I read the instructions, so if I installed PV and PV Extras with no Hair Changes and no Hair color together with your mod, I will only get Miranda's ME2 hairstyle but not the modified teeth and all the vanilla bug fixes?
Sorry for the EXTREMELY late reply, you most likely don't need the answer anymore, but I'll leave it for others. You cannot use PV and this mod together, Mod Manager won't even let you install it
Any chance of a version that's like the current build but without the fixed teeth? The quality is better with the fixed teeth, but I think the less-pronounced front teeth are more flattering.
Either way, thanks for making this. I love the return of ME2 hair.
Great mod. I'm just wondering, though, do you think it would be possible to make a version with just the restored teeth?
Don't get me wrong, I 100% prefer Miranda's ME2 hair to her ME3 hair (that ME3 hair is goddamn ugly), but when you port the ME2 hair to ME3, it unfortunately sticks out like a sore thumb when compared to the other hairs in ME3, due to the lower quality.
Hmm, I hadn't considered that given that my original reason to do the mod was the hair, but I'll consider it and if the effort is not too great I may give it a try ?
It's incompatible with Project Variety no? The description + ME3Tweaks say it is, but I'd love to override PV's hair with this if possible as suggested here.
Ohh, my bad, I didn't read the PV part. Yeah, it's not compatible with PV, and there are no plans for a patch given that PV has Jenya's custom mesh, which makes it less bulky while keeping the ME3 tips. This is installed by default if you don't select any hair options in the extras.
Hahaha, yup, that's what it looks like. Tbh, for the LE I'm thinking of supporting Jenya to release her version of the hair (the one included in PV) since I think that fixes the issue but has the better tips from ME3.
I too always hated her ME3 hair, this is a much needed change!
As a thought, would it be possible to have different options for her hair? There are several mods that port hair and others that change Miri's hair to ported hair but they don't give you a choice as to which ones or change them randomly and/or change her outfits too. Even having the option for Ashley's or Brook's hair would be nice. And while I'm making out a wish list, it would be nice to have some ported hair options for Jack too. As Miranda says Jack's haircut is awful and there are much better ones out there. Hair is such a big thing to mod that I'm rather surprised that there aren't hair mods for companions/npc's. oh well...
That'd be an interesting mod, but it's outside of the scope of what this one is set out to do. Perhaps in the future I could take a shot at it, but it's not in my plans right now. Have you checked Project Variety? It changes characters' hairs, but I imagine you want a bit more control though.
I'm just surprised no one has done something like that as modding 'hair' is such a big thing in a lot of games, not only for the mc but npc's too.
That's the mod I was thinking of but it also changes her clothing and changes the hair several times and changes the color too and you don't get to pick which ones or just one. Oh well...
That is true. I kept waiting for someone to fix Miranda's hair for years, but since nobody had I gave it a try xD Yeah, PV changes other things as well. Hopefully someone will pick up the idea, because it sounds good
I don't know how the hair for NPC's work but would this be at least theoretically possible:
As you probably know the Hair Mod DLC mod here ?works by the player manually changing the values for a character's HAIR_Mesh, HAIR_Diff, and HAIR_Mask and then being able to put in whatever style from the mon you want. So, could you then change those values for Miranda or Jack or whoever and then be able to use whatever hairstyle from the mod you wanted? Now I guess you'd have to do that for every appearance in the game but would that work or do the NPC's hairstyles work differently?
You can change Shepard's hair via game-save editing, however, this is not possible for NPCs, from what I understand. For them you need to replace their hair meshes in all the PCCs where they appear. A mod like what you imagine is definitely possible, but it would require manual work to adjust the hairs so they don't clip, and also changing the number of bones since different models sometimes have a different number of bones.
I figured you couldn't do NPC's hair through the save editor (although i wonder if that might work for companions) and would have to change the PCC's. Any hair has clipping problems even Brooks and Ashley's for Shepard. The DLC mod also has clipping problems and people deal with that just fine. I think it would be worth the clipping for the convenience of being able to change out the hair easily.
Thanks for letting me know. I figured that was how it worked but good to know for sure. One day I might figure out how to do that or if anyone else wants to run with it please, go right ahead. ;)
That is true, a lot of the meshes in the game clip in one way or another. The biggest work would be in adapting the meshes to a different number of bones if they differ, and then creating all the different file configurations. The mod is definitely doable. Have you got any plans for the Legendary Edition?
