When I try to install this mod, it will not let me get past the home screen where it tells me to hit start. I've tried with 2 different controllers and nothing. Am I going about this the wrong way or something?

Yeah after playing for 40 hours the notifications and the scanning minigame stopped working.
I'm not using any other mods aside the FemShep Appearance Consistency  Project.

The coalesced.ini that have been posted in here fixed the scanning but not the notifications.

Is there any way to take screenshots when using this mod? I'm playing on Steam and since the keyboard is apparently disabled the screenshot hotkey is of course not working.

for anyone having trouble starting a new game with this mod, move the contents of the "korean" folder to the "movies" folder inside the game folder, apparently this file is the intro, if you don't put it the game won't works, I put it and it worked.

    *ORIGIN INSTALLED*

For those of you who has an Xbox One controller and couldn't get past the "Press Start" screen:

    1- Open Steam
2- Add a non-steam game, the "ME2Game.exe" from the binaries folder
3- In Steam, open Big Picture Mode from the View tab
4- Go to the game in the library
    5- Select "Manage Shortcut"
    6- Select "Controller options"
7- Make sure the steam controller input drop down is NOT forced off or forced on, but Global native(XBox), if I'm not mistaken
    8- Enjoy

The on screen notifications appearing is not a texture issue. I just did a clean install with just ME2Controller and there are no on screen prompts for picking up items, gaining credits, changes in paragon and renegade points, etc.

So it's something in ME2Controller's files that is causing this. I have tested it with 1.7.2, 1.7.1 and 1.7.0 and the issue is present on all those versions.

To all those who can't get past the "press start" screen and use Steam version of the game - going to the properties of the game on Steam and setting "Steam Input Per-Game setting" to "Forced Off" fixed it for me.

This mod does NOT work at all.  I could use the touchpad on my DS4 but was unable to click on anything.  I ran ME2 through STEAM and still couldn't get it to work correctly.  Why is this mod still up if it doesn't work???

This is a long post, but trust me, if you are playing with a playstation controller, you should read this if you are experiencing crashing issues and other things.

I had issues with game crashing during settings adjustment and notifications not being displayed. After countless hours of playing around with things, I finally found out what is breaking it. If you are using DS4Windows to play with a PS4 controller, DS4Windows is what is breaking these things. I know the program is super useful, but you can actually have Steam take care of the control inputs. Here are the steps you should take.

    • follow the mod instructions for installation.
    • if DS4windows is running, turn it off.
    • in Steam, bring up big picture mode.
    • go to your library and bring up Mass Effect 2.
    • select manage game, then click on controller configuration.
    • you'll see that the controller has been pre-mapped. This would be fine, if the controller mod was not installed.
    • Re-map the controls. if you click on controller, it'll bring up remap options.

    • set the joysticks to "Joystick Move"
    • when you click on the DPAD or button config, once you select one of the buttons, you will see the variety of options to choose from. right hand side, you will see a controller. select the button from Steam's controller config to correlate with your controller.
    • repeat for the rest of buttons until all the buttons are mapped. you do not need to map the PS button or the touchpad.

That should be it. You should now have a hopefully bug free experience with your favorite playstation controller.

If you run into issues with the planet scanner not working, i found a post way back that links to an updated config file. that fixed my last issue. Here is the link. still works too.
