OMG thank you! No more Hunchback of Hogwarts playthroughs LOL No more pre-Osteoporosis for me! I haven't run into any "glitches" that "Stand" out (pun intended) so far.
I love what this mod does, however unfortunately there are also minor bugs, for example when you catch and hold something with Accio, the character immediately sheathes wand, resulting in this weird visual glitch. Also whenever you interact with the environment like eating sweets, the animation instantly resets to default as you write in the description, however sometimes the animation doesn't even start and instead makes you bend forward.
Yeah there's nothing I can do about the second issue. It happens even without this mod being installed, so anything I do to fix it simply fails. The accio issue is one I didn't know about though. I will see if I can find a way to fix that.
I can't reproduce the problem you reported with accio. Can you give me an example of the sort of object you're accio'ing? I tried it on flying field guide pages, cubes, and enemies. They all worked fine for me.
I have a question about the mod before I take the plunge and decide to download it for my game. Am I able to download and use the mod without the BluePrint Apparate Modloader? I'd prefer not to use a mod loader at all (since I have over 10 mods and haven't had to use one yet). The fact that the mod loader is listed as a requirement is what is standing between me downloading the mod.
Thank you to the creator for all of your previous mods btw! They have transformed my gameplay experience in HL
I found this and the awesome RoR Auto Ambience mod yesterday and already love them both so much, but I wasn't able to give Perdita Stix her Invisibility Potion at the Floo Flame place. I could offer it and go through the thankful dialogue but it was as though I never gave it to her and she was still standing there asking for help afterwards (didn't get the thank-you potions in return, either, which helped me notice something was off).
To troubleshoot between the most recent changes I'd made to the game, I removed only this mod from the folder and tried again—successfully! While I had the mod disabled, I went ahead and did the Thunder Brew lady, too, just in case I'd run into the same problem (I'd done the Maxima Potion guy before I'd installed these two mods) and then reinstated the mod because I can't imagine living without it now. If it was the mod and not a coincidence, any guesses as to what could cause that?
Thanks for letting me know. I definitely had the problem you describe even without my mod installed (before I created it), and it's not clear why my mod would cause a problem like that... but I can't rule it out. This game is full of weird interactions between things that would otherwise seem to be entirely unconnected.
Okay, so it's probably a HL game glitch. But if it's not, I'll give Perdita Stix non-potions every time I see her for ever and always—Groundhog Day style—if it means I can stand up straight and keep the RoR ambience mod. What a difference your mods make!
Your mods are absolutely insane man! I'm using every single one of them and I'm having a total blast. I do have one point to make though, would it be possible to give us the option to disable the notifications for mod initialization on any of your mods? It's getting a bit annoying seeing the initialization messages whenever the game starts or when your character enters into an interior area.. I know that they are there for the user to know if the mod is actually loaded properly, but it can get distracting for those who already have figured things out.
Other than that I've got no complaints at all from any of your mods!
Thanks! Always great to hear that people are finding my mods useful. 😁
The initialization notifications only appear once for most people - the first time they add the mod to the modloader. Unfortunately whenever you fast travel the game effectively restarts, so the mod is reloaded. For the vast majority of users the notification comes and goes before the game is fully loaded, so they don't see it. But for a very small number of users the game starts running sufficiently quickly that they do see the notifications. Maybe you have a particularly fast SSD or something? Anyway it's not obvious how I might solve this, but I'll have a think...
Oh I see, this is quite interesting to know.. There are several instances that I happen across those notifications, namely when entering the Room of Requirements (which means really fast load times) or when entering caves... I do have my game on an SSD a samsung 970 evo but I wouldn't call it particularly fast, average load times vary from 10-15 secs, in any case, this "issue" isn't a dealbreaker for me but I just wanted to let you know..
Come to think of it, I could test messing around with the hud settings in game, that stuff about notifications and special messages could work..
There is no elegant way to fix this, so I'm just going to delete the notification in the next version of each mod. I just updated the Time Dilator mod so that one will no longer issue a notification. I'll update the other mods when I get the chance.
Thank you so much for this mod! I noticed this almost immediately after I first started playing, but I assumed the odds that someone would make a mod to change it was slim.
yo just a suggestion. i think year level mod will be better if it also retroactively applied like stand up straight. maybe hook a edittable numpad stroke every time stand up straight is initializing?
2 weeks late but I'll cover for them, yes that's the only real issue with Year Level mod. Breaks immersion a bit (along with the unavoidable floating items in cutscenes etc) but it's only a button press each time, so it's not terrible.
Also, this is a good mod. It was really bugging me when my hour in the character creation resulted in a hunchback.
