- -In order to fix a bug that causes softlocking, Penetrator Crossbow once again uses Bolts instead of Bullets.

- -Balthier loses Heavy Armor 11 (Maximilian/Magepower Shishak) and gains Heavy Armor 9 (Giant’s Helmet/Carabineer Mail).
- -Balthier loses Shields 4 (Diamond/Platinum/Dragon Shields) and gains Shields 5 (Kaiser Shield/Crystal Shield). This gives him the potential to have a little more HP or become immune to Disease for easier healing in late-game areas.

- -Basch loses the Excalipoor license and gains a Battle Lore on the Struggle/Freedom Boards.

- -The Rebalanced boards have been reworked once again and are now closer to their Vanilla variations, albeit designed with the Second Boards in mind and are designed with Esper choices in mind.
- EQUIPMENT EDITS:
- -Blood Sword now inflicts Sap at a 100% chance and has Auto: Regen (Sapping enemies and Regen on self is the closest I can get to it somewhat emulating its drain effect from other games…) ATK has also been buffed from 38 to 44.
- -Demonsbane has gained +10 ATK now and has been removed from treasure chests and shops, making it only obtainable by defeating the Demon Wall.
- -Francisca’s Range has increased from 50 to 100, giving it the same range as Bows.
- -Altair’s ATK has been increased from 6 to 7.
- -Capella’s ATK has been increased from 8 to 10.
- -Vega’s ATK has been increased from 13 to 17.
- -Sirius’ ATK has been increased from 17 to 21.

