“We wear the armor of righteousness not to feel holy, but because the world is sharp and unforgiving.” - Father Godwin (I think)
Armor is cool. Armor mods are cool. PTF's are cool. So, here's some coolness without any brokenness, plus some other cool stuff.
Main Features:
- 4 standalone armor mods/sets: Templar/Teutonic; Black Knight; Gothic, and Lys (Fleur-de-lis)
- Balanced stats
- Fixes & streamlining
- Enhanced item descriptions with Yet Another Sorting Mod by Drake0713 compatibility
- Immersive world integration (treasure chests; purchasable at tailors, armorers, stables, etc) with built-in South Bohemian Trade Guild compatibility.
What does this add?
- Black Knight Armor and Sword
- Knight Great Helm and Templar Waffenrock MERGE
- Lys Waffenrock with Horse Caparison And Shield
- Sallet Frogmouth Pauldrons Bevor
What was fixed?
- Black Knight stuff: fixed armors set to female.
- Templar/Tuetonic stuff: fixed wrong clothing_raycast and mesh settings.
- Gothic stuff: reduced shininess of .mtl and reduced bright spec maps causing transparency.
- All: replaced all old/incompatible XMLs, fixed unbalanced stats, replaced improper icon/pickable item meshes, enabled "helmet vision" for all helmets, fixed grammar, generated missing mipmaps, removed unnecessary alpha maps, etc.
What was enhanced?
- Tweaked pickable_item meshes so the actual modded texture will show (where it allowed).
- All item descriptions were given more detail taking into account early 15th century history with some added flavor here and there.
- Enhanced & upscaled textures where needed using Topazlabs and GIMP.
- Gothic: color balanced frogmouth diffuse to better match set.
- Lys: Improved colors so blues are more vibrant and better match.
- Templar: Darkened the red cross for each item so they stand out more.
What was kept and discarded?
Black Knight:
- Kept: All Black Knight items - 2 helms, mail coif, mail hauberk, mail chausses, gauntlets, pauldrons, greaves, cuirass, sword.
- Removed: all "Midnight Armor" items - there's already a much more comprehensive PTF version of this HERE.
- Kept: All original contents - 2 great helms, Tuetonic Order waffenrock
- Kept: All original contents - Waffenrock, horse caparison, horse head armor
- Kept: all gold/colored variant items - 2 waffenrocks (short & long), horse caparison, shield
- Discarded: grey version (didin't like the look - the middle ages were full of color; people wore vibrant clothes whenever they could to display wealth and status).
- Kept: All original contents - sallet, frogmouth helm, heavy bevor, heavy pauldrons, besagews
Remaining Issues:
- Gothic Gear: The pauldrons will clip with other pauldrons and some breastplates due to the way the meshes were rigged. Nothing I can do about that.
- Lys Gear: The shield is a bit glossier than I'd like. If someone knows how to properly tweak ddna/gloss maps, let me know.
- Icons: The icons are vanilla - there's no way to add custom icons to the game, at least, no one's figured it out yet.
