Want to move around faster in Mass Effect 3?  Tired of the slow moving in dreams?  Now you can move around faster and speed up cinematics and conversations.

This is a do it yourself "mod".  Copy and paste a few lines in a file.  This edit is more involved than the other two.

This command came from Mass Effect wiki by fandom and was NOT copied from another mod if one exists.  Lots of useful info for all three games on that site.

NOTE:  The middle mouse button is assigned to 'Cover Turn' by default.  This is not used in the dreams or final scenes, so no problem using the middle mouse button for them.  You can reassign 'Cover Turn' to another key or change MiddleMouseButton to ThumbMouseButton, ThumbMouseButton2 or any other key.

You will need the Wench Coalesced editor program.  This is the only program to edit the file Coalesced.bin.

Find the file Coalesced.bin, usually found in the \Mass Effect 3\BIOGame\CookedPCConsole.  First, backup the file, in case something happens.  There is a lot of stuff in this file.

  • Look for bioinput.ini on the left side.  Don't do a search, will not be found.
  • Click the + to expand.
  • Then expand sfxgame
  • Then expand sfxgamemodedefault
  • Click on bindings
  • On the right side, click on the last blank line.  Copy and paste this line:

( Name="MiddleMouseButton", Command="PC_MoveForward | SloMo 5 | OnRelease SloMo 1" )

Then press ENTER key or click the last blank line.

If you to want to walk through lock doors and walls, copy and paste this line:

( Name="G", Command="PC_MoveForward | Ghost | OnRelease walk" )

Then press ENTER key or click the last blank line.
Then save.

To speed through cinematics when the spacebar or escape does not skip them,
  • on the left side, click the + on sfxgamemodecinematic to expand.
  • Click on bindings
  • On the right side, click on the last blank line.  Copy and paste this line:

( Name="MiddleMouseButton", Command="SloMo 5 |  OnRelease SloMo 1" )

Then press ENTER key or click the last blank line.
Then save.

To speed through conversations when the spacebar does not skip them,
  • on the left side click the + on sfxgamemodeconversation to expand.
  • Then click on bindings.
  • On the right side, click on the last blank line.  Copy and paste this line:

( Name="MiddleMouseButton", Command="SloMo 5 |  OnRelease SloMo 1" )

Then press ENTER key or click the last blank line.
Then save.
The select response will still appear if speeding through conversations.

To move faster in the dreams,
  • on the left side click the + on sfxgamemodedreamsequence to expand.
  • Click on bindings
  • On the right side, click on the last blank line.  Copy and paste this line:

( Name="MiddleMouseButton", Command="PC_MoveForward | SloMo 10 | OnRelease SloMo 1" )

Then press ENTER key or click the last blank line.
Then save.

To speed through the illusive man conversations when the spacebar does not skip them,
  • on the left side click the + on sfxgamemodeillusivemanconflict to expand.
  • Then click on bindings.
  • On the right side, click on the last blank line.  Copy and paste this line:

( Name="MiddleMouseButton", Command="SloMo 5 |  OnRelease SloMo 1" )

Then press ENTER key or click the last blank line.
Then save.

To move faster when injured at the end of game,
  • on the left side click the + on sfxgamemodeinjuredshepard to expand.
  • Then click on bindings.
  • On the right side, click on the last blank line.  Copy and paste this line:

( Name="MiddleMouseButton", Command="PC_MoveForward | SloMo 10 | OnRelease SloMo 1" )

Then press ENTER key or click the last blank line.
Then save.

To speed through movies when the spacebar or escape does not skip them,
  • on the left side click the + on sfxgamemodemovie to expand.
  • Then click on bindings.
  • On the right side, click on the last blank line.  Copy and paste this line:

( Name="MiddleMouseButton", Command="SloMo 5 |  OnRelease SloMo 1" )

Then press ENTER key or click the last blank line.
Then save.

To use, just click and hold the middle mouse button and you move forward fast.  Release to stop.  Now you move at normal pace.  Squad mates can't move as fast, but they will not get lost.

If you feel Shepard is moving too fast, use a lower number for SloMo 5.  Want faster, increase the number.

I have not found any issues with other mods.

To walk through lock doors and walls, press and hold the G key to move forward and release to stop.
CAREFUL, if nothing is there, you fall off the map and die.