- -Excalipoor is now Anastasia. This is an 85 ATK Sword that has 0 CT, allowing for instant attacks and is obtained as a reward for completing the fishing mini-game, replacing Lu Shang’s Badge (which has been moved as a reward for the Gilgamesh Hunt).
- -Poles can now hit Flying enemies again. Both Poles and Spears have been tweaked to be foils of one another. Spears focus more on Combos, whereas Poles are focused more on EVD. The base Combo rate for Spears is now 14% and the EVD rate is 10%. Base Combo rate for Poles is now 10% and EVD rate remains at 30%. ATK for most Poles has been increased slightly.
- Specific changes are as follows:
- Oaken Pole ATK has increased from 15 to 16.
- Cypress Pole ATK has increased from 22 to 26.
- Musk Stick ATK has increased from 39 to 42.
- Six-Fluted Pole ATK has increased from 59 to 68.
- Gokuu Pole has increased from 72 to 75. As all Poles now hit Flying enemies, the Range has instead been increased from 10 to 50, roughly half of that of Bows.
- Zephyr Pole’s ATK has increased from 77 to 85. It now also grants SPD +7.
- Ivory Pole’s ATK has increased from 83 to 91.
- Sweep’s ATK has increased from 88 to 95 and it can now be obtained from a treasure in Giruvegan. EVD has now been increased from 30% to 40%.
- Eight-Fluted Pole’s ATK has increased from 91 to 100 and it can now be obtained from a treasure at the Ridorana Cataract, replacing the Sweep. It now grants MP +40 and MAG +7, rather than MP +70 and MAG +9.
- Whale Whisker’s EVD has been decreased from 40% to 30%.
- Kanya’s ATK has increased from 108 to 135, though it can no longer inflict Stop.
- -Bhuj now deals normal damage once more. ATK has been reverted to 34.
- -Sakura-Saezuri’s Confuse chance has been reduced from 10% to 7%.
- -Leather Shield now grants 5% M-EVD.
- -Bronze Shield now grants 8% M-EVD.
- -Crystal Shield now grants +310 HP, making it less of a straight downgrade compared to Genji Shield and giving it a niche among other Shields.
- -Thief’s Cap now also boosts the Steal success rate and chance of getting multiple items (does not stack with Master Thief). RES has been decreased slightly, going from 40 to 36.
- -Platinum Armor now grants +6 RES.
- -Carabineer Mail now grants 53 DEF, +6 STR, and +10 SPD
- -Maximillian now grants 60 DEF and +12 STR
- -Grand Armor now grants 67 DEF, +7 STR, +10 VIT, and +500 HP
- -Cleric’s Robes’ MP has increased from 70 to 120.
- -Glimmering Robes’ DEF has increased from 59 to 63 and MP has decreased from 120 to 60. It now bestows MAG +5 and STR +10.
- -Lordly Robes no longer grant STR +5.
- -Firefly no longer grants Safety, but does cause the wearer to ignore weather/terrain effects on magicks. It also now grants +50 MP, but does not grant +1 STR/MAG.
- -Agate Ring now allows the wearer to regenerate MP when taking damage (does not stack with Martyr). This is a temporary change due to a bug found with its intended new effect, which reduces the Charge Time of spells to 0, but no longer nullifies weather/terrain effects on magicks and no longer grants +DEF/RES. Magick CT 0 will return to Agate Ring when the wonkiness of it is figured out/fixed.
- -Rose Corsage no longer gives +5 MAG, but does bestow Immune: Doom as well as Immune: Silence.
- -Winged Boots no longer grant Swiftness 2 and SPD +5, but now also grant Immune: Wind.
- -Power Armlet no longer has Immune: Reverse due to Reverse being fully removed from the game, though it now grants +5 MAG.
- -Amber Armlet no longer boosts Unarmed damage as everyone has Brawler innately and it does not stack and having the Unarmed boost removed from the description will reduce confusion.
- -Fuzzy Miter is now Rood Inverse and grants Auto: HP Critical to the user, triggering any effects that occur when the user is HP Critical, such as Last Stand, Spellbreaker, Adrenaline, and others. This item is obtained by defeating Shadowseer and is rewarded by Montblanc.
- ABILITY EDITS:
- -Fira/Fira/Firaga now have a set 15% chance to inflict Oil.
- -Aero/Aerora/Aeroga now have a set 30% chance to inflict Immobilize.
- -Dark/Darkra/Darkga now have a set 15% chance to inflict Blind and AoE have been increased from 6 to 10 to match other spells.
- -Quake/Quakera/Quakega now have a set 15% chance to inflict Slow.
- -Gravity’s AoE has been increased to match other AoE spells.
- -Immobilize’s description now also explains that Immobilized enemies cannot evade attacks.
- -Poison’s accuracy has been increased from 80% to 100%.
- -Cure’s Power has increased from 20 to 30.
- -Curaga’s Power has increased from 86 to 120. MP Cost has increased from 24 to 32.
- -Curaja’s Power has decreased from 120 to 86. This gives more reason to use Curaga late-game and gives Renew a more unique niche.
- -Vox now cures both Silence and Berserk, and Esuna no longer cures Berserk, making Esuna a more viable option for teams that like to use Berserk. (Due to Echo Herbs sharing the same description as Vox, Echo Herbs now also cure Berserk for consistency.)
- -Esuna/Esunaga’s descriptions are now more clear about what specific statuses they remove.
- -Telekinesis’ Accuracy has been increased from 80% to 100%.
- -Revive now revives a fallen unit with 5% HP. This may initially seem like quite a nerf, but this gives Revive an interesting use- bringing party members back into HP Critical so they can benefit from an increased Combo Rate and trigger Adrenaline and Spellbreaker.
- -Bonecrusher now inflicts Immobilize and Slow.
- -Poach now has 0 CT, making it more useful and easy to use, especially when combined with a Foe = HP Critical Gambit.
- -Shades of White’s accuracy has been improved.
- -Traveler no longer bestows Vanish.
- -Cyclone’s Power has been reduced from 240 to 220.
- -”Maelstorm’s” name has been corrected to “Maelstrom”.
- -Holyja now inflicts Blind, rather than Reverse.
- -Boon now inflicts Confuse, rather than Reverse.
- -Darkja’s power has been reduced from 250 to 230 and it now inflicts Doom, rather than KO. The on-hit status chance is increased from 50% to 100%.
- TREASURE EDITS:
- -Many chests have had some small content updates. Many of them are small changes so they’re not all listed in this changelog, but the changes are small but may make a bit of a difference in some areas.
- -Telekinesis can now be obtained earlier, being able to be obtained in the Simoon Bluffs area, replacing the chest that previously contained a Knot of Rust. If the player already obtained this chest in earlier versions, it will still be available in the Cerobi Steppe as well.
- -Embroidered Tippet now correctly spawns 100% of the time in the Feywood.
- -Darksteel Mace is now exclusively awarded for completing the Darksteel hunt.
- -Seitengrat’s treasure location has been fixed and is no longer obtainable after getting to the Feywood.
- -Lead Bolts can now also be obtained from the Necrohol of Nabudis in a chest in the Hall of Slumbering Might.
- -Erase is now available for purchase from the secret shop at the Necrohol of Nabudis and is no longer obtained from a chest in Giruvegan.
- -Blitz is now obtained from the Erase chest in Giruvegan.
- -The chest previously containing Blitz in the Pharos now contains Shellga.
- -The chest previously containing Shellga in the Great Crystal now contains the Seitengrat.
- -For those who may have opened the chests containing the new contents already, fear not- Blitz and Shellga are now also obtainable in a 100% chest in the Subterra (Penumbra South). These chests will always contain Blitz and Shellga, so they are not missable.
- ENEMY EDITS:
- -Ba’gamnan now has a 100% chance of dropping the Vrsabha.
- -Crystal Knight’s 100% drop is now a Megalixir.
- -Helvinek now drops the Dragon Mail as opposed to the Grand Armor.
- -Oversouls now drop Hi-Ethers as opposed to the Staff of the Magi.
- -Ash Wyrms now drop a Kagenui as opposed to the Koga Blade.
- -Bunes now drop Tridents, rather than Gungnirs.
- -Dr. Cid is now neutral to all elements.
- -Orthros’ MP issue has been fixed.
- -Flowering Cactoid now no longer deals 0 damage.
- -The Shambling Corpses in Adrammelech’s room now have Avenger as their 1% drop, rather than Platinum Daggers.
- -Enemies no longer use the Lv. X abilities, though Prime Lv. Death remains as Zalera’s ultimate attack.
- -Lindwyrm now uses Break and Sleepga.
- -Gilgamesh now uses 1000 Needles, Flash, and Goblin Attack, referencing the Blue Magick abilities of FFV.
- -Zodiark now uses Scourge, Poison, and Toxify.
- -Tiamat’s HP has been reduced and it now casts Immobilize, rather than Disablega, making the fight less of a slog.
- -Elder Wyrm’s MP issue has been fixed.
- -(Spoiler) on the Shiva now ignores EVD at HP < 20% rather than 50% and uses an X-Potion instead of a Hi-Potion. He also no longer casts Reflect and gains Counter at HP < 40% and Counter Plus at HP < 20%.
- -Many enemies who flat-out ignore Evasion now do so at a lower HP threshold, making them still dangerous at lower HP, but making it so Shields and EVD weapons aren’t completely useless against certain foes and are still good at mitigating damage early/mid-fights.
- -Dr. Cid 2’s HP has been decreased slightly.
- -Ring Wyrm’s HP has been decreased.
- -Fafnir’s DEF and RES has been decreased.
- -Behemoth King’s DEF and RES has been decreased.
- -Omega’s HP has been decreased.
- -Deathscythe now inflicts Doom with its physical attacks, rather than Death.

