Love the mod, to be honest I can't remember how LE2 vanilla combat feels since I use this every time I reroll a Shep :D

I've made a french translation for my personal use available here.

Open the mod folder using ME3TMM and drop it inside (overwrite when asked). Re-apply the mod to enable the translation in game.

Much appreciated! Feel free to create an actual Translation of a mod that will be picked up by Nexus and added to the Description page (this all happens automatically)

This is such a good mod, man. I love how you redid some of the weapons sounds to sound more beefy, really nice. My only gripe with this mod so far is such a dumb one, but I don't like how the collector AR behaves like ME1 guns. It just feels good to slap reload guns, idk. Is there a way I can change that myself? It really makes me dislike the weapon. Otherwise, great mod!

Hi, yeah you can easily do that in the .ini files of the mod, I believe it's "Rounds Per Shot" or something that I changed to 0 so it's infinite. Feel free to play around with it.

      Glad you like the mod!

One of the first FPS games I played was Wolfenstein followed by DooM. While cover based shooting seemed cool and novel when Gears of War first came out, it didn't take long until I realized all it was doing was breaking up the flow of the game and stopping me in one room full of waist high cover. Mass Effect 1 was a great combo of two genres I really loved having been a fan of past Bioware games as well. It split things fairly nicely between weird nerd cRPG jank and Xbox 360 Ultra Marine Space-Shootie. Mass Effect 2 tightened up a lot of the bloat from the first game but really dumbed down other parts and made cover mechanics even more integral to the game. I was not pleased but I still played and loved the game cuz I'm just here for to punch Reapers and chat up aliens.

All that said, I love this mod. It makes a game I've played multiple times over the years feel really fresh. All of my game play styles in FPS's are I run out and duck and weave while shooting the shid out of everything. While I don't have that kind of wild freedom, this takes things in a direction I like. Vanguard feels so much nicer because I'm not getting shot by 500 geths off screen when I charge into some rando in the middle of cover. EVERYTHING hurts more so if I don't clear everyone I charge into immediately, I dead, then I can run for cover. I am having a blast with this. I'm Commander Shepard, and This Is My Favorite Store Mod on the Citadel (2nd to Miranda... Mod).

Hey, new fan of the ME series!
Saw some negative comments about ME2's combat, so decided to download this mod on a whim, since combat in the first game was my least liked aspect. ...after downloading a Gay Garrus mod. Totally wasn't the primary reason I was interested in modding, of course not...
I want to thank you for this mod, it's been amazing experiencing the game like this. Combat is very fluid, fairly balanced, and rarely feels like I'm shooting at bullet sponges.

I've been running Engineer on Veteran difficulty with my go-to weapons being - M-5 Phalanx (the single-fire pistol), and a variety of assault rifles depending on the mission. I mostly used Collector Assault Rifle, due to the infinite ammo proving useful when enemies were contesting Thermal Clips. I enjoyed the creativity of this weapon and found it a great tool to lay down suppressive fire when ordering tankier companions to advance on the frontline. For a similar reason M-96 Mattock (semi-automatic), was great for long sightlines and as a close-range armor-shredding alternative.

I was surprised when I read that crouch wasn't part of the original game. Its addition allowed way better maneuverability around the battlefield, by quicking ducking in and out of cover without the restriction of being "stuck" to the wall you were hiding behind. Sometimes it allowed abusing the third-person targeting system to shoot through a wall or doorframe, but I rarely used it.

Again, thank you for the mod. I'm always glad to see a well-developed modding community for a new IP that piques my interest!
Now, if you excuse me, I have to romance Garrus in the third game as well. Wish me luck!

Woah thank you for the feedback! I'm super glad you found the game and that I helped make it a better experience for you!

I owe a lot to Mass Effect games - they're literally the reason I became a programmer and a game developer.

While I never modded romance options in the game, I did play with both male and female Shep to experience what the game has to offer, and you damn well know who my female Shepard's love interest was.

I wish you the best of luck in the third game. Mild warning: it does get emotional at times, be prepared. And no, it's nowhere near as bad as the internet makes it out to be :)

Happy to hear a similar story! Great games are usually the reason why people get into game development. Although in my case it was mostly bad writing pissing me off that put the final nail in the coffin.

And I appreciate your good wishes. I've already started the ME3 playthrough, and the prologue hits like a truck. Sets up the narrative for the rest of the story perfectly, and I can't wait to experience it all!

