Here Comes Niko... and Ducky! ??
Niko's back, and they've got a new friend perfect for traversing the sea! This mod lets you play as Niko, but with a cute duck companion.
This mod came about from my idea of adding pets in a future Here Comes Niko! game. This is basically a proof of concept ?
There's unique sprites for pretty much every action, so go experiment and play around!
Installation
Requires the Unity Mod Manager by newman55 and the Playable Loader mod by m_cube.

Installation
Requires the Unity Mod Manager by newman55 and the Playable Loader mod by m_cube.
Unity Mod Manager and Playable Loader installation:
- Download the Unity Mod Manager and extract it anywhere.
- Open "UnityModManager.exe".
- Select "Hero Comes Niko!" in the dropdown next to "Game". The program should auto-detect your Here Comes Niko! installation if the game is already installed. If it doesn't, you'll have to click the button next to "Folder" and navigate to the root Here Comes Niko installation folder (the folder that contains "Here Comes Niko!.exe")
- Click the "Install" button.
- While still in the UnityModManager program, click the "Mods" tab.
- Drag and drop the PlayableLoader ZIP file into the area marked "Drop zip files here".
- Click "Install Mod".
- To confirm if the installation worked, go to your Here Comes Niko installation folder (in Steam, right click "Here Comes Niko!" in your library -> Manage -> Browse local files) and verify that a "Mods" folder with a "PlayableLoader" folder exists.
Installing this Specific Mod:
- Download this mod from the "Files" tab on this page.
- Extract the folder within the ZIP file into <Here Comes Niko installation directory>/Mods/PlayableLoader/playables
- Start the game! The Unity Mod Manager should open automatically (hit SHIFT + F10 to open it at any time).
- Click on the "Playable Loader" mod. The window should expand and show you a set of playable characters. "Here Comes Ducky (by theluigiguy)" should appear! Click that, hit "Save", and "Close".
- That's it, enjoy!
