    Patch 1.0.3 Out Now!




    • Redesigned the Charter UI - all the charter options now appear correctly
    • Performed an automated full quality-pass of all the changed numbers - fixed research IDs and fossil drops, etc
    • Greatly increased the amount of money available in Challenge Mode
    • Played through Medium, Hard, and Jurassic difficulties in both eras to make sure things are balanced and all gameplay is possible. Things are balanced to be very open from the get-go in Medium and Hard difficulties, and more strict in Jurassic (all starting decisions still possible, but certain options will be a lot harder to manage)
    • Added some higher-priced misc fossils to all starting digsites to make them work better for Jurassic difficulty
    • Fixed the Black Market being an almost instant expedition - this was a testing scenario that wasn't reversed before publishing!
    • Greatly increased the amount of fossils found in the Black Market (Note: the amount is still random, but it's now high pretty consistently)

    NOTES


    • JP Era Black Market fossils are "rejected" for $1,000 - this is because of an extra script that runs in JP Era. A fix is ready and will be published when we can inject excavation scripts.
    • A mysterious test dinosaur appears in the hatchery and is un-hatchable (except in Sandbox). This is because of JW Era Random Digsites causing crashes when starting a new game with Genome-less fossils. If you don't play with Random Digsites, let me know and I'll upload a version without this workaround. Do note this will crash your game if you start a new JW Era Random Digsites game, though.

    Update 1.1 Plans

    Update 1.1 will be the first major feature update. As such, I can't really tell you when to expect it - but it won't be for a while yet.
    Features currently in-development include:

    • A much deeper skin-acquisition system.
    • A much deeper botany-acquisition system.
    • Reducing the number of expeditions required to get DNA from Starter Digsites (to make them even better as your first setup).

    Possible Difficulty Curve changes if I feel it fits with the rest of the mod:

    • A less grindy, more fun and more challenging difficulty curve for Challenge Mode:
    • Economy: More income early on, less income later on. Less downtime waiting for money while getting set up, but lesser money-flooding later on in the game.
    • Diseases: Far less frequent diseases and less plague-like, ping-pong spreading across the entire park. More deadly when they happen (esp in Jurassic).
    • Tornadoes: Far less frequent, more intense tornadoes. More time to build your park without dealing with tornadoes every 5 minutes, but more engaging disasters when they do happen (esp in Jurassic).
    • Summary: Less constant grind, more engaging impact.

    Note that this is all ongoing work and planning. Some things are in waiting until certain scripts properly decompile so they can be used, others require a lot of playtesting to see if they're fun and worth including in the first place. Therefore, these changes can come in 1.1, in an update far in the future, or not at all depending on how quickly tools improve and how the changes feel in-game.

    It's a bummer that it's not used in campaign and only in challenge, since I hope it can be used in the chaos theory of JWE 2

      I'd have to re-storyboard the campaign, and rewrite the campaign script and code, and get the voice actors to re-record lines for this to work for campaign.

    What is the 'GameMain' folder inside the 'exchar' intended for?
    There is a Main.ovl file and an ExpeditiionCharter.ovl file inside of it, but I cannot figure out what to do with them or where they go.
    The install instructions say to, "drag the contents of the exchar folder into ovldata"
    The AKaiExpeditionCharter folder and the JPEOEP04Core folder go in without a hitch.
    However, when it comes to the 'GameMain' folder, it adds an ExpeditionCharter.ovl to JWE's GameMain folder and replaces JWE's Main.ovl file.
    As far as I can tell, these two files are necessary for ExpeditionCharter to work, because the game crashes without them, but with them in ovldata, the game also crashes upon launch.

    Note: the only other mods currently in ovldata atm are injected dinosaur model edits (Jurassic Park Expansion Pack, Mr Troodons Model edits, Nano's Facelift, ect.), sound edits (Mecha's Sound Modpack, etc.), and the JPEO Lite version (Ultimate Mixed Eras).
    Without the Expedition Charter folders and files placed in ovldata, the game opens without a hitch.

    The issues that I have considered are that I am using an outdated version, or a version incompatable with JPEO Lite. But having performed trial and error for over two hours, I am out of ideas.
    I'll be the first to admit that I don't understand diddly squat about modding, and if the solution is that I just didn't get it, that's best case scenario.

    ive been trying to figure out how to remove this after ive wanted to start fresh no mods, yet i cant figure out how to change the main.ovl back

      Delete your ovldata folder, redownload files from steam/epic by verifying your game cache.

      @Kaiodenic. Why Black market doesn't work and Charter does have normal fossils for me?!

    Sooo im having this little problem with expediction charter mod..
    After installing the mod and running it ( win64/olvdata and overwrote files) seemed like there where no problems but as i researched everthing somethings caught my eye... 
    1- I don't find the black market building 
    2-In expedition i dont find anymore fossil only mineral and it's impossible to continue the game like this
    Any advice?
    (I have all DLC and some mod it is a possibility that they are clashing?)

    This mod looks so great, but I have some problems. Can someone help me? I started with a clean install of JWE and Return to JP. I downloaded JP Era Overhaul 1.7.3 and moved all content of the folder "jpeo_complete" into "Win64\ovldata\" and overwrote all files. Then I downloaded Expedition Charter 1.11 and moved all content of the folder "echar" into "Win64\ovldata\"
    The DLC Return to Jurassic Park is installed. No other mods are installed.

    1.) All incubations costs are weird. Diplodocus costs the same as Struthiomimus and so on
    Struthiomimus : rating 9, costs 144k
    Stegosaurus: rating 51, costs 168k
    Styracosaurus: rating 42, costs 579k
    dont know exact values of Diplodocus but should be something like: rating 120, costs 120k
    Is this intended?

    2.) Black market doesn´t work. I can research the black market and all upgrades. I can build the building. But I don´t see anything in the Management tab. Only "0/0" and nothing else.

    Is there any chance that this mod can come for Jurassic World: Evolution 2? I just really want to play in Sandbox with expeditions and research...

      Yeah I plan on porting it eventually! But it's a big mod, I think it took me something like 4-6 months to design and implement first time around. So, I'll work on it after the other stuff in my backlog.

      That would be much appreciated. The mod seems amazing and it would probably make JWE2 a far better game. Would the mod also influence Sandbox mode (I really hope so)?

    can someone explain what the f@#k this mod does if i only use sandbox? some of troodon's mod "demand" it and i prefer sandbox over ANY other modes

      nothing... It is only designed for challenge mode, but that doesn't mean you can't play sandbox with this mod.