- NPC EDITS:
- -Some AI-controlled NPCs have had some AI updates to use more interesting abilities than before.
- -Bangaa Hunters will now use Cura and Haste rather than Cure and Protect, as Bangaa cannot learn Cure and Protect in FFTA/A2, but do learn Cura and Haste from their Bishop and Templar jobs, respectively. More of these NPC AI edits will be present in future versions.
- -Amalia now casts Dark in the fight against the Imperial Soldiers in Garamsythe, as opposed to using a Dark Mote (change made to prevent issues in an upcoming update).
- -Larsa now uses Bubble rather than Protect and can use Shades of Black in the fight against (Spoiler) on the Sky Fortress Bahamut and can also use Cura.
- -Gabranth (Guest) will now use Circle of Judgment and Sentence in the fight against (Spoiler) Novus.
- ESPER EDITS:
- -Cuchulainn now properly has the 0 MP Cost Augment. Note that this change will only take effect upon beginning a new game. As this is a very minor edit that doesn’t affect much, it is not advised to start a new game just for this.
- SHOP/BAZAAR EDITS:
- -Blizzara is now available slightly earlier, at Eruyt Village.
- -The Bazaar recipe once yielding Kagenui now yields a Sakura-saezuri instead.
- -The 2x Phoenix Down Bazaar recipe has had its cost reduced from 400 to 350 Gil.
- -The 5x Potion, 3x Handkerchief, 3x Gold Needle Bazaar recipe has had its cost reduced from 700 to 600 Gil.
- -Burroughs now sells Oil in Barheim. Blizzard has also been added to his inventory. This was a very difficult decision to make, but I decided to err towards making the area a little easier than it was before for a few reasons. First, giving Oil access makes Balthier’s MP worth something to those playing the Struggle/Freedom versions of the mod. It also encourages early use of debuffs and is a bit of a non-guided tutorial on how potent and important Oil is. With regard to Blizzard being added, the player could always access Blizzard by venturing out to the Estersand Village prior to doing Garamsythe. To that end, the access has always been there, but was slightly obtuse. This change equalizes things and makes the area slightly less frustrating and should even out the difficulty a bit, especially for those players who have trouble keeping the Charge levels high.
- TRAP EDITS:
- -Stasis Traps now inflict Stop, rather than Disable/Reverse.

The base Combo rate for Spears is now 14% and the EVD rate is 10%. Base Combo rate for Poles is now 10% and EVD rate remains at 30%. ATK for most Poles has been increased slightly.

Magick CT 0 will return to Agate Ring when the wonkiness of it is figured out/fixed.
- -Rose Corsage no longer gives +5 MAG, but does bestow Immune: Doom as well as Immune: Silence.

- -Trial Mode changes have begun, starting with Bosses (and Trials with Boss HP Bar enemies.) Trial Mode is now much more challenging and is intended only for endgame parties. The following Trial Mode enemies thus have endgame level enemy stats. Defeating the optional enemies in these fights is crucial to keeping your party topped off with Megalixirs, which the side enemies drop 100% of the time, starting with Elder Wyrm/Treants. In the case of Hell Wyrm and Yiazmat, they have their regular, unaltered Vanilla non-Trial stats. Note that Dead Bones and Dark Lords in the Zalera/Zeromus fights do not drop Megalixirs, dropping Remedies instead. Fafnir and Behemoth King have also had their main fight HP restored to them in Trial Mode.

- Equipment Edits:
- To remove potential confusion with certain weapons being 1H or 2H, the 1H/2H descriptor has been removed from the weapon type string. For example, Masamune became 1H, but would still show Katana (2H) next to it, causing confusion, prompting this change, as well as for certain other weapons.
- Runeblade no longer Inflicts: Silence, and instead, gives +9 MAG/+70 MP.
- Axes/Hammers no longer deal random damage based on VIT. They instead use the Strength formula similar to Swords. In general, each of the Sword formula weapons has its own niche now. Swords have varied elements and effects, allowing the user to strike elemental weaknesses more easily. Axes are faster and have a higher Combo Rate, allowing for the highest damage ceiling. Hammers deal the most damage per blow and can debuff, but have a very low base Combo rate. Knightswords are best used for the buffs they place on the user, and Spears are ideal for fighting Flying enemies.
- Francisca now has 50 Range, rather than 10 (half as much as Bows), more befitting its theme of being a throwing axe.
- Rods are now One-Handed, allowing them to be used in tandem with Shields for those playing the 12 Jobs versions of SFF.
- Serpent Rod now has 20% EVD and no longer grants +2 MAG, making it a good defensive Rod.
- Healing Rod now grants +45 MP/+7 MAG/+10 VIT. EVD has been decreased to 6 to match other Rods, making it a good early/mid-game Rod for pure casting.
- Gaia Rod is now the Lilith Rod, a Non-Elemental Rod that has a 10% chance to inflict Sleep/Doom on hit, while still granting +16 MP/+2 MAG.
- Power Rod now has a 10% chance to inflict Stop.
- Empyreal Rod now grants Auto: Reflect to the user, making it great when facing foes who rely on magick. It remains the best attack-oriented Rod (outside of the Holy Rod), with the ability to Combo (now up to 12%), but no longer grants +2 MAG. ATK has been increased to 66.
- Holy Rod no longer grants +4 MAG.
- Rod of Faith no longer grants +6 MAG, and its EVD has been decreased to 6 to match other Rods.
- Ras Algethi’s ATK has been increased from 58 to 61.
- Arcturus’ ATK has been increased from 94 to 97.
- The Artemis Bow now grants Boost: Earth and no longer grants 20 EVD.
- Sagittarius now grants Boost: Holy. CT has been increased to 29 to match other Bows.
- Crossbows now ignore weather and can Combo, but cannot Crit. Most Crossbows have a base Combo Rate of 10%, with the exception of the Penetrator Crossbow, which has a Combo Rate of 15.
- Hunting Crossbow’s EVD has been increased to 15%.
- Penetrator Crossbow now fires Shot instead of Bolts, giving the user a wide variety of elemental options.
- Staves are now One-Handed.
- Bamboo Arrows are now Water Elemental.
- Parallel Arrows are now Silver Arrows, which are Holy Elemental.
- Each Bolt (ammo) has been given +1 ATK, with the exception of Grand Bolts, which were given +2 ATK (for 6 ATK total).
- Powersoul is now the Rocket Punch, which can hit Flying enemies.
- Kaiser Knuckles now deal DEF-ignoring damage, similar to Guns, also ignoring the user’s ATK, and have had their ATK reduced to 37.
- Ehrgeiz is now Magick Hands, which deals damage based on the user’s MAG and the enemy’s DEF, similar to Maces.
- Faerie Claws are now Bastet Claws, which have 4 ATK and are Thunder Elemental.
- Hell Claws are now Duel Claws, which have 2 ATK and a 10% chance to inflict Immobilize/Berserk on the target.
- Viking Coat now grants Boost: Thunder, rather than Halve: Water.
- Gaia Hat now properly gives +90 HP/+70 MP/Absorb: Earth.
- Genji Armor now gives +10 ATK/+10 MAG (up from +9/+3) and its DEF has been decreased to 60.
- Fuzzy Miter no longer reduces EXP gained by the wearer to 0.
- Ability Edits:
- Raise’s MP cost has been decreased from 40 to 24.
- Arise’s MP cost has been decreased from 99 to 68.
- Renew now has 0 CT and costs 86 MP.
- Aqua/Aquara/Aquaga/Aquaja have been renamed to Water/Watera/Waterga/Waterja.
- Flare now has 0 CT to make up for its slow animation speed.
- Holy is now AoE, costs 64 MP, has a faster animation, and has a 15% chance of inflicting Stop. Its Power has been reduced to 145 (similar to Ardor). Holy Motes and Piercing Holy have also been edited to match.
- Stamp and Traveler have swapped animations.
- Float’s spell description now mentions that it grants immunity to Earth Elemental attacks.
- Bubble’s spell description now mentions that it grants immunity to Disease.
- Hell Wyrm’s Judgment ability now inflicts Disease, Sap, and Stop.

