Changelogs
Version 1.2.50
Lots and lots of fixes from minor updates from the past eight months.
Version 1.2.2
Fixed horribly implemented line breaks found in various Hokkaido medical journals, thank you @IWILLCRAFT for sending this in to me!. This fix has been applied to ALL languages!. I have also adjusted the English text of Riepers' journal to make a little more sense, though this has NOT been done for every language (sorry). Adjusted Dino Bosco's briefing text as it has a really odd line break after the second paragraph that no other 2016 target uses: The ICA19, ICA19 Chrome and ICA19 Silverballer now all have custom descriptions when you select them from the loadout menu or Freelancer! This was due to the Gun descriptions sharing the same ID in the repo, which IOI have since partially fixed. Does NOT apply to the Career loadout menu or Freelancer. Fixed odd linebreaks in the bio's for Athena, Tyson, Ljudmilla, and Steven Bradley.
Version 1.1.82
added Spanish string to replace some placeholder text for "The Corky Commotion" -- Thanks IWILLCRAFT!
Version 1.1.81
Removed Heritage UI Load order exception. Changed APC Turret Laptop from "Missing Key" to "Cannot Activate. Requires Password", which is less vague and more consistent with other, similar, items in the game.
Version 1.1.71
Fixed description for the Casual Suit being used as the name for it. Minor description adjustments.
Version 1.1.9
Adjusted Dino Bosco's briefing text as it has a really odd line break after the second paragraph that no other *2016* target uses: The ICA19, ICA19 Chrome and ICA19 Silverballer now all have custom descriptions when you select them from the loadout menu or Freelancer! This was due to the Gun descriptions sharing the same ID in the repo, which IOI have since (partially) fixed. Does NOT apply to the Career loadout menu.
Version 1.1.8
Fixed minor spelling error. Added new name and description for the Ancestral Pistol; the Ancestral 2-2, and fixed an odd name for a keycard in Hokkaido that IOI still haven't fixed.
Version 1.1.7
Added new name and description for the Ancestral Pistol; the Ancestral 2-2, and fixed an odd name for a keycard in Hokkaido that IOI still haven't fixed.
Version 1.1.5
Fixed various spelling errors (my own, not anyone elses), Changed various text strings on suits for added clarity, fixed biography of The Procurers with malformed line breaks (seriously IOI, you need two <br>'s, not one!).
Version 1.1.4
Added more ET bio's that are now formatted correctly. Updated credits.
Version 1.1.3
Fixed malformed line breaks and spelling errors in The Revolutionary's Bio and The Liability's Bio. (Also includes 1.1.2 changes from the auto-updater, which is related to a Janus retcon that makes no sense.)
Version 1.1.0
Added a less ambiguously worded Katana Kill Prestige Objective description, as well as custom descriptions for the CEFTs in Freelancer. Added MANY more descriptions for weapons introduced into Hitman (2016) and Hitman 2, as well as fixes for the ICA Combat Axe and ICA19 Silverballer descriptions. NOTE: The ICA 19, Silverballer, and Chrome all share the same description internally -- Hopefully I can fix this soon.
Version 1.0.3
Fixed various typo's and missing description for the ICA Lockpick. This was pushed via the auto-updater already.
Contains improved bio's of targets, better descriptions for weapons, suits and items alike, and far less generic (and obviously placeholder) wording!
This basically exists because I got annoyed with the inconsistent quality of the descriptions in the game. Not every weapon or item description has been changed, usually because it doesn't need to be, but also because some are hard little buggers to pin down and change.
Some items names have also been changed to more fitting names; Arctic Parka instead of Snow Festival Suit, for example.
Are there any bugs? I've tried to keep mis-spellings and incorrect strings being changed to a minimum, but if you do find any, do let me know!:
The only known bug is the ICA 19, ICA 19 Silverballer and the ICA 19 Chrome sharing the same descriptions (which they do internally). From my understanding, I would have to edit the repo file, and such edits makes it incompatible with online mode. Maybe I'll get round to making a Peacock plugin, but given that these are the only weapons so far that are like this, I'd rather IOI change the descriptions themselves so it works everywhere. Since the August 2023 patch, this has been mostly fixed (the career menu descriptions are still merged, the loadout menu ones are not).
What Languages are supported? English only at the moment.
Does this conflict with other mods? Any mod that touches the same localisation strings will either not come through or get overridden, depending on the load order in the SMF GUI. I've made a pre-emptive measure to set this mod to load after Heritage UI, as that mod renames many suits and weapons. This check doesn't stop the renaming HUI does, it merely enforces the few renames I've done here to override HUI." With Heritage UI now having Localisation as an option, rather than an enforced setting, this measure has been removed. If other mods touch the same strings, then this will apply to them too.
