When removing this mod hair still shows up with hats. Is there something I should be doing besides just uninstalling the mod or am I just stuck with hat hair forever?
Steam is where I got the mod from, I just figured it would be easier to get a reply here than there. I had subscribed to it on steam then unsubscribed since it also gives Father Godwin hair which just looks plain wrong. Unfortunately, the hair continues to remain. I tried reloading prior to in case it views a hair with hat as a specific item but that didn't work so instead, I deleted all the game files and revalidated in case the tables were still affected with no luck either. I also tried just tossing the hat so he couldn't put it on but the moment you switch back to Henry he magically gets his hat back along with his luscious locks. Not sure how exactly to fix this issue.
Sooo that is really, really weird. Father Godwin doesn't get hair in my game, with the mod installed. I would have been really alarmed if that had been the case. When I went through the files to see what other characters used the same mesh hiding group I changed, I only found Pisek. I will search again just in case but this is beyond strange. Feel free to send me a private message and maybe send a screenshot.
Confirmed once again on my hardcore playthrough, Godwin definitely doesn't get hair with this mod or after removing it. It has to be another mod doing it.
Updated the mod version that includes the Royal Waiter's Hat replacement (main mod version) since the original item got updated with patch 1.3. The version without the replacement was not affected by the patch, so it's still fine to use.
Like the mod description says, some of the hats don't show hair because they don't have an association with a hair mesh, and this includes a couple of the straw hats unfortunately. From what I tested, the old straw hat and narrow straw hat show hair, the wide straw hat and the straw hat with a ribbon don't.
I must admit that I never consciously noticed that those hats hide my hair. So now that it's visible, it blows my mind even more. xD Why did they do that? As far as I can see it doesn not clip unaturally, it looks absolutely normal.
I started really noticing it with the Royal Waiter mission where you have to dress up and you get a hat that really makes Henry look bald, and since then I could not unsee it. And no idea why the game does that, I wish it would just show Henry's haircut underneath but oh well!
Like I mentioned in the description, some hats have no hair mesh association in the game so no hair will show up. The way the mod works is it "unhides" these pre-existing hair meshes for the hats that do have them, which thankfully seem to be the majority. I included one hat replacement for this reason (Royal Waiter's Hat) since that one really bothered me and there is a hat with a hair mesh that looks similar. I noticed the round hats and half the straw hats also don't have hair associations in the game.
