About this mod

This WIP mod modifies the damage of every weapon. It increases across the board based on my preferences. Recommended to play on Guerilla!
The Globals file is merged with AleNex's non-combat helper mod as well. There's only 1 version as I have not finalized any changes. Once its mostly done I'll have multiple versions with merges of popular mod

Permissions and credits
The Globals.gdcc file is merged with MarksmanPVG-KVM-N60-Mark120-240Hack5Sec80-160LongGasRadiationBiological75-V6 from AleNex's Mod here

It is the only version available right now because I'm still in the process of making the mod and I use this mod in my own game. Once its done I'll have a vanilla version, plus other mod merges available.

If you do not want to use AleNex's mod while using this, you can not leave out the globals file. It contains modifications to weapon characteristics, but the actual damage modifications are based on the ammo files which are separate from globals. So it's optional.

Here are the changes in the Globals.gdcc file from my mod:

.270 Bolt Action magazine size increased from 4 to 10 / Increase rate of fire about 20%
.50 Sniper Rifle Rate of fire decreased by about 100% to offset the huge damage increase it receives.
.44 Magnum Rate of fire increase by about 200%, you can shoot it almost as fast as you can click now.
Recoil greatly reduced on the SVD 7.62 Sniper Rifle in the Soviet Weapon Pack.

Here are the changes from the ammo files.

All Ammo Types: Falloff damage is significantly decreased for every bullet type. Guns will do max damage out to 50m and fade off to minimum damage at around 150-300m now. This is changed from 0 meters max to 100m minimum for every bullet type. This applies to enemy weapons as well! They will be more dangerous at range. Also I increased machine base damage by about 33% for more lethal machines.

.270 Increased damage by 75% / minimum damage range increased from 100m to 300m
Increased AP Rating on FMJ from 1.0 to 1.25 to match AP ammo on other calibers

.243 Increased damage by 50% / minimum damage range increased from 100m to 300m
Increased AP Rating on FMJ from 1.0 to 1.25 to match AP ammo on other calibers

Vanilla Rocket Launcher - Increased damage by 100%. Increased explosion range by about 50% (15m) Acts as a crowd control weapon, still effective vs heavy enemies. Enemies should aggro from further away when firing launcher

RPG-7 DLC Launcher - Increased damage by about 150%. Increased AP values. Decreased explosion range by 200% (2m) Acts as a true anti-tank weapon with its scope, but poorly as crowd control. Enemies should aggro from further away when firing launcher

5.56/7.62/9x39 Increased damage by about 40-50% / minimum damage range increased from 100m to 200m

.44 Increased damage by about 100% / minimum damage range increased from 100m to 150m

.50 Increased damage by about 300% / minimum damage range increased from 100m to 500m
Round is explosive, but this doesn't affect anything (yet)
Increased AP Value on ap ammo from 1.25 to 1.5

9mm/.32 Increased damage by about 30-45% / minimum damage range increased from 100m to 150m

Birdshot/buckshot: Increased pellet count to be closer to real life values, Increased damage overall. No change to falloff range

Slug: Increase damage about 50% / minimum damage range increased from 100m to 200m

I think that's everything! I'm bad at taking notes, but I'll go through my changes when I finalize what I want to do with this. Let me know if I left anything out that you notice in-game. Be aware that these changes will make the game easier overall obviously. So I recommend playing on hard difficulty (guerilla) for a true lethal game play experience.

  • Add the startup parameter to the game
    --vfs-fs dropzone --vfs-archive archives_win64/initial --vfs-archive archives_win64/supplemental --vfs-archive archives_win64/optional

If you use steam, right click "Generation zero" in your library and select
"properties". Then find "Launch Options" and paste the above parameter into it.

  • Place the "dropzone" folder from the downloaded .zip in the root folder of Generation Zero
  • Done!
