Running into an odd problem here; first play attempt showed Thane and Samara icons over Ilium and the planets were unlocked but Liara wouldn't have the dialogue options to start the quest. Second play attempt (new character) Thane and Samara were doable from the beginning but I'm about to do the Reaper IFF (all other Loyalty/Recruits done) and Tali still isn't unlocked as a quest to go after. Any idea what's up?
The Collector Ship will trigger (1) five missions after Horizon if (2) there are at least 8 recruited squadmates... Not true. Five missions / assignments, correct, but im pretty sure Miranda and Jakob counts too since i only recruited 7 squadmates and Collector Ship was triggered. Miranda and Jakob are not "recruited" in any way. ;p so 8 recruited squadmates is not true ;p. A more correct statement would have been : 8 squadmates total (including Miranda and Jakob) -- to avoid any confusion, or 6 recruited squadmates. I can start all over now since my plan was to upgrade before Collector ship. ;p
seriously? they're squadmates. they are on your team. like, are they unrecruited squadmates? no, clearly not that would be absurd. you can't be in the party and be unrecruited. the sentence doesn't say "if you have completed 8 recruitment missions". when recruitment missions matter i say recruitment missions. when recruited squadmates matter i say recruited squadmates.
if i had written "6 recruited squadmates" i would be getting a ton of people asking why it wasn't triggering when they had jacob and miranda + 4 others.
"total squadmates" would be fine, and i may change it whenever i next need to update the page, cus generally i do like to be helpful. but i'm gonna be honest, putting a smiley face on something doesn't stop you from sounding like a jerk. you can just say "hey i misunderstood this - i think 'total squadmates' would be clearer". you didn't need to passive aggressively blame me for having to replay a section and act condescending about how i chose to explain it.
EDIT: your other comment didn't come through before i posted this and thanks, glad you enjoyed it otherwise. still feel the above kinda stands in terms of constructive vs unconstructive criticism though.
Is there any chance we can get early legion in this mod for og mass effect 2 like in the legendary edition version? If not do you know of any mods that give legion early?
no, it's literally impossible to make. for me2, original release, we can't edit audio. we can clone complete conversations in order to borrow lines from those conversations (a very clunky solution) and that's how this was made. any new lines are complete lines that exist in other parts of the me2. but we cannot add new audio into the game. so new, spliced lines, or lines from me3 aren't possible.
the legion module relies heavily on spliced lines to explain events. the edits would be nonsensical without them. and i cannot add them to me2. period. we just don't have access to the right version of the wwise software to do it.
honestly, though, even if we did, i probably wouldn't. we don't have visualisation tools for modding mass effect. making custom cutscenes, even if i already have hte coordinates and offsets, is painstaking. i worked on the 2.0 update most evenings, for several hours, for months. rebuilding it would be quicker but still a huge undertaking. it just isn't worth it for the tiny number of people who'd use it, sorry.
if you want early access to legion and don't care about story immersion i'd recommend just using the save editor.
like a few hours? it's been down for like a day because i'm putting together a major update with a lot of documentation and media and stuff. if yo'ure that desperate for the original version it's still available on moddb.
There you go, first time doing it so if I forgot something please let me know: https://file.io/91zyh3TwL4s0 Some side notes that may help or answers for doubts that may appear: - I had Combat Evade Maneuvers installed but it was crashing the game, tried a fix and didn't help, so I just removed it and gave up. - Installed Project Variety after Early Recruitment, as recommended. Pretty much followed every single instructions in every mod I installed, I'm not that familiar with mods so I take no chances. - As I explained early, Tali recruitment missions doesn't trigger, the Far Rim isn't there. Thane and Samara are available for recruitment. All hubs are available as well.
whatever you uploaded has been deleted. but that's not what i need, i need a log+diag from mod manager which will show me exactly what you have installed and allow you to upload a save alongside it.
Yup, that explains it. Better Crew Abductions overrides the file that counts the missions. This will also prevent Horizon from triggering for you. The mods aren't compatible.
The developer of better crew abductions is aware that the mod conflicts with this one (per a conversation regarding the situation in LE and the files are the same) and that I have open permissions, so they may at some point choose to make a patch. But until then you will need to choose.
Got it, I'll choose yours, the idea of your mod alone is awesome, getting my fav team (Garrus and Tali) early will be great! I'll take Crew Abductions if they patch it some day (maybe they don't, but I can hope).
Thank you kindly for your help, sir. Already endorsed the mod.
Thanks for the great mod. This one + Trigger buttons is probably the best thing ever, Was shocked when I heard new dialogues while bringing Tali and Thane to recruit Mordin.
Yes, it is. Trigger Buttons description explains this but as it came out later I think I didn't come back and edit this page to say so as well. They are natively compatible - just install them both, there are no needed patches. Trigger Buttons will adapt to Early Recruitment and make sure the buttons appear at the right time (since ER changes when Horizon and the Collector Ship trigger).

I was asking myself is Early Recruitment and Trigger Buttons compatible?
