I just might not be using this correctly, but does this mod work with the (new) Demo since they've released the updated version recently? Half Sword "Playtest" isn't even a playable game anymore for me since this update. - I've set the keybind to activate the Loadout, but whenever I try to activate it, it just makes the Windows sound effect. It doesn't actually seem to load or otherwise inject anything into the game. - I am however trying to use it while the game is running. Could this be an issue?
Again, maybe I'm just not understanding the directions in the description or the "ReadMe"
(Irrelevant, but FYI) I did manage to find a workaround during the time of 0.5.0's launch and the previous update. Just going into the Mod's files and copying the file for the loadout I wanted, and then pasting it in the games saved files, would overwrite my current loadout with the one selected.
And by choosing which Tier I wanted to face, and then overwriting the "SG Player Equipment.sav" with the "SG Player Equipment.sav" from the Mod's selected loadout file, I could face whatever Tier I wanted with the targeted loadout. BUT, since there's a new update for the Mod, this information is probably irrelevant. But if anyone else is having an issue with the new update potentially not working, this might be a feasible workaround.
D3F4L7x I'm trying to change the tier of equipment to be different to the enemies like you described, but im not sure how to actually get into the mods files, theres nothing in the steamapps>common>halfsword folder, and the installer doesnt have a link to open it as a folder.
@Blagoves If you mean a scenario like playing as the "Golden Baron" and fighting against the "Peasant" tier (just as an example), you just want to click on the Tier you want to fight in, and then (my method with the new update) is to simply go to the OVRDTH Program and double-click the Loadout I want to use. Then click back onto your game and Start. You're Loadout should automatically be applied once the Match starts. * So: Select your Tier to fight in the game > Go to OVRDTH and double-click preferred Loadout > Go back to game and click Start. (Every time you die or select a new Tier to fight, you will have to repeat the process of selecting your Loadout before clicking Start, since every time you select a new Tier to fight in, it overwrites the "SG Player Equipment.sav" file in the game with the newly selected Tier.. And by selecting or re-selecting a Loadout from OVRDTH, it overwrites the same "SG Player Equipment.sav" file with the OVRDTH equipment selected. * If the OVRDTH Program isn't working appropriately for you, however, I might suggest opening two (2) separate File Explorers.
The First File Explorer, you will navigate to: - This PC > Windows (C:) > Users > (Your PC Username) > AppData > Local > HalfSwordUE5 > Saved > SaveGames (Assuming you haven't changed the downloaded/installed destination)
The Second File Explorer, depends on where you extracted the OVRDTH File to, that you used to run the Installer.. If nothing was changed in Extraction, it should be: - This PC > Windows (C:) > Users > (Your PC Username) > Documents > OVRDTH'S SELECTION > pooled_saves (From here, you can search through the "OVRDTH'S LOADOUTS, TIER 7 NO HELM (OLD LOOK), TIERS" folders respectively, copy the "SG Player Equipment.sav" file inside the folder. Paste the copied file into the *first* File Explorer to overwrite the game file by the same name ("SG Player Equipment.sav") * I would usually keep both of these File Explorers open within these two respective destinations to quickly change my Loadouts between matches if I changed the Tier that I was fighting in. Again, this is a pretty convoluted workaround if the OVRDTH Program isn't behaving appropriately that I found to simply mimic what the Program actually seems to be doing. If the Program works fine and changes your Loadouts appropriately, then there's no need for all the File Explorer nonsense. * If you're wanting to wear a particular attire and use a very specific weapon, I don't believe there is a way to do this with OVRDTH SELECTOR.. You can use the preset Loadouts that are included, and you can spam-click through the randomized Loadouts *IN-GAME* until you find one you like, and save that Loadout into the OVRDTH SELECTOR to cut down on clicking through a bunch of random loadouts within a Tier until you find one you like.. But you *cannot* simply choose a specific set of clothes, with a specific config of armor, and a very specific weapon. You can only save and use what comes pre-installed with the OVRDTH SELECTOR, or what the Game gives you via randomization.... * I hope this information is found somewhat helpful, and hopefully @OVRDTH can shed any additional light on the topic or correct anything that I might have misspoken on.
only works in free mode.... no abyss mode or gauntlet mode (WHAT ME AND 99% OF THE PLAYERS WANTED IT FOR).... what's the point when you can already cycle through load-outs in FREE MODE???? lol ... uninstall : easy decision
in free mode you get limited choices and you can't have cross tier matches, Like a farmer vs guard or guard vs knight. its a free mod BTW don't act like he ripped you off personally.
Somehow all loadouts i load don't load with weapons (pre-created or custom created by myself). All clothing/armor is there, just no weapons.. Does anyone know how to fix this?
Took me some time to realize how to use it, here's a guide for dumb raggamuffins like me: 1) Run the mod's .exe file. 2) Click "SET KEYBIND" and assign a key to load a loadout. 3) Select a loadout to load. 3.1) There's a triangle to the left of a section name (e.g. OVRDTH'S LOADOUTS), click it to expand a section and select a loadout. 4) Run the game. 5) In Free mode, select the tier of the fighter matching the tier of the loadout you selected in step 3. 6) Press the key you assigned in step 2. 7) You will hear a Windows bell sound. 8) You will not see the loadout in the main menu, but that's OK, just start the fight. 9) Loadout loads when the fight starts.
You're not alone. It's pretty comical how this modder includes every bit of info in the readme except how to actually use it. At one point he replies "read the instructions" to a confused commenter, but like, mate, there's no instructions. None. Nada. The readme and Nexus description literally says 'I'm sure you can figure it out'. The closest thing is a tutorial video on Youtube someone else made.
Anyway, it seems like the dev of Half Sword Enhancer is planning to develop his own loadout system, so we can finally be free of the clunk of this one.
step 2, 5, and 6 are all unnecessary and can be skipped. you can just double click one of the loadouts (after alt tabbin out of the game) and itll work just the same. tier doesnt have to match either.
i mean, fuck. you made the mod yeah? its yours. we know its yours. but you act like youre a (AAA) game dev and this is your own I.P. and have some sort of nintendo power trip if anyone makes any adjustments and makes their own tweaks and updates to it. i mean sure. they could include malicious code alongside their patches. but then youd state to not trust other sources distributing your mod.
not that if i download this mod you made then ive sold my body and soul to you..?
Your response to getting called cringe is to immediately tell the person to kill themselves. I think you have some growing up to do and it ought not to be here where everyone else has to deal with your growing pains.
It's a small pet peeve to be sure. People have always loved overly showing off ownership or authorship of something since the dawn of time. No different from an artist aggressively watermarking their art or some game dev putting their name on the title (i.e Sid Meier's Civ). I could be scrolling the Arma 3 workshop only to see ~(AUTHOR'S NAME)'s (tiny minimalist QoL mod that's 3 lines of code at most)~.
But at the end of the day, it's pretty harmless and really nothing to complain about unless it directly hinders the product somehow.
Hello, does anyone know how i could go about finding the loadouts i've made so i can send them to a friend and have him use them also? I'm not sure if it'd be even possible but if it is and anyone knows i'd appreciate the help :)

a license and agreementthis comment by asdfgwe32454653im clicking everything in doing everything and nothing is happening.

the pooled_saves folder is hidden by default, so you have to enable "view hidden items" in windows explorer
non-windows: no clue sorry
