"Streaming Overhaul", "Level of Detail", "LOD Mod".... what do any of these names actually mean?
What isit that we hyped so much?

"So what the heck happened in the original game?" Well, it's quite simple. Short explanation:

For optimization reason and due to console restrictions, each level in Mass Effect 1, 2 and 3 had to be separated into pieces. Pieces would get loaded and unloaded as you progress through the level, making sure that only your immediate area is visible. The rest of the level would be minimized as much as possible. This is also why backtracking through levels is rarely ever possible.
However, when creating levels, environment artists did not account for these separations. They're not programmers or QA testers. They were simply tasked with creating beautiful and memorable areas.
Unfortunately, as a result of these optimizations and other compromises, no player ever got to experience any level the way they were supposed to. Environment artists were never truly appreciated for their work.
This changes now, and with zero performance impact. Changes apply to every single level, during both gameplay and cutscenes, so you will get to experience your favorite moments like never before.
May be a stupid question, but the patch don't correct stuffs like get stuck in the bridge normandy, close to joker etc, or i make something bad in the mod manager?
Once more I am asking another question on my journey to make my true Mass Effect playthrough and so I was wondering if you would know any way to brute force a compatibility with you guessed it. EGM and PV. You know I like that Kirrahe scene, I gotta see that and my boi Garrus fleshed out in full casual on the Normandy. If its just not possible, well, f*#@ me Ig lol, my dreams go bye bye XD
This is the problem with the modding community - instead of modders being open (like open source) to the idea of community work, they want close the work off to other modders, going as far as not even allowing them to help.
All this does is hurt the modding community and stifle the potential. The modding community needs to embrace collaboration.
Jokes aside, I actually will restore it. I'm planning to release "Cutting Room Floor" which is gonna be an open-source project that restores cut content, and that all modders can contribute to (nobody will, let's be real, but the idea is nice).
Among other things, it will include Kirrahe, as well as the Anderson/Shepard dialogue that this Unofficial Patch has become known for and that people have been asking me to port for years.
I'm also in the process of negotiating that the fixes this Unofficial Patch contains, and that the LE3 Community Patch is missing, get ported over as part of an update for the Community Patch.
In retrospect, I should've kept the Unofficial Patch as a strictly bug fix/streaming overhaul project and put restored cut content in a separate mod. So the plan I layed out for LE3 will hopefully merge the best of both worlds.
oooo nice. May I ask, any plans on porting something like your amazing Illusive Man Confrontation mod to LE? Honestly just curious, Ik something like POEM isnt gonna be but confrontation mod is one of the things that LE 3 is missing, ofc with my all my other mods that is lol
That mod was the main contender when I was considering which mod to port. It was either that one or Immersive Thessia. At one point I considered running a Twitter poll to see which one people would prefer, but ultimately I decided to go for the more popular one which is Thessia.
Modding cutscenes is a huge pain in the ass, and FCOM is precisely that. However, even when I was making it originally, it took me like 5 days - and that's including testing and difficulty balancing. The whole mod went from conceptualization to release in a span of one week, so with the finished product already available, the porting process would be incredibly fast.
I'm not saying I'll do it. Like I said, cutscenes are just a major headache. But of all my OT3 mods that one has the highest likelihood of being ported next.
Apologies for butting into this conversation, but just wanted to ask if I am getting this right:
The next update is still going to be for the non-LE edition as well? (restored Kirrahe stuff etc.) The reason I am asking is that I am currently about to do a 2nd non-LE playthrough of ME3, so was just wondering if I should hold off on that still, haha
The next update for the Unofficial Patch? Yes, only for OT. The Kirrahe stuff you mentioned is already in the mod. In regards to restoring cut content, the next update will focus on the Galaxy Map (there's a ton of stuff there), some mechanics and sequences during N7: Cerberus Fighter Base, and voice lines during some missions. But the primary focus will be on bug fixing.
But keep in mind that the update is still ways off. Not only has it been stuck in development hell for more than a year, but I'm currently focusing on my LE work.
Truth be told, the majority of the update is actually finished, and has been for a long time. I can send you a WIP version if you want. Just remember that there will be some issues, seeing as it is a WIP version after all, but I can warn you ahead of time on what the issues are and how to avoid them.
Thank you for this awesome mod Orikon! :) Can you please update the mod with more cutscene weapons fix? Thats the only reason I keep going back to project variety over your mod?
Hello, looks really great, thank you for your hard work! Can I use my saves from previous games with this patch and your Priority Earth Overhaul Mod? Are they compatible with each other? Which languages does they support besides English?
All compatible and working with old saves, no worries.
Unofficial Patch is technically functional in all languages, I just can't guarantee that it's bug free. Apparently there's some issues with Aria's restored content. PEOM is perfectly compatible.
Hi! Sorry for my English, I use a translator. I am from Russia, and unfortunately your mod is not adapted to my native language. I would like to express my GREAT respect for UME3P and EDI. You are a glimmer of light in the dark realm of modifications for ME3 :). I really want to play with your modifications, but I do not speak English, which spoils the overall look of the game (. I wish you success and iron determination. The whole of Russia is waiting for version 1.3 :). With love.
TL;DR the only problem if you playing russian localization is dialogue wheel of Aria T'Loak it doesnt work properly so you need to switch to english to progress her quest line. Otherwise everything works just fine.

PV is a no-go. Please understand that I am not allowed to make any patches or even help users make it compatible.

Edit: Never mind, I see in a previous comment you said it's not compatible

I would be defo interested in trying out your WIP version for sure! :)
