Is'nt ALOV better than this ? They have a higher resolution up to 4k I think and have used Gigapixel AI. I think they are about to post a newer version these days.
Works with ME2Recalibrated? I know that mod affects these files too, but only so that Illium movie shows up every time, just like Citadel/Omega/Tuchanka.
It looks as the mod uses a dll hook to hijack what video plays. If that is the case, my mod should not have compatibility issues. My mod does not change any game files, or directory structure.
To my knowledge, binkw32.dll overwrite is used mainly for bypassing DLC authentication process, so new DLCs as well as modifications to original ones can work at all. Otherwise game would reject them all as non-vanilla DLCs. Additional DLL hooks are added via ASI files, and there are next to none known ASIs for ME2. ME3 has few interesting ones though. IIRC the video streaming edits are done in Sequence Editor/Package Editor inside level's PPC file. Ofc they all finally refer to biks.
May i ask what you have changed? Both videos metrics like bitrate, resolution and fps seem to be the same. The only difference i can discern is that yours is a bit more saturated or colourful. You said yourself that the game won't render the video at higher fps or resolutions so upscaling is moot i guess. Or do you let those videos run through some AI image clean-up program that can increase the videos quality even from less than optimal quality ones?
I used AI along with after effects to clean them up. I then re encoded using a much higher bitrate than the originals. While its not going to look as good as Bioware releasing originals, the process does make videos cleaner and less jarring.
Download the video and view it against the original file. VLC player has native support for bink video. I honestly didn't expect this mod to get so much attention. I will post comparisons, and a compilation video when I finish the project.
Due to the limits of bink video 1, I am unable to to make the videos 60fps with this quality. Also it seems in my testing that the game itself is forcing video playback to 720p, so making the videos a higher definition is not possible.

Did you use Gigapixel AI or something else?
Can you make them 60fps as well?
