Mass Effect 2

This section will explain how to fix the text limit in the description box of the personalization locker yourself. For making a private compatibility patch, refer to the other section below.

Disclaimer
The following describes how to modify the files of Mass Effect 2 using Mod Development Tools. I take no responsibility for any damages that may occur in the process.

Please make a Backup of the files that are to be modified before doing so, either manually or through ME3Tweaks Mod Manager in its Backup & Restore Tab.

PROCEED AT YOUR OWN RISK

Firstly, download ME3Tweaks ME3Explorer (Stable) from the Tools Tab in Mod Manager.

Once ME3Explorer is open, go to Create Mods and open the Package Editor.
When the Package Editor is open, go to the File Tab in the top left corner and click on Open.

Via the newly opened window, navigate to "...\BioGame\CookedPC " in Mass Effect 2's Install Directory.
Usually its this path unless you changed it:

ORIGIN: C:\Program Files(x86)\Origin Games\Mass Effect 2\BioGame\CookedPC
STEAM: C:\Program Files(x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Mass Effect 2\BioGame\CookedPC

In CookedPC, look for BioD_Nor_000Cabin.pcc and open it via the Package Editor.

On the left of the Package Editor you will see a Tree View. In it, you need to look for GUI_SF_Personalization and double-click it.
Under GUI_SF_Personalization, look for Personalization(GFxMovieInfo).

This file is responsible for displaying certain elements in the Personalization Locker, including the Description.
We want to replace it with a modified version that fixes the Description Text Limit.
For that, download "Description Text Limit Fix - MANUAL MODDING ONLY" from the Mod Page's Files Tab under the Miscellaneous Section.

Once downloaded, extract the contained .swf file to an easy to reach location such as your Desktop.
Then return to the Package Editor and right-click Personalization(GFxMovieInfo), go to Import... and click on Embedded File.
Find and select the extracted .swf file.

Now, Personalization(GFxMovieInfo) should be marked yellow in the Tree View.
Go to the File Tab and click on Save.

Now you have successfully applied the fix to the personalization locker of the Normandy.

To apply it to the personalization locker at the start of the game, perform the same actions for the file BioD_ProCer_350BriefRoom.

To apply it to the personalization locker in the Shadow Broker DLC, go to:

ORIGINC:\Program Files(x86)\Origin Games\Mass Effect 2\BioGame\DLC\DLC_EXP_Part01\CookedPC
STEAM: C:\Program Files(x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Mass Effect 2\BioGame\DLC\DLC_EXP_Part01\CookedPC

In there, perform the same actions for the file BioD_Exp1Lvl5_100Stronghold.

You should now have successfully fixed the description boxes in all Personalization Lockers of Mass Effect 2.