- Aero Motes now properly no longer have AoE and inflict Immobilize at a 12% rate.

- Aeroga Motes now properly no longer have AoE and inflicts Immobilize at a 36% rate.

- Meteorites now have varying effects in battle (mostly damage, and are cool ways to use Meteoric Magicks without needing Exodus) and are primarily meant to be sold/thrown at enemies. Meteorite A sells for 500 Gil each, Meteorite B sells for 1000 Gil each, Meteorite C sells for 10000 Gil each, Meteorite D sells for 30000 Gil each.
- Meteorite A is now simply named “Meteorite” and casts a variation of Roxxor, which deals moderate Earth Elemental damage to a single target with a 20% chance to Slow it.
- Meteorite B is now named “Stardust” and casts a variation of Comet, which deals heavy Non-Elemental Damage to a single target.
- Meteorite C is now “Star Shard”, and casts a variation of Chocobo-Comet, which deals heavy Non-Elemental damage to all foes in range.
- Meteorite D is now “Black Materia” and casts a variation of Meteor, which halts the flow of battle and deals tremendous damage in a huge radius.
- Treasure Edits:
- Diamond Armlet has been completely reworked. Now, opening a chest with the Diamond Armlet equipped gives you a chance to get increased Gil compared to opening it without it. Also, the rare item from a chest without the Diamond Armlet equipped becomes the common item from the chest with the Diamond Armlet equipped. Knots of Rust/Meteorites are now the rare item from chests with the Diamond Armlet equipped. Over 1600 chests have been edited or adjusted in some way.
- Silver Bow and Mage Masher have a 100% chance of spawning in Barheim now and won’t respawn.
- The Quasimodo Boots and Bone of Byblos now spawn 100% of the time properly at Lhusu.
- The Iga/Koga Blade in Lhusu has been replaced with other items.
- The Koga Blade has been moved to the chest in The Crucible in the Necrohol.
- The Iga Blade has been moved to the chest in the Pharos Second Ascent, Station of Suffering.

- The Great Crystal’s treasure chests have been unchanged, aside from the Gil obtained. All 4 Meteorites can be potentially obtained from those chests as normal.
- The Nihopalaoa now spawns 100% of the time in the Subterra.
- The Great Trango now spawns 100% of the time in the Subterra.
- The chests in the Subterra, Abyssal South now have Baltoro’s Seeds or Domain Calvados as their rare Diamond Armlet item.
- The Giant’s Gloves in Zertinan Caverns now properly spawn 100% of the time.
- Each chest in Cerobi has been unchanged from previous versions of SFF, but each chest has doubled Gil ceilings with the Diamond Armlet.
- Bazaar Edits:
- The Dragon Crest Bazaar recipe now rewards the player with a Mythril Sword, Manufacted Nethicite, and a mystery item. Note that this reward is mostly for completionists, who would not have the Mythril Sword and Manufacted Nethicite in their inventory otherwise.
- Hunt Club Reward Edits:
- The Trophy Hunt Club has been reworked to be a little less confusing and more streamlined, and to make it more worth the player’s time to hunt down all 30 Trophy Rare Game.
- The Wyrmhero Blade is now exclusively obtained through the Hunt Club, after turning in all 30 Trophies.
- The Tournesol can also be obtained without needing to grind for loot, but only after turning 10 Trophies into each Atak, Blok, and Stok.
- Even after losing the Sword of Kings and Trophy Blade, an extra one can also be obtained after turning in all 30 Trophies (for those who enjoy having a full inventory, including “missables”.)
- Enemy Edits:
- Enemies (mostly Rare Game) that previously only had one Steal (usually 3%) now have their Steal become more common, meaning there’s a lot less tedium involved in Stealing from those enemies now.
- Air Cutter Remora is now significantly less tanky/tedious to fight.
- Zalera’s ATK has been fixed.
- Judge Bergan and Judges’ stats have been fixed and they should be less of a brick wall to have to deal with.

