The mod doesn't work. Opponents can still dodge, parry and still have an exaggerated combo! The worst mod for the game so far. And before anyone comes and gets upset, I ONLY HAVE THIS MOD!
It wasn't working for me but then I realized this mod is zipped differently than most every other mod on Nexus.. Usually you go into mods folder, extract here, you are good. This mod also has kingdom come deliverance/mods folders so I had to remove those and nest the mod properly, then it works.
Extract manually the "Kingdom Come Deliverance" folder in the game installation directory (Example C:\Games or C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common).

Hi, don't use Vortex, extract manually the "Kingdom Come Deliverance" folder in the game installation directory (Example C:\Games or C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common).
1.9.6 here -- I finally got it to work and here's how I did it:
1. Don't use Vortex to install the mod. According to some, the folder nesting is a bit off, so make sure you extract it, then copy the "Zeeb - Better Combat" folder into your "Kingdom Come Deliverance\Mods" folder. It should now be - "Kingdom Come Deliverance\Mods\Zeeb - Better Combat"
2. Change the name of the "Zeeb - Better Combat" folder to something without spaces. I did "zbc" The folder should now be "Kingdom Come Deliverance\Mods\zbc"
3. In your "Mods" folder, open the "mod_order.txt" file. add "zbc" or whatever you named the folder.
1.KCD doesnt have cheats which change HP,DMG or any other combat or character features. Or I dont know about them. 2. You probali dont know but in earth exist humans which want play game for story and no for stupid combat. Especialy whan game expect you spend who knows time to learn how to do it. 3. I rather make combat easy or completly make him off. Than I s#*! with somting which dont making me happy.
Right now, I'm testing the mod again, and it works perfectly. (A good way to try and see if it actually works is to do the Rattay tournament...you should be able to beat your opponents without even letting them breath!). If you're having issues at this point, the only thing I can think of is that some other mod you installed is conflicting with it, causing you issues.
Can't endorse this enough. Bought KCD soon after release, do exactly what the trainers said to do for sword fighting, only thing that worked was parry or dodge. Quickly change the guard and attack to throw them off balance? They changed their guard to perfectly parry just fast enough to parry. Randomly whip my mouse around and they are quickly following, do these combo things... always a parry. Took 10 minutes of that to get one hit in on Hans. Didn't get much further than that before giving up.
Decided to give the game another go and check what mods have come up since 2018... The mod that's going to allow me to finish the game without quitting from frustration once again is in the new this week and hot files. Thank you!
Hi, I fully understand your frustration with the combat system, which is clearly poorly designed and poorly balanced. After two years of research and experiments, thanks also to the "Better Combat" mod developed by Zeeb, I understood that the cause of all the problems were the continuous guard, blocks and dodge movements of the enemies that make fights practically endless, making you no longer want to play. In this way the more difficult fights are still fairly challenging, but they last much less, therefore much more enjoyable with all enemies, even the most fearsome ones !
Almost well designed, the constant parry and dodges ontop of Henry being slow as F to respond to commands is what ruins the combat design. If they set the enemies to choose a guard and maintain it no matter what the player does then if the player chooses one that can be parried perfectly from theirs then they parry, if the player chooses a different guard then the player gets a hit in. That would have been good, players would need to learn which guard sets up a parry from the other guards so they could get hits in while still needing to get the defense timings down.
Anywho, just rode off the map with Hans and came by to say thanks once again!
Uhh my experience is the same, the combat feels like it's entirely based on stats.. anyone with better stats is going to thrash me every time.
All the training seems to do is provide me with a bunch of abilities that don't work 99% of the time. I can barely land a hit on most enemies.. meanwhile everyone I fight has god tier defense/counter capability.
I didn't want to mod the game to make the combat easier but at this point it's more a question of "do I want to have fun playing this game?".. and well yes I do, so yes I will mod it because it just isn't fun right now having almost everyone in the game seemingly possessing God Tier sword fighting skills while Henry would probably miss his own wrists while trying to end his misery.
I think you made a mistake in naming the folder where you go to install the mods. The name you should give to the folder is "Mods". Once this is done, check if the mods work by opening the game command console.

Other mods I'm currently using:
Unlimited Saving
Lighter Potions (weight from 0.5 to 0.3)
Cheat
Ultimate Repair Kit 2.0
They all seem to work fine, and this is the only one giving me issues.
