taken down during the cutscene will now be visible during the cutscene itself.
  • Attempted to fix an LE3 bug where the Gunship would infinitely continue to fire in some cases, resulting in an annoying sound issue.

Spoiler:
Show

  • Added a new LookAt prompt that draws attention to the dead scientists.
  • Re-edited the audio triggers during the scene with Vendetta, in accordance with the audio rebalance mentioned in the General section.
  • Restored an unused dialogue branch during the scene with The Illusive Man, including a new dialogue wheel. Make sure you first select the Charm/Intimidate options when and if you are able to.
Kai Leng:
  • Can no longer be ragdolled using powers like Lash.
  • Slash wave now ignores cover
  • Shields have been buffed from 5000 to 35000 (it's not unbalanced, trust me), the range at which he can perform a melee attack has been increased, and the damage done by his sword has been increased.
  • Has received major improvements to his AI, and will now primarily focus attacking on Shepard.