- Penelo gains HP +190/230, Accessories 16, Shell Shield, Stamp and Warmage in Struggle/Freedom board versions. Warmage allows her to quickly regenerate MP by using Cura/Curaja on swarms of Undead as well as with Holy late-game, allowing her to become something of an Undead slayer. The added HP allows her to become a little more useful in late-game fights, and her new access to Cat-Ear Hood fits her role as a White Mage (think Krile from FFV) and Cameo Belt helps her Pole strikes become more reliable. Shell Shield gives her a defensive option to go with her (now 1H) Rods, and Stamp allows her to punish enemies with debuffs before cleansing them.
- Status Edits:
- Poison will no longer wear off unless it’s cured via Poisona, Antidotes, Erase, or a Save Crystal.
- Protect/Shell/Regen now have double their default duration.
- Miscellaneous Edits:
- The file names have been clarified. What was originally the default name is now “Struggle for Freedom- Struggle+Freedom Jobs”.
- The Zodiac Escutcheon can now be obtained from Montblanc after defeating the Hell Wyrm.
- The “vulnerable” Gambits have been renamed for clarity. They are now “foe: not element-immune”.

- Traveler’s Gambit AI will continue casting and doesn’t check for buffs. This is due to the hardcoded AI of Traveler’s interaction with Gambits. (It checks to do damage instead of buffing.)
- Gil rewards from Marks/Sidequests are not doubled properly- this will be looked into for a future version.
- Hybrid Gators in Ozmone seem to not attack properly. I’m not sure why, since everything seems fine with them otherwise. Will be looking into this more in-depth when I’m able to.

- Struggle/Freedom Board Edits:
- Quickening shortcuts have been removed from the Struggle Boards. Ultimately, they didn’t add much of a benefit and just confused and frustrated many people, who just ended up having to reset their boards.
- Vaan’s early Licenses have been moved around a bit to be more early-game friendly.
- Balthier’s Stop/Bleed has been replaced with Shields 4, allowing him to use Shields alongside his Halberd and Measures.
- Balthier loses Float/Berserk, which is replaced with Swiftness. In turn, Balthier loses a Swiftness License on his primary board which is replaced with Master Thief. This allows him to act as a secondary Thief in the party, albeit Vaan is the better Thief as he gets it earlier and will likely be focusing less on healing, unlike Balthier.
- Balthier loses Accessories 8 (Giant’s Gloves/Gauntlets) and gains Shields 3 (Golden Shield/Flame Shield/Ice Shield). This opens up defensive builds for him to use with his one-handed Halberd and his Measures.
- Balthier loses Knuckles 3 on his Secondary Board, which is replaced with Last Stand, allowing him to become a tankier healier (though he still lacks the AoE healing that Penelo has.)
- Balthier loses Swiftness on his Secondary Board, which is replaced with Spellbreaker, allowing his Decoy/Bubble spells to pack a longer punch when used at HP Critical, and boosting the damage output of his higher-level spells at Critical.
- Fran loses the Master Thief License (formerly Brawler) and gains Accessories 9 for Amber Armlet access. Accessories 9 and 12 swap places on her Struggle board. This allows her to use better barehanded attacks, as is implied to be a skill of hers based on her Quickenings.
- Fran loses a Magick Lore on her Secondary Board and gains access to Knuckles 2, for the same reason as noted above.
- Ashe loses Swords 1, makes room for Shields 2. Light Armor 1 is replaced with Heavy Armor 2. Heavy Armor 2 is replaced with Heavy Armor 3. Heavy Armor 3 is replaced with Heavy Armor 4. Light Armor 2 is replaced with Shields 3. Mystic Armor 6 is replaced with Heavy Armor 5. Mystic Armor 9 is replaced with Heavy Armor 7, making Heavy Armor an option for characters other an Basch and giving Ashe a way to augment damage dealt by Crossbows and Knuckles, and makes her feel more like a Red Mage, as was intended originally to be her role.
- Ashe’s Stamp is moved from her Secondary Board to her Primary Board, replacing the 30 LP Channeling. Stamp has been replaced with Adrenaline.
- Ashe’s 30 LP Swiftness on her Secondary Board has been replaced with Spellbreaker.

- War Hammer’s chance of inflicting Disable has been reduced from 20% to 10%, as it was previously inflicting Disable far too often.
- Osafune now grants +40 MP and +5 MAG, making it a more attractive option for Ashe/mage subjobs early-game.
- Kogarasumaru’s EVD is increased from 15% to 20%, which, combined with its ability to inflict Blind, makes it a perfect evade tank option.
- Yakei’s Combo Rate has increased from 20% to 30%, making it stand out more compared to other late-game Katana.
- Kumbha’s Combo Rate has decreased from 30% to 20%, but ATK has increased from 115 to 125.
- Kanya now grants +800 HP and +2 STR. Whale Whisker is stronger offensively with Pirate’s Hat and has higher EVD, but Kanya has higher base ATK and gives the HP bonus to allow it to compete.
- Killer Bow now grants +7 SPD.
- Longbow now has 1.5x range of all other Bows.
- Paramina Crossbow now ignores Weather in regards to accuracy, but cannot Combo or Crit.
- Recurve Crossbow now grants +7 STR and +4 SPD.
- Power Rod now inflicts Immobilize alongside Berserk, making it ideal for quickly shutting down enemies. This procs at a 10% chance.
- Thorned Mace now grants +50 MP and +5 MAG, allowing Ashe/Red Battlemages to focus on magick.
- Doom Mace now grants +360 HP and is Dark Elemental, making it an attractive defensive option.
- Hand-Bombs have been replaced with Knuckles/Claws. These weapons use the same damage formula as Knives/Ninja Blades and focus on having a high ATK and a moderate Combo Rate. These weapons essentially allow Unarmed to become a viable combat option and give Foebreakers a much needed buff for those playing the Unchanged 12 Jobs Version. Knuckles require Claws to be used in conjunction with them, which allow them to change elemental/status properties.

