hmmm... i can'tsee my Hud for some reason. Loaded with apparate BP loader. Or do i have to press something to open the Hud?. All other UIs from you are Working, no problem with Time, SQL Mod Menu, Enemies Extremis,
I'm not sure what you mean. Your regular game hud isnt showing? or the broom upgrade window isnt showing in your gear screen? The hud is automatically added into the broom gear screen in your inventory menu, and doesnt touch anything related to the normal game ui, so it wouldnt be causing the regular game ui to not show, and as long as the mod is loaded, it will add the window to the broom screen.
I'd make sure you have v 1.2a of the UICore as earlier versions could cause random issues :)
Yeah your broom Hud i mean :) Its not showing in the Broom Gear screen, but the Mod is displayed in the modloader. The game hud is there xD hmm. maybe i try to reaload the Mod into Apparate. Yeah got the latest UICore
Thats really strange, it sounds like the ui isnt being added into the field guide or the animation to show it isnt triggering.
The window should automatically appear when your in the broom selection page of the gear menu. It should only hide when your hovering over some broom (to display the broom info). I'd try hovering over the brooms a few times to see if it triggers the showing of the ui when you de-hover, but if the ui isnt being added then it wouldnt show then either.
Which level broom upgrade do you have?
If you go to the following directory, is there a DekBetterBroomUpgrades.sav file? (should be created after you open/close the gear menu/field guide) %appdata%\..\Local\Hogwarts Legacy\Saved\SaveGames Do you have any other mod that might be altering the ui? such as a smaller ui mod, or something adding addtional screens/pages/information?
Are you using my Broom Speedometer mod? If so, does that work as expected?
Which order have you added the mods into apparate?
Sorry for the random seeming questions. I'm just trying to narrow down what could be causing this issue :)
You arent loading the uicore in apparate? if not, that would be the cause :)
The uicore has some logic that runs to send out events for when the field guide is opened/closed/changes page, which this mod uses to listen for, to then add the ui when the gear menu is opened.
If the uicore logic actor is never added, then this mod will constantly be trying to find that actor, which is normally loaded in by apparate.
It shouldnt matter the order, I have UICore first, but apparate doesnt load things sequentially anyway, they (the mods) all start loading at the same time and finish loading whenver the files are read etc by your cpu/blah blah blah, ill stop ranting now :P
side note: you should consider using ApparateUI too since you have a few mods being loaded by it :) side side note: surprised the sql mod menu was still adding the button onto the title screen without the uicore logic actor running. if this was the issue then you probably need to update the mod menu too :D
one thing I noticed so far while testing. If i set all Points on Max Speed (in my case 6) i can reach a max speed of round about 105kmh. with acceleration on Max i can reach about 137kmh. And no points in Max Speed. So i have a higher speed with top acceleration then with top max speed
maybe you already know about that, and its just a balancing issue. :)
yea, umm... ill have to adjust the multipliers some more I think lol, that will likely take some time for proper balancing, atm all stats are scaled by the same amount, and scaling 300k (acceleration impulse) x3 is much more impactful than scaling 1050 (max speed) x3. :P
I ran some tests: 0 points in anything: unboosted max speed: 23 MPH shift boost max speed: 50 MPH mouse boost max speed: 69 MPH
9 points in acceleration: unboosted max speed: 23 MPH shift boost max speed: 50 MPH mouse boost max speed: 89 MPH
9 points in max speed unboosted max speed: 44 MPH shift boost max speed: 54 MPH mouse boost max speed: 69 MPH
4 acceleration, 4 mspeed, 1 damping: unboosted max speed: 31 MPH shift boost max speed: 65 MPH mouse boost max speed: 90 MPH
3 acceleration, 6 mspeed: unboosted max speed: 41 MPH shift boost max speed: 65 MPH mouse boost max speed: 83 MPH
As you can see, acceleration DOES indeed impact your max speed, but only for when using mouse speed boost. Max speed affects your unboosted and shift boosted speeds much more than when mouse boosting (which it doesnt seem to affect at all for some reason). Damping (how quick you slow down) doesnt really affect acceleration much, but it can if you have more damping than anything else.
The thing is, everyone is flying with Boost all the time :D the Boost meter is way to powerful as i think, should be less Boost
what we need is a better acceleration. because the game only knows 3 states of speed and not really anything in between. so if i press mous boost for 30 sek (all skillpoints on max Speed) i should be way faster then with max acceleration. We need a acceleration over time :) what if you increase the time to get to max Speed on lower acceleration Tiers, and increasing the Speed on every Max Speed Tier.
So acceleration is not affecting the speed at all, only the time to get there. The acceleration is even on 0 Points to high.
like you are driving a car. If you have max acceleration, you are @1st position at the beginning, but someone with more max speed will get you, soon or later.
Hi Dekita, thank you for all your amazing mods! I would like to ask for some help regarding the "DekBetterBroomUpgrades" mod. The UI is not appearing. I checked the appdata save folder and there is no DekBetterBroomUpgrades.sav file after adding it to the Apparate UI. I treid to refresh by hovering over the broom description and restarting the game after adding it. Any thoughts?
Here is the list order: DekVendorRefreshButton (works) DekEnemiesExtremis (works) DekBroomSpeedometer (works) DekVendorSellAll (works) DekBetterBroomUpgrades (Does not work**) DekChangeWeather (Does not work either**) DekUnlockAllWands (works)
after flying around with this mod for 2 weeks and testing it with all 9 upgrade points on the lake at hogwarts, here is what i found: BOOST makes the mouse boost lasts longer, base (with 0 points) is 20 seconds and max with 9 points you get a 60 seconds, this stat is useless except maybe for some amazing times on the race tracks later, when you have all 9 points.
DAMPING is useless too, might give you a little more control in the races or bloon popping but it also lowers your overall speed, so no more than one or two points if any.
SPEED makes the base speed faster and the fast/shift boost too, has a strange interaction with acceleration. more than 3 or 4 points are wasted.
ACCELERATION makes the mouse boost max speed much higher

