Maybe not everyone playing the game has noticed, but the game has some 'location' inconsistencies mainly represented in the skyboxes. I'll explain a bit. As you people know, Midgar is divided into 8 Sectors and during the story, we visit some of them. We are going to look at Sector 5, 6, and 7.
Sector 5 is the one where Aerith's home is (along with the church and slums)
Sector 6 is the one with Wall Market (also, this one has a feature... the plate above is broken)
Sector 7 is the one with Tifa's 7th heaven, and here the plate later crashes.
Let's have a look at Sector 5. According to the original game and even the map present here, we have...
Picture in the Left: how it should be. A full plate above Sector 5, and the broken plate of Sector 6 to the right
Picture in the right: What we see in the game... A broken plate above Sector 5, and a full plate to the right which belongs to Sector 7
So, how did I solve this? With 3DM, which allows you to change the skybox to another one I made (which has 2 versions with different sunlight positions)
This is how it should look! A full plate above Sector 5, and Sector 6 and its broken plate to the right.
I also used this opportunity to do 2 other things:
Number 1: Removed the -floating in the air- Skylamp from the night-time Sector 6 skybox
Number 2:
Included an option to hide the Skybox during Chapter 13 visit to Sector 7. It's COMPLETELY inconsistent with Chapter 15
I prefer thinking I'm under debris and smoke than the full Sector 7 plate with 10 story buildings disappearing from the face of the earth.
What I couldn't fix: Anything else from Chapters 13 and 14. Doesn't seem possible, sorry!
How to install:
1. Have base 3Dmigoto mod
2. Copy the rar files into /Win64
How to use:
1. Press F3 to enable mods
2. Press Ctrl + Shift + C to cycle through Sector 5 and 6 variants which include:
_ Sector 5 day version 1
_ Sector 5 day version 2
_ Sector 5 night
_ Sector 6 night fixed (to use after going through the tunnel)
_ Default
(You're meant to switch between these during different sections of the game)
2. Press Ctrl + Shift + V to disable Sector 7 skybox during Chapter 13
Please post in the comment section if something's not working properly!
Have fun!