- Pirate’s Hat no longer gives +2 SPD/+2 VIT, but now grants Boost: Water.
- Accessory Edits:
- Sage’s Ring no longer offers +75 MP in addition to the Halve MP Cost effect.
- Ring of Renewal now bestows +10 DEF/+10 RES in addition to Auto: Regen/Immune: Sap.

- Winged Boots now provide a rank of Swiftness along with Auto: Float, but only if the user doesn’t already have it.
- Thief’s Cuffs no longer boost the Success Rate/Loot from Thief’s Cuffs. Rather, characters can now obtain the Master Thief License, which has similar effects. As such, the Thief’s Cuffs now the Giant’s Gloves, which give +500 HP to the character.
- Amber Armlet retains its ability to augment completely unarmed damage (not Knuckles), but has been buffed- it now grants +200 HP, and +5 STR/VIT/SPD, for those wanting to use true Unarmed builds.
- Bowline Sash no longer provides +2 MAG, but now also grants Immune: Stone/Petrify along with Immune: Confuse.
- Fuzzy Miter no longer provides +150 MP and Immune: Stone/Petrify. In a future update, it will bestow Auto: HP Critical to the user, triggering their Spellbreaker/Adrenaline/Last Stand Augments. However, it comes with a drawback in the form of Auto: Poison/Sap/Oil and the user receives no EXP from battle. Currently, it will provide +200 MP.
- Mesa/Excalibur/Hermes Sandals now grants Immune: Slow to prevent Slow from stacking on the Auto: Haste. The game will only display Immune: Slow, but it’ll properly give them Auto: Haste.
- Ragnarok/Renewing Morion/Ring of Renewal now grants Immune: Sap to prevent Sap from stacking on the Auto: Regen. The game will only display Immune: Sap, but it’ll properly give them Auto: Regen.
- Ribbon no longer grants Immune: X-Zone.
- Item Edits:
- The Fangs now no longer deal percentile damage, instead they deal damage roughly equivalent to a -ra level spell and maintain the gimmicks of their element. Soleil Fang has an 18% chance to Oil a foe, Rime Fang is AoE, and Lightning Fang, due to items not having a CT (so it can’t be the fastest), instead has a 20% chance of inflicting Slow, to roughly emphasize the Thunder element’s speed. Due to the formula change, damage is no longer boosted by Pheasant Netsuke, but can be boosted by Staves/Burning Bow/other elemental boosting gear.
- Ability Edits:
- Immobilize’s MP cost has been decreased from 14 to 8.
- Bleed’s MP cost has been reduced from 12 to 10.
- Regen is now AoE and its MP cost has been decreased from 16 to 10, making it a direct foil of Bleed. Animation has been changed to Angelsong.
- Vanish now affects the entire party at once. Animation has been changed to Vanishga.
- Vanishga is now Gravity, which reduces the HP of foes in a small area by 50%. Note that due to the hardcoding of Vanish, Gravity is not compatible with Gambits and must be cast manually. Gravity’s accuracy is 60%.
- Aero/Aerora/Aeroga are now single target and have a 12/24/36% chance of inflicting Immobilize on the target, making it perfect for mages who want to keep the enemy rooted as they sling spells at them.
- Bio is now Non-Elemental and inflicts both Poison and Sap.
- Scourge is now Non-Elemental and has a 25% chance of inflicting Blind/Sleep/Silence.
- Gravity and Graviga are now Quake (Power Stun’s animation) and Quakega (Tremor’s animation), respectively.
- Piercing Graviga is now Piercing Quakega.
- Gravity Motes are now Quake Motes.
- Vanishga Motes are now Gravity Motes.
- Drain’s Power has been increased from 62 to 67, its MP cost has been decreased from 18 to 16.
- Reverse is now Drainga, a spell with 110 Power that drains HP from enemies in an AoE, and costs 32 MP, allowing a Decoy user to use it on themselves, and then use Drainga to stay alive more easily.
- Reverse Motes are now Drainga Motes.
- Balance Motes are now correctly single-target.
- Syphon’s Accuracy has been increased from 60% to 100%.
- Aqua no longer inflicts Sap. Rather, it now costs less MP than other comparable spells. Specifically, it costs half the MP of other similar-level spells, giving casters an option if they don’t want to wear a Sage’s Ring all the time.
- Shock is now Aquaga, which has 120 Power and also costs less MP.
- Shock Mote is now Aquaga Mote.
- First Aid now restores 15% of the target’s max HP, rather than 10%, and its CT has been increased from 15 to 20.
- Traveler now bestows the user with Haste/Float/Vanish.
- Horology now removes Slow/Stop/Disable/Immobilize from allies.
- Numerology now deals damage to enemies in an area equal to 20% of their HP with 75% accuracy.
- 1000 Needles’ CT has been reduced to 0, effectively making it an instant burst of 1000 damage.
- Expose/Shear now have 30 CT and a base accuracy of 100%.
- Wither is now Blitz, a Technick that, although slower than regular attacks and can’t Combo, deals physical damage to units in an AoE and can hit Flying enemies.
- Addle is now Erase, a Technick that removes all buffs and debuffs (with the exception of KO and X-Zone) from a single target.
- Gravity Well now has 30 CT, rather than 15.
- Restore now heals 20% HP, rather than 50%.
- Nordswain’s Glow has been corrected and is back to being Northswain’s Glow.
- Pox now inflicts Poison/Sap/Disease on a single target.
- Curse now inflicts Oil/Silence/Slow/Confuse/Doom on units in a small AoE.
- Vinuskar’s Crown ability is now Non-Elemental and has as 100% chance to inflict Stop on a single target.
- Vinuskar’s Sword Dance ability now has 255 AoE and inflicts both Slow and Sap.
- Sandstorm has been renamed to Maelstrom.