Is there any way I can convince you to make an LE3 mod that makes burst fire weapons there into full auto?

It's been a while since I worked on this. I even started some work on an LE3 mod when I finished this one, but honestly it's been a long time and I've no time to invest into that project anymore.

Weapon combat in ME3 is very well done to begin with tho, it was nowhere as critical as ME2 in need of fixing. It has an order of magnitude more weapons too, so you can pick and choose around the ones you don't really like.

So yeah, sorry but I'm afraid I won't be doing the ME3 version.

mod seems noice, just managed to install it with other quintessentials imo for ME2 - yet I still feel this mod would benefit a lot from being modular, crouch seems a bit pointless in ME2 for a number of reasons, for instance, yet it forcibly kills the left control bind for something that feels a bit more like a gimmick than an actual utility.
I also find a few changes to be odd, although I haven't messed with the mod enough to know if they might or might not cause issues.

modding the combat in ME2 is a must, it's the worst of all ME games in that regard (extreme feces to be frank) - coupled with Bioware's favoritism to Consoles when it comes to UX they've basically made the controls + the combat system in ME2 are atrocious... Your mod seems to be a necessity through and through. With that in mind, having it being modular would probably make for a much better experience installing and making it compatible with other necessary mods like separating keybinds for sprint / use / cover. The most attractive to me here's the change to AI - Bioware made a lazy job on it so their "pinpoint" accuracy's just ludicrous, that part of your mod's, to me, the most important...

Thank you for the feedback - admittedly I should've made some things more modular, it was planned but it just never happened. It's been more than 2 years since I last worked on this and I don't really plan on doing more work on it, unfortunately.

Whatever, THANK YOU for these awesome mod again. I merged only VFX/SFX effects and pistols+SMG type weapon with many other combat mods manually, but without you it would be impossible. If someone (for example, me) decides to slightly rework your mod for convenience and compatibility with other mods, will it be possible to post it with your authorship indicated?

Squadmates that could only carry SMGs and Pistols (now the same slot) have been given a new appropriate weapon type.
Is this why Mordin now knows how to use a sniper rifle? Lol

Also, I use this mod and so far the Truly Unrestricted Weapons mod has been working fine. In the TUW description page, it says it wouldn't be compatible with Combat Remastered, but I'm able to see SMGs and Pistols in the single category as intended. There seems to be two categories to choose SMG/Pistol loadout now. Has the incompatibility been resolved, or am I still missing content here?

PS - I absolutely love the rebalancing you did for the weapons and combat system in LE2. THANK YOU for putting in all that time and effort to make this mod and share it with the community.

Addendum - I'm still able to use heavy weapons with this mod too. So I have six categories thanks to HUD Enhancements LE2 and Modern Weapon Pack mods.

Yes, I had to give a weapon to Mordin and figured a sniper rifle would be most "STG-like".

The compatibility with any other mods has never been looked at - it if works, it's by pure accident.

I'm super glad you like the mod. Thank you!

you mentioned that you added options to change player loadout but i don't see how to do that. i used a bonus talent to play through me1le as an adept with a sniper rifle and i don't want to give that up

nevermind i figured it out. for those of you in the future that want to add sniper rifles, assault rifles, or shotguns to your adept, vanguard, engineer, infiltrator, or sentinel go to your steam directory and follow the file structure down(or other game launcher store) for me it is \steam\steamapps\common\Mass Effect Legendary Edition\Game\ME2\BioGame\DLC\DLC_MOD_LE2CR\CookedPCConsole in there is an ini file BioGame.ini
inside BioGame.ini there are two entries for each class ignore the first one, from what i understand this is what the program references to see what the mod changed. the second entry is the one we are changing, what i did is i went to the second entry for soldier +PlayerLoadoutInfo=(ClassName=SFXPawn_PlayerSoldier,WeaponClasses=(LoadoutWeapons_AssaultRifles,LoadoutWeapons_HeavyPistols,LoadoutWeapons_SniperRifles,LoadoutWeapons_Shotguns,LoadoutWeapons_HeavyWeapons))
      and i copied the (LoadoutWeapons_AssaultRifles,LoadoutWeapons_HeavyPistols,LoadoutWeapons_SniperRifles,LoadoutWeapons_Shotguns,LoadoutWeapons_HeavyWeapons))
then i went to the second entry for adepts and pasted the copied section over the equivelent weapons loadout section in the second adept entry hope this helps
