Is there any chance that you will recreate this mod for ME3?

She already has the same eye colour in Mass Effect 3. Do you mean the Legendary Edition?

For anyone wanting to use both this mod and ME2Recalibrated:

I just did a quick playthrough using both mods to determine which files from ME2Recalibrated's LOTSB Patch folder affect Liara's eyes. Unless I missed a scene (I don't think I did), these are the only two files that can be used without reverting Liara's eyes to be grey: BioD_Exp1Lvl2_100Carchase.pcc & BioD_Exp1Lvl4_Stage2.pcc.

Obviously you'll lose any other fixes ME2Recalibrated makes to LOTSB. Personally I can live without them. Hopefully this will be useful to someone. :)

My SAVIOR! I've wanted something like this for God knows how long! You ROCK!!! My biggest gripe with ME2Re, bless its creators, was that the Consistent Liara files changed her DLC appearance into the vanilla one, a decision I personally never understood. She looks so much better in LotSB it's not even funny... Thank you SO MUCH for this! Here's hoping you can figure out how to convert it for ME1 as well!

You are welcome, but this mod doesn't revert the changes made bu ME2Re to Liara in the DLC. Playing with both mods will make Liara having her DLC appearance on Illium, and her vanilla appearance in the DLC.

Yes, I'm aware. My point was that an option to have her DLC appearance over the vanilla one would be preferable, which we finally have with this mod.
I always play without the ME2Re's Consistent Liara files.

You can remove the Liara files? Can you specify which ones they are?

If I'm not mistaken there's a ReadMe file included in the download that points out which files to remove if you want to keep her DLC appearance intact. It's been a while since I tinkered with my installation, but I'm almost sure that you'll find the right steps there.

Edit: Apparently I was indeed mistaken. Thing is, ME2Re works only partially as DLC. Most of the files from the mod (including the ones that modify LotSB) are replacers for the vanilla ones, which means you'll have to check file integrity through Origin in order to restore her original DLC appearance. Once you do, make sure not to copy over the LotSB files from the mod that modify her appearance and codex image (their names should be really self-explanatory).

I might just cope without the LotSB fixes, though a couple of them would be nice.

which means you'll have to check file integrity through Origin in order to restore her original DLC appearance.

You don't need Origin if you use the Mod Manager and have made a backup. You can restore modified vanilla files with that program.

Alright, I'm coming in a bit late, but aside from the changes to Liara, there aren't many other changes. And I'm 70% percent certain that the only other change contained in ME2Re's LotSB-specific files is the one relating to the model ship. More specifically, the dossier changes are located in the mod's tlk file, and I'm pretty sure the quest timing change is located in the Plot Manager pcc.

But... as far as that second bit goes, I don't recall testing it, and I can't make heads or tails of pcc files, so I could easily be wrong. Confirmation from anyone who's tested it would be nice.

Is this mod compatible with ALOT and MEUITM, and if it is when would I install it please..? I would really like to use this.

    Thx...

since the mod edits .pcc files, you should install it before ALOT, not after.

It should have no problems with ALOT and MEUITM. As plaguisd07 says, install it as a normal mod, before any texture mods. Don't install anything after you have installed ALOT.

If only we could get these dark blue eyes for ME1 Liara, too.

Yeah, I thought about that, my idea was to use those eyes both for Liara and Benezia...but first I would need to understand how to import new textures in the game without replacing existing ones, which is something I don't know how to do.

The asari consort has dark blue eyes. Any chance they could be used for Liara as well? They'd be closer to these and the ME3 eyes than vanilla, at least.

That could be a "workaround", I guess that Liara and the consort share the same texture, with the only thing changing being the colour values in the material. I will think about it, although I would still prefer to import the Mass Effect 2/3 texture

So is there a way to make this compatible with Me2RE? Or is it really complicated? I didn't even realize there was a conflict. Went into the DLC and she was back to the normal face.

Technically speaking, there isn't a conflict, because I've edited different files from the ones she modified. Liara has the vanilla face in the DLC with Recalibrated installed because that's a feature of that mod. It's a bit complicated but I think I could make a patch for it in theory, the problem is that I don't have Giftfish's permission. I've asked, but I haven't got an answer. And probably I never will.

I don't know how ethic it is for me to say this, but you could try to delete the LotSB related files from the DLC_MOD_ME2Re folder, or copy and paste the vanilla DLC files over them. You would lose the edited Dossiers tho, and I don't know if there would be other ripercussions. I don't think so, but I haven't tried either.

Hmm, thats a bummer. I have seen patches made for ME2RE from other mods. Maybe the discord could have more answers, thank you for the advice though i do appreciate it

Guess it can be easily done and i unknowingly did so 2 years ago...
Back then i noticed Liara not changing after i installed Ellise's ME2 complexion tweaks but at the time i didn't realize me2re made lotsb liara look like the vanilla one >.<
To fix it at the time i unpacked the tpf containers to see what the lotsb and vanilla liara head textures were called and simply renamed one as the other and installed the loose texture so the vanilla texture looks like the lotsb version.... ASA_HED_PROLiaraSB_Diff_Stack_0x73041BF7.dds to ASA_HED_PROLiara_Diff_Stack_0x40197218.dds.

Too bad i didn't look up the names of the eye textures aswell at the time... they are still grey for me...
Anybody has those texture names by chance? :P

Vanilla Liara uses the generic EYE_Diff, while the Lair of the Shadow Broker version uses Samara's Eye texture. The colour is defined in the material, so you can't simply swap textures. It's the reason why this mod exists, you have to modify the .pcc file.

ah i see... i allready fully modded my current install though so i can't do a dlc mod at this point.
I will have a good blue liara with bad grey eyes this playthrough and downloaded your blue eyes pcc for the next install.
      thanks for the mod! \o/

I'm pretty sure you don't need permission to make a compatibility mod. Just take ME2Recalibrated's files on the topic and use them as the basis for the version that's compatible. I'd really love to see this mod working alongside it.

I can't modify files from other mods without the author's permissions. There's also the problem that Recalibrated seems to take priority regardless of the value in the Mount file, so a patch would have to replace the files inside the Recalibrated folder.

Yeah, me too. I can actually understand if people like the vanilla face because its based off Mass Effect 1, but vanilla eyes are terrible in my opinion.

Does this work with Genesis DLC installed? It modifies BioD_Nor.

I don't have the Genesis DLC, so I haven't tested it. If the DLC has a modified BioD_ProNor, I don't think they are compatible. I will add that in the disclaimer. I'll also think about getting the DLC and make a compatible version.

Edit: Added a new version compatible with Genesis.

You can merge these (possibly all of them) into a single mod using Mod Manager's alternates system.
