This is a quick edit of the 'raid' events added by UWE that does 2 things :
- Revenge raids for leader murder of minor factions only trigger once
- Raids tagged 'non-player' never trigger. That is, revenge or kidnap raids that were triggered even if the player was not involved in the murder or kidnapping

WHY THIS

So, UWE

I like UWE, it's really great !
It's not perfectly to my taste though, with the biggest culprit being the endless raid mechanism...
There are so many faction that want your ass, that you regularly end up raided, but worse than that...

If you kill a minor faction's leaders, they still keep regularly gathering 100 people to throw at your defenses, even if you murder them all ? As long as the battle lasts long enough, the AI counts it as a win, and rince, repeat...

It both doesn't make much sense, and is very annoying, so I made this mod to fix it !

WHAT DOES IT DO

So with this patch installed, 'revenge' raids should only trigger once, as if you defeat that assault, I consider that the faction should be done for (UWE already works like this, if the 'Defeated [raid xxxx]' popup appears)... And if you 'lose', they break your shit or steal your base and never attack again (this is default UWE behavior), which is new.

The 'victory/defeat' trigger isn't entirely clear if the fight lasts long enough (which it may, with 100+ ennemies)... so this mod makes it inconsequential !

Another thing I've changed, is that I removed all the raid triggers tagged with 'non-player', as they apparently caused the factions to attack the player even if the player wasn't involved in the leader death/kidnapping...

HOW DO I INSTALL IT

Just download it and put it in your mod folder like any other mod.
In the load order, this ('UWE - Remove dumb revenge raids.mod') should be put somewhere below 'Universal Wasteland Expansion.mod'


I STILL GET ATTACKED REPEATEDLY

If the raid dialog says 'We have come to avenge the leader of /MYFACTION/!', either I missed something or this is one of the factions where the events are managed by multiple leader deaths, like the Order of Chitrin or the major factions (although these seem to have more custom dialog, so you'll see the difference)

If you're sure it's a bug, feel free to tell me, I'll try to take a look

If the dialog says 'We have come to gather the leader of /MYFACTION/!' then the game believes that you were involved in the leader's kidnapping, it seems to glitch sometimes but I kept it as-is for now. Go talk to a world state checker NPC at your nearest waystation to know more...

Yeah, I haven't found a way around that outside of straight-up removing the events, it's fairly annoying... If you have a clever idea, feel free to tell me.

And you're complaining ? You weirdo... I like it.
Most of the revenge raids added by UWE should try to take over your town, so the raiders should normally stay. Report the faction and raid to me and I'll look into it.
