I haven't finished Lost Judgment yet, as I am still focused on Judgment and that version of Yagami Must Die, so any feedback is appreciated. Testing has been done mostly in the first few hours of the game and the first few bosses, so I would expect to be some inconsistent scaling for mid-late game. It shouldn't, as all games follow the same scaling formula, but definitely expect improvements once I actually get into the game.
Regardless, the game will feel challenging, but fair considering how many tool the combat offers in terms of tackling opponents. To put things into perspective, I've beaten the first boss with 6 times its normal health and damage (even though that's not the value he has in this mod), just to prove that if you understand the combat, it doesn't matter what stats the opponent has. This forces you, the player, to gain personal skill rather than stats, even though they will help. Enjoy!
There a way to make the NPCs in Premium Adventure have health pools as large as later chapter scaling? Little unfortunate that the mode seems to scale everyone down.
Yes, I seem to have overlooked premium adventure, I will update this along with some other stuff when I play the game again, which is soon. Thank you for the feedback!
No such thing as unlimited, probably too much tho. I will most likely have another look at the entire boss/mini-boss list once I get tired of LaD Gaiden and come up with a more balanced version of this mod.
Beat this with no heals/equipment on legend and I'd say it felt pretty comparable to vanilla no upgrades. Things were really hard sometimes but LJ has such diverse abilities that there were always strats to pick up and I never felt like this was unreasonably hard. As usual group fights were usually harder than bosses but that's more just a Yakuza issue in general. Good balancing, was a fun mod to play through.
That's weird, it shouldn't mess with the outfits at all, maybe there are some other conflicts between the mods, always check the load order just in case.
Thanks for this. I definitely feel like RGG makes their games way too easy, I would like some suffering too especially since this game's combat is so satisfying that it feels like such a waste fighting against such weak enemies, but maybe I'm just a masochist.
So, i wanna add my two cents as well Currently playing through legend with this mod enabled. I play without status upgrade like more health and attack strength. I never appreciated snake style more than i did with this mod. Style is overpowered.
In some multigroup boss fights the HP doesnt scale like the street fights (luckily) the way im playing im dead within a few hits or one combo. Im now in chapter 8, and just beat akutsu. I had to use everything the game gave me. From concoctions over to easy to trigger ex attacks. Over to running away to stack enemies better. I beat akutsu and his 1k goons (pun intended) with only the snake, any other style didnt work at all for me. That being said, as a casual Lost Judgement player i dont think that was all too bad :) Thanks for this mod, its really needed its what i wished the base game would be.
Thank you for the feedback and kind words, I will be making a full rebalance of this mod after I'm done with LaD Gaiden, so all comments help me get fresh perspectives on what should be changed/improved.
i know this is probably super late but street enemies' hp are way too high and you die in 3 or so hits and i am not even on legend difficulty would be nice if you could tone down their hp cause they're way too tanky and each street encounter shouldn't take 30 minutes you know? that goes double for purple enemies i keep hitting them for ages before i see the blue health bar and sometimes i don't even see it otherwise and story wise this mod is great
It's intended like that, tho it can indeed be too much. If you wish to make the encounters more manageable, you may delete the file "character_npc_soldier_encounter_power_reform" and/or "character_npc_soldier_encounter_hp_reform". These alter the damage and health of street encounters. The fights will still be hard without these files, as there are other settings that tweak overall difficulty, but not as hard.
It took me 20.2 hours to beat this mod on Legend New Game. I did not use a save file for New Game Plus. Safe to say this mod broke my sanity and I probably died over 200 times. (:

For some reason i met this guy, with the mod enabled.
He was not very tough but seemed to have unlimited health lmao
Met him in Chapter 10.