- Many of the below Esper Gambit changes are so that they will maintain AI integrity in non-Struggle/Freedom Board versions, as they can be assigned to anyone in those versions.
- Belias now casts Bubble on any ally now, and will cast Decoy on himself, but only if he has Bubble.
- Adrammelech will now cast Hastega and Float on any ally now, rather than just Vaan.
- Hashmal will now cast Protectga and Shellga on any ally now, rather than just Basch.
- Cuchulainn will now use Scourge, and will no longer do anything special against Water Vulnerable foes.

Most weapons now have a more tactical use, allowing for a variety of different builds and, for those playing with the PS2 or 12 Jobs versions, more versatility in combat.
Many Quality of Life features were added, such as Vaan starting with the Enemy HP = 100% Gambit (allowing for easier theft after Gambits are unlocked in Garamsythe), and Penelo beginning the game with Cure.

Weapon Edits:
Swords:
Zwill Blade now grants +7 SPD to make it comparable to Daggers in terms of Speed early-game, particularly for Vaan in SFF Mode.
Lohengrin’s EVD has been increased from 5% to 10%, making it slightly better for Evasion.
Bastard Sword’s ATK has been increased from 67 to 77 and EVD has been increased from 5% to 15%, but now requires two hands to use, effectively making it an earlier-game Greatsword with less Charge Time and the ability to Combo.
Durandal is now Holy Elemental, making it an ideal late-game Holy Elemental weapon before Excalibur is available, and compared to Excalibur grants the player an option to go with a one-handed Holy weapon, allowing potentially for a Shield.
Great Trango’s Knockback has been increased from 30 to 100, allowing it to easily knock enemies back and it now has a 20% chance to inflict Immobilize, which is great for tanks who want to get enemies away from the party and keep them pinned down.
Simha now also grants Auto: Libra (the weapon is based on Tidus’ Brotherhood, being Water Elemental and Auto: Libra emulates its Sensor ability.)
Greatswords:
Greatswords (with the exception of the Treaty-Blade, Sword of Kings, and Nightmare) are now unable to Combo, making them more geared towards defensive use and less towards raw damage.
Excalipur’s damage output has been buffed, and it’s now the fastest weapon in the game with the highest Combo Rate to put it on par with other late-game weapons.
Katana:
Katana base EVD has been reduced to 15% (for Katana whose current EVD is above 15%.)
Osafune now grants +25 MP and +3 Magick, giving Ashe a slight boost in spellcasting capabilities early on, or for a mage subjob when paired with Bushi.
Kogarasumaru now has a 10% chance of inflicting Blind.
Magoroku now grants +20 VIT, allowing the wearer to be cleansed of debuffs quicker and, for subjobs paired with Bushi, allows them to land their debuffs with greater ease and for a longer duration.
Kiku-ichimonji’s EVD has been increased to 30%, making it ideal for an evasive unit until the Masamune/Genji Shield combo becomes available.
Ame-no-Murakumo Charge Time has been decreased from 31 to 24, making it the fastest Katana to wield, allowing Ashe/Bushis to strike overall much faster compared to other Katana, albeit at less overall power.
Kumbha’s ATK has been increased from 110 to 115, making it the best overall offensive Katana.
Ninja Blades:
Sakura-saezuri now has a 10% chance of inflicting Confuse.
Mesa’s ATK has been decreased from 102 to 90, making it less overpowered in terms of sheer power and more focused on Speed.
Spears:
All Spears have had their Charge Time increased by 2.
Heavy Lance’s Charge Time has been decreased from 34 to 28 to bring it on par with other Spear Charge Times.
Obelisk now grants +70 MP and +6 MAG, best used with spellcasting-focused Uhlans in TZA Mode and with Balthier’s Green Magick/late-game magicks in SFF Mode.
Halberd is now one-handed, allowing it to be used with a Shield, namely for TZA Jobs Mode.
Vrsabha now inflicts Blind, rather than Silence, giving it more widespread use and, for SFF Mode, preventing overlap since Balthier can already Silence enemies with his Silent Shot ammo.
Poles:
All Poles have had their Charge Time increased by 5.
Battle Bamboo now grants +7 STR and +3 VIT, making Monks more potent early-game as Unarmed tapers off.
Musk Stick now grants +160 HP, allowing Monks to become even tankier, or giving Penelo a better defensive option to keep her alive longer.
Six-fluted Pole now grants +32 MP and +4 Magick, giving Monks some much needed MP in TZA Jobs Mode and helping with a potential magic-based subjob, and giving Penelo some bonus MP/Magick in SFF Mode.
Zephyr Pole now has a 10% chance of inflicting Slow.
Gokuu Pole can now hit Flying enemies, making it the only Pole able to do so, useful for Monks in TZA Jobs Mode.
Ivory Pole is now One-Handed.
Eight-fluted Pole now grants +70 MP and +9 Magick.
Bows:
Elfin Bow now grants +25 MP and +3 Magick, making it ideal for Fran in SFF Mode or for subjob mages in TZA Jobs Mode.
Loxley Bow now grants +75 MP (uses Sage’s Ring Attribute slot), same reasoning as above, albeit with a focus on raw MP, rather than MP and Magick Power.
Giant Stonebow’s Charge Time has been decreased from 36 to 32 to bring it on par with other Bow Charge Times.
Traitor’s Bow now grants the user Auto: Berserk, making it a powerful and fast options for Archers or to give Fran a decent offensive option when MP is low.
Yoichi Bow’s Charge Time is increased from 28 to 32, but now grants +7 Speed to bring it on par with other Bow Charge Times, but to make the user’s non-attack options also somewhat faster.
Crossbows:
Bowgun’s EVD has been decreased from 10% to 5%.
Hunting Crossbow’s EVD has been increased from 5% to 10% to make it a more attractive defensive option.
Guns:
Ras Algethi is now a Gunblade as its model suggests. It’s effectively a Sword that has 58 ATK and an 8% Combo Rate. It also uses the Sword damage formula and can’t hit Flying enemies, but Bullets can be used to increase its ATK or change its elemental properties.
Spica’s Charge Time has been decreased from 50 to 38.
Antares’ EVD has been increased from 10% to 20% to give Balthier/Machinist a better evasive option for Guns (though Measures are still better for pure defense).
Arcturus is also now a Gunblade. It’s effectively a Sword that has 94 ATK and a 15% Combo Rate. It also uses the Sword damage formula and can’t hit Flying enemies, but Bullets can be used to increase its ATK or change its elemental properties.
Axes:
All Axes have had their Charge Time reduced by 3 to make them more attractive despite their variance on damage.
All Axes (except the Francisca) have had their Combo Rate increased by 4% for the same reason listed above.
Broadaxe now provides +140 HP and +5 VIT, making it a good defensive weapon pick early-game.
Slasher’s Combo Rate is 16%, making it the best Axe for Comboing mid-game despite having less power compared to later Axes.
Hammerhead’s Knockback has been increased from 10 to 30.
Golden Axe’s Combo Rate is 12% and its new CT is 21, making it Basch’s fastest weapon in SFF (aside from Excalipur), and for Foebreaker puts it on par with Dagger speed for TZA Job Mode.
Daggers:
Gladius no longer provides +1 SPD (to make room for another attribute later).
Rods:
Serpent Rod is now no longer Ice Elemental, and can inflict Sap at a 15% chance, making it a more useful weapon early-game that’s less likely to be looked over.
Healing Rod now also provides +50 HP, +30 MP, and +5 MAG, making it a more caster-focused weapon as it doesn’t provide any ATK.
Gaia Rod now also provides +16 MP and +2 MAG, providing less overall for casting, but it can be used more for physical attacking.
Empyreal Rod now has a 6% Combo Rate, making it a decent offensive option for Penelo/White Mages.
Staves:
Cherry Staff’s EVD has been increased from 8% to 15%, giving Black Mage/Fran an option as an evasion-focused weapon to aid in survivability at the cost of damage output compared to other Staves.
Maces:
Bhuj’s ATK has been reduced from 34 to 18 and now uses the Gun damage formula, but can no longer Combo and can’t Crit, giving Ashe/Red Mages a unique physical option early/mid-game.
Bonebreaker's ATK is increased from 82 to 97.
Bonebreaker’s Combo Rate is increased from 5% to 10% to make it a more viable physical offense option.
Bonebreaker can no longer inflict Disease, so as not to overlap with Ashe’s Stink Bomb changes in SFF Mode.
Measures:
Measures have had their Charge Times decreased from 32 to 24 to make them even better at buffing allies quickly.
Hand-Bombs:
Fumarole now grants +20 VIT, ultimately increasing its own damage and helping its wearer inflict and resist debuffs.
Tumulus now has Boost: Water, allowing Aqua Bombs to become more powerful, as well as aiding with boosting Aqua/Bio/Scourge for a potential subjob in TZA Jobs Mode.
Caldera now has Boost: Fire, allowing Castellanos to become more powerful as well as Fire/Fira/Firaga/Ardor for a potential subjob in TZA Jobs Mode.
Volcano’s Charge Time has been decreased from 27 to 24, making it ideal for quickly firing off bombs to debuff enemies.
Makara’s ATK has been increased from 96 to 105, making it the most powerful Hand-Bomb option in terms of sheer potential damage.
Ammo:
Lead Bolts now have a 10% chance of inflicting Disable.
Time Bolts now have a 20% chance of inflicting Slow.
Black Bolts are now Dark Elemental.
Silent Shot’s rate of inflicting Silence has been decreased from 25% to 15%.

