Question, while you did state this is a collection of fixes and such the two of you have put together, does that really mean, there is no need for the other performance and optimization mods you have? Or... should we use certain ones still?
PSO is made with python script to determine best DDS format and can be slightly better in this end
Mesh updater is fully integrated into this mod, but is less invasive on files and easier to run fine by itself
Water Optimizer is render basically useless, so i just have it on steam for people who are adamant about steam only and stuffs, nexus version is unreleased because of it
Nvidia Optimization remain undefeated, this speed is insane
as for other mods: foliage, low res textures, less particles and stuffs like this, should still work to some extent
Also, it's unrelated but there was something small I was wondering regarding mods.
I've read modded content with icons overriding vanilla icons potentially do not update to the new icons in-game, so deleting the old icons in the "Kenshi/data/icons" folder is necessary. Is it fine to delete the entire "Kenshi/data/icons" folder? Will Kenshi rebuild the icons folder with the correct modded icons?
Are the screenshots with the max texture size on graphics settings? Im only asking cuz the game looks really blurry compared to my game. I remember a few years ago I pointed out all the colour artefacts in the compressed versions of textures you were working for so I am kinda sceptical :P
I would not want to ruin the artistic integrity of this game cuz its like a painting.
3rd image is from elgarl 15th? from my friend who ware running tests rest are from my game, i run high settings with FXAA, not ultra anymore since for me they does not look better enough to justify themselves
Ohhh probably why. I tested the thing and it seems ok I had one weird error but I dunno I can attribute it to this. At some point I was fighting some ninjas and if they stood in a particular spot they went invisible and could not attack but my character was still attacking them. Reloading the game fixed it though.
Just downloaded a fresh install of kenshi, Installed NVDIA Optimization, then PSO, and now trying this one and i get OgreMeshUpgrader.exe - System error
"The code execution cannot proceed because ****.dll was not found. Reinstalling the program may fix this problem."
Ok think i figured it out. I must have accidently uninstalled my Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable when i formatted my computer the other day. I reinstalled it and your mod is now able to install. sorry to bother you
I just installed PSO and Kenshi Performance Fix. I've installed Compressed Textures Projects from Steam Workshop earlier. I'm just not sure if I should let it enabled or disable it.
Another question. I saw you also made a Engine Mesh Updater mod. For stability, I thought about running that mod, PSO and Kenshi Performance Fix. I wanted to know if there's an optimal install order between those three mods.
some people say that PSO after performance fix is the best, personally i had identical performance regardless engine mesh updater is good mostly for Steam/workshop scanning variant, otherwise performance fix cover the files in kenshi installation folder
Just a note here, but it's irrelevant whether you do PSO first or second because the bat file in PerformanceFix scans for .png and not .dds. So when the :convertPNG function is called, it will find 0 files if you did PSO first, or you will replace any file touched by PerformanceFix if you do PSO second. So it's the same result either way. :-)
The real question is whether 'nvcompress' is what you used to create PSO, or if that method is different here? If the method is different, then I would be curious on file size comparisons & the potential differences in performance. Compression method is certainly something that can have a big impact.
PSO was hand made 1 by 1, i m not exactly the best programmer in the world so i learn as i go and honestly handmade is most efficient once i added scan with the script to determine format
Will i have to re-run the Fixall.bat every time i install a new mod? Also love the this an ur other mods they are complete game changers you are a god for these
The fourth is showing build mode, does it mean this mod also fixes the game crapping itself when you edit placement of objects using the developer mode(Shift-F12), mainly when directly writing in the coordinates/orientation boxes?
If I have both, windows and linux, could I run your script on the windows install, then copy the results over to the Linux install?
I saw in the bit about Linux where you said Performance Fix would break, so I wanted to see if I could work around that a bit
Edit: I was able to run it and see what was up, I think I'm good to go. Unless there's something specific to keep in mind, I see what the script is doing and can work around things well enough.
This mod...Along with PSO... I do see a bit of a performance boost in game but the difference on my hardware is insane. Before my GPU ran at 67 degrees C while playing Kenshi. Now it never gets above 50. Blessings and peace be upon you, may you enjoy ten years of inexplainable good luck!

I currently have installed in this order:
Optimization for Nvidia GPU
Kenshi CTD fix
RE_Kenshi
PSO
Performance fix (this)
Engine Mesh Updater
I see today on steam there was a minor patch
1.0.67
Added free camera mode for screenshots and videos. Toggle with ;
I'm guessing for small things like this it shouldn't be necessary? How could I tell if it is? Would I have to reinstall all the patches if I did?

Any ideas?
this software is useless from exe, you need to use installer
This error occurs when I run the fixALL.bat file in the Performancefix folder in the kenshi.exe location as instructed.
I reinstalled it and your mod is now able to install.
sorry to bother you

I will uninstall the mod from the workshop then.

Some mods might not have meshes
this is build mode not F12 mode
means i placed it all together in one shot without crash
everything pixel perfect
