About this mod

I have made this map of 10-15 hours of modification to make this SP map a real time challenging. Couple of extra AIs, modified covenants, modified floods & covenant/flood particles.

Welcome to Keyes, Chief. The mission is save the Captain before he gets swallowed flood-style :). I heard that some covenants & floods are not in the war, but some brutal covenants are there to carry on fighting as well as some unarmed elite/human & elite rocket floods. You might want to take extra care when visiting dark areas, keep your flashlight on or you will be blinded & can possibly get lost easily (I think). Remember those spec-op elites, chief? Well I heard they evacuated their ship and proceeded to "The Maw", I think some of the floods has also followed them there, until we meet again. Anyways, you have one job, save the captain, grab the chip & escape the ship. If you're brave enough to enter this mess (of a hell), then consider yourself a champion.

ADVICE:
It's a little bit dark when you're outside fighting, so be careful. I advice you to use your flashlight when you can't see things clearly. After all, this map has been converted into HD. However, OpenSauce 4.0+ is recommended for extra quality performance improvements. Check this link for the OpenSauce 4.0.0 download: http://www.halomods.com/ips/index.php?/topic/848-opensauce-v400-release/ and you can check this link: https://bitbucket.org/KornnerStudios/opensauce-release/wiki/Home to find out more about OpenSauce (for Halo: CE).

RECOMMENDATION:
This map was made for Halo: CE Single Player Map only.

MORE INFO:
There's some things you need to know about before playing this:

  • You must be experienced in SP
  • You must concentrate & eliminate your targets at any means necessary
  • If you are inexperienced/or new with Halo SP missions, this is not recommended to you
  • Groups may appear in large numbers and can be more deadly
  • Chieftain Elite will be waiting to punish anyone who comes in his way
  • We recommend using OpenSauce 4.0+ for better quality performances, textures, smoothing & video quality itself for this map.

Note: To give it a training test, use the devmode (console) ^cheat_deathless_player 1^ to see what's changed and what's making this more difficult than the original.

EXTRA INFO:
I did make plenty of changes to the following difficulties:

  • Easy
  • Normal
  • Heroic

However, for the full experience, I strongly recommend:

  • Legendary (Which has most of every modification I've worked on)

ADDITIONAL INFO:
Enemies has been limited on this map to make it stand out for the quality improvements. However, these enemies are installed within this map:

  • Chieftain Elite Sword
  • Council Elite Rifle
  • Honor Guard Elite Rifle
  • Elite Commander Rifle
  • Chieftain Jakal
  • Grunt Minor Pistol
  • Spec-op Hunters
  • Flood combat human/elite
  • Flood combat elite rocket

For the very first time, there will be no small-infected-popup floods, carriers, spec-op elites, spec-op grunts, original jakal & grunts, original hunters, armed floods (except rockets) and minor/major/stealth elites.

MAP LEVEL DESIGN/EDITOR NOTES:
Perfect HTML5 Quality Color (2018) installed into this map to look amazingly beautiful. Some aspects has been modified to meet its maps personalizations. Most of the structures, effects, lightings, bolts, lights, skies, floors has also been modified to pinky-purplish & redish color variant. All done by me :)

HOW TO INSTALL & PLAY:
Strong Note: There are two installation for this map for it to appear how you saw on them pictures (in this directory where this readme.txt is). There's the maps/ directory & the tags/ directory. Always make a backup before proceeding, because if you're a modder or currently working on Keyes/Truth & Reconciliation, then it's probably a good idea to back your tags up. The reason for this is because, d20 & a50 (Keyes & Truth-Reconciliation) uses the same Level Textures & Bsps.

  • > Copy the d20.map file and paste it into your Halo Custom Edition maps directory,
  • > Copy the levels/ folder (inside the tags/ folder) and paste it into your tags directory. (Copy+Replace = Yes, remember to back them all up. You've been warned!)
  • > Load up haloce.exe
  • > Go to Campaign > Keyes > Legendary > Start/OK

If you don't see Campaign on your main menu screen, that's probably because you don't have a custom/modified UI for Halo: CE.
You can download your favorite UI here:

Or use this one (recommended & popular):
