After using this mod or the mod merger when I start the game with the mod, it crashes before the shaders start loading! Is there a solution?I have deleted those two mods.
There are several things that can cause a crash like that, but it's definitely not caused by this mod. This mod is a stand-alone script that doesn't interact with the game in any way. The other mod can cause crashes indirectly though. If you're running a game that hasn't been patched since Feb or March 2023 then you need to be running Mod Merger v0.11.1 because v0.12 will produce a zMergedMods.pak file that's not compatible with older versions of the game. If you delete the zMergedMods.pak file and the game starts okay then that was the problem. If it still crashes then the problem lies elsewhere. Probably a corrupt shader cache.
The person below reported the same thing I noticed here, a single mod turns purple saying "failed to unpack", the others all turn normal red and green, the mod itself is "Cinematic Ultra", is this a problem?
Unsure if text in purple saying "failed to unpack" means there's something wrong with the file or something wrong with how I've put it in?? Unless everything is fine but I'm asuming not lol
It usually means you've installed Mod Merger Checker incorrectly. When you unpacked the zip file did you copy the MANIFEST folder to ~mods? It won't work without that folder...
No, that's another of my mods and it does something very different.
Some mods make changes to the game's SQL database file. This mod tells you which ones, because if you have more than one you need to merge them.
Other types of mod (appearance mods and blueprint mods) need to be assigned a pakchunk and cooked. Cooked mods are incompatible if they have the same pakchunk, so the other mod checks for that.
This is a lifesaver! I had not realised that the Percival Rackham Trial Fix had to be merged with a few other mods I had, but apparently it did. Thanks for helping me improve my game! :-)
Sounds like you need to clear your Shader Cache. A specialised HL Shader Cache Cleaner comes with Ultra Plus Realistic Lighting and Fixes as a troubleshoot. Just google Hogwarts Legacy Nexus Ultra Plus and you'll find it. Good luck!
Windows 11 will not let me copy the merger bat file or the MANIFEST folder to the ~mods folder or desktop or anywhere else. It just keeps fetching an unknown error ;(
Sorry about that. I'm not sure what's going on there. It works for some people but not others. I have uploaded a new zip file (created with a different program). This one should work for everyone.
H just wanted to point out the way I got the mod to work was just bring cmd up put cd than the location of the files press enter than instead of typing ModMergerChecker.bat I just went to the mod an clicked it an it all came up just fine. So truly on my end just needed one line for it to work. I did try typing it all out a couple times before trying this method but when typing the second line it never worked, and now I don't even need cmd to bring it up not sure if that's how it should work since I didn't see any info on those parts, but cmd is only used once on my end. I'll try to re-read the page in case all this was listed but I didn't see it before.
I designed the batch file so that it could be executed by double-clicking on it in Windows Explorer... but I never got the chance to test it so I didn't mention that option. I have now tested it and it seems to work, so I have updated the instructions. 😇