Sorry, my English is very bad I would like to know if this mod can be used with Character Editor I tried many times before and finally made Better Broom Upgrades (with UI) take effect. I didn’t understand it at first. After reading the instructions and comments, I finally found the reason. I need F8 to add UICore and this module.
I put files into ~mods folder, and "DekBetterBroomUpgrades" don't want to add to into my Apparate window after pressing F8. It seems that mod is not installing properly, but I didn't have a slighest problem with the rest of your mods. What could cause this issue? I also don't have a UI HUD for broom upgrades - but I have UICore installed in a apparate window.
I have checked all my mods if they use chunk 1320. If they do it's not on their description page. So next step:
NOTE: If your having trouble getting the mod working with apparate modloader, try renaming the mod files to have a ! in front of their name. This seems to be a priority issue when using a lot of mods.
How am I supposed to do this? Through Vortex? Manually in the file folder? EDIT: I cannot see a way to do it in vortex. And when I try to do it in file folder Vortex freaks out about it and changes it back. EDIT2: Still checking in hoping someone replies cause I haven't figured it out yet. I do have: blueprint apparate mod loader, UIcore, and apparateUI. Oddly the speedometer mod is working just fine. (11/23/23)
are you loading the uicore within apparate modloader? it has to run logic to hook into the field guide options. other ui elements that uicore contains would still work if they are loaded in apparate and their logic is triggered, but the uicore handles field guide hooking :)

I installed this mod mid playthrough, after just receiving the second broom upgrade. So I only have 3 points to spend. Anyway to change this manually?
Never mind haha, should have looked better... some upgrades were automatically assigned :)Your regular game hud isnt showing? or the broom upgrade window isnt showing in your gear screen?

No there is no file named like this. only DekAttackingEnemies, DekDateTimeHud, DekSQLRunner, and ModLoaderSaves.
Yeah the Speedometer is working, like any other Mod that uses UICore
order
Apparition
StudentCombat
DekSQLModMenu
DekDateTimeHUD
DekEnemiesExtremis
WorldConjuration
DekBroomSpeedometer
DekBetterBroomUpgrades

Think i just forgott about that, just reinstalled everything (changed mainboard and OS) this happens when you install to much mods at the same time :D
