Originally stepped away from kingdom come due to A, not reaaaly knowing how to mod properly back then. And B, not liking the idea of not being able to save freely, in case something broke, or more accurately, to save whenever I need to step away for a bit rather than at specific points. Tried one of the other mods back then, didn't work so refunded... aaaand re-purchased at a much cheaper price now.
Looked at the other versions of mods similar to this one... non vortex installs. Decided to look for alternatives cause I am lazy, and here I find something with more features, and is easier to install? Seems nice.
Hey, just wanted to say thanks for this mod. I play on my couch with the game streamed to my TV and this just makes things so much better.
I know it hasn't got the recognition it deserves but for me this is amazing. People have a tendency (myself too admittedly) of just choosing whatever is on the front page and sticking with that. I only really found this because I scrolled a few pages extra and I'm glad I did.
Nice mod! works and provides everything I'd like to have in the actual game out of the box. I mean what the f*#@ :D .. Started to play the game after it got a few years of idling in my steam lib and I was wondering why I can't save anymore....
Sure, if you want your game to lag every 5 to 10 minutes. That's why I set it to at least 30 minutes. I'm not going to explain here how to edit the UI. But I can tell you really quick how to edit the script that saves every 30 minutes. If you downloaded the mod, then you need to find the (mod.pak) file and simply open it with your WinRar or whatever. Then in there you need to find the (overlay.xml) file and open it up with any text editor.
Then you need to find this text on line 108 which is responsible for a 30 min interval: if (time['min'] == 30 or time['min'] == 0) and time['sec'] == 0 then and then you just need to change it to 10 min by replacing it with the below line of code: if (time['min'] == 10 or time['min'] == 20 or time['min'] == 30 or time['min'] == 40 or time['min'] == 50 or time['min'] == 0) and time['sec'] == 0 then where it then should save every 10 minutes instead of every 30 minutes in real life time of course. You can just save the file in text editor and WinRar will prompt you to save changes and you need to accept. Then it should work. This is the best I can do with a 5 minutes explainer.
You could also leave line 108 as is and instead make changes to line 116 which is 1 hour instead of 30 min. Then 30 min AutoSave will remain as the 30 min AutoSave while the 1 hour AutoSave option will end up as a 10 min AutoSave.
Each save feature of this mod will now come at a cost of some gold and so you're no longer be saving for free. << This is still a stupid decision imo. The decision from the devs to use Schnaps to save was stupid and now the decision to let it cost money is stupid imo. I as a game just want to be able to save whenever I want without any interference of the gameplay. Still appreciate your effort.
There are 2 versions of this mod. The one that saves for free and the one that cost money or Schnaps to save. Some people have requested PAID version rather than FREE. So I made both.
I tried to use the mod but it didnt work. Can not make my own saves whenever I want. I extracted the rar file into mods folder that I created at the correct location. I hit escape to save game but it just says I have no scnapps.
Greetings. Could anyone point me in the right direction to changing the default value of autosave to 30 minutes? I tried editing this line: <Inputs Name="Autosave" Value="1" /><!-- default value, but not really used --> changing the value to 2 but I don't think it works, the menu still shows me "no" at the autosave option. Is this just the menu not showing it being set as "30 mins" while the inner workings use "30 mins" or is there something else I should edit? Thank you in advance for your time.
Edit: I have also noticed the autosave feature not really working for me, I even edited the script to save every 5 minutes instead so I can test it, it doesn't do anything. I edited the following line, making it look like this in the overlay.xml file:
if (time['min'] % 5 == 0) and time['sec'] == 0 then
Any chance you could point me in the right direction?
edit 2:
The autosaves in the free version weren't working as intended so I took the gold cost version and edited it. I made myself the two options so the first one is every 5 minutes and the second every 15. Thank you for writing this wonderful mod, my guy! Had fun exploring the code a little as well!
still can't figure out how to set the default autosave setting tho
Yes, you're right. Something is broken and I'm not sure at what point it broke down. The autosave feature doesn't seem to work in the version you've mentioned. Unfortunately I'm too busy to even look into this problem. And since no one else even mentioned it here, I see no reason why I should fix it at this time.
Majority don't seem to care much for my mod. This was sort of a social experiment to see how people would react to the new features. And from what I can tell, they didn't. So the experiment failed and my mod is still behind the original simple no potion saving, only by 20-40 times. So if it's that unpopular, isn't it just a waste of time? This community is "awesome". May as well download the #1 mod, since everyone else did, right? May as well link to it. https://www.nexusmods.com/kingdomcomedeliverance/mods/1
People obviously want less features, not more. RIP common sense and logic.
I think autosaving is not working because of this: <!--============================== NEXT LEVEL MAIN MENU 3.5 [START] (2/2) ==============================--> <Edge nodeIn="2440" nodeOut="279" portIn="Start" portOut="StartAction" enabled="0" /> <Edge nodeIn="2441" nodeOut="2440" portIn="Call" portOut="Out" enabled="0" /> <!--=============================== NEXT LEVEL MAIN MENU 3.5 [END] (2/2) ===============================--> maybe it should look like this: <!--============================== NEXT LEVEL MAIN MENU 3.5 [START] (2/2) ==============================--> <Edge nodeIn="2440" nodeOut="279" portIn="Start" portOut="StartAction" enabled="1" /> <Edge nodeIn="2441" nodeOut="2440" portIn="Call" portOut="Out" enabled="1" /> <!--=============================== NEXT LEVEL MAIN MENU 3.5 [END] (2/2) ===============================-->
Thanks. Indeed it seems to be the case. I must have been in a rush at the end and mixed up some things. And comparing two versions, the working one and broken one, doesn't take all that long and so I guess I could have done that too. And since I started playing the game again, I've decided to add the fix for myself and for rest of this "awesome" community.
The only thing that I myself getting a bit annoyed about is now that time changer feature, has too many options... takes forever to switch to the day time from night time. Although it seems that the time indeed goes forward and so this may affect some quests. Therefore I guess this precision should remain for now. What do you think?
As much as I enjoy using this mod I'm wondering why it actually has never taken anything from my gold in return for saving. I just checked if I had installed the option to disable this feature, but I didn't. I'm using the main file of version 3.5 since it has been released.
EDIT: I don't know what happened. Apperantly I really didn't notice it before, even though I've kept an eye on it all the time. But now it charged me with 200 gold for saving.
Useful mod, tnx. Remember all users: when you stop time, u cannot fast travel and cant read books. Just unstop time and do what you need. Its not a bug, just good to know, because i spend a hour until undestand why i cant fast travel.
I myself haven't actually tested all of the limitations of this mod or it's full potential. So it's always nice to read what others have discovered along the way. Thx.
From what I remember the money losing happens during specific time. So if you load a save that by accident coincide with a specific time say 07:59 then in the next minute or seconds in game time, you will lose money. That is not a bug and was intentional. But you're welcome to download the mod version that doesn't have that feature activated.

Me? I might not use the extra features of this mod, but it'll be nice to have em.