Bone Helm now halves the MP cost of the user’s spells at the cost of the user being Auto: Slow/Blind. This allows the wearer to become a much more efficient spellcaster, at the cost of not being able to rely on physical attacks and making their spells slower, making every spell have to count for more. Great for Uhlans and Time Battlemages. Knights can benefit from reduced MP costs for their Protect/Shell spells and high-end spells they may have access to as a subjob while using Souleater to bypass Blind’s accuracy penalty.
Magepower Shishak now grants +50 MP.
Body Armor:

Gaia Gear no longer provides Absorb: Earth as to avoid it doing too much at once and giving Gaia Hat a chance to shine.
Lordly Robes no longer provide a bonus to MAG in favor of being a more purely defense-themed robe.
Heavy Armor:
Bone Mail’s DEF has been reduced from 35 to 17 and it no longer grants a boost to STR.
Bone Mail now grants Boost: Dark at the cost of the user being Weak: All Elements. This allows Basch to boost the power of his Blood Sword (mid-game) or Deathbringer (late-game) at the cost of becoming a glass cannon, in true Dark Knight style. Likewise, for those playing TZA Job Mode, this allows Uhlans to make up for their low magicks by boosting their Dark/Darkra/Darkga spell damage to high levels, and allows for Knights to reap the same benefits as Basch in SFF Mode. This also allows Time Battlemages to boost their damage output with Black Bolts.
Demon Mail now grants Weak/Absorb: Dark, allowing the user to heal twice the amount of HP from Dark attacks.
Mirror Mail now provides +6 MAG, rather than +6 STR, perfect for bouncing spells off of oneself.
Grand Armor now also provides +10 VIT, allowing its wearer to become an ideal tank.
Accessory Edits:

- 1.3 Changelog:
-The Readme has been updated to reflect new credits and to remove/add some known bugs, and give instructions on how to uninstall the mod. An additional Readme has also been included to go over the Rebalanced 12 Jobs version of the mod. Some folks were wondering what other mods I've done as well, so I've included a page that links to some of my other projects.
-The PS2 License Board can now be used without issue.
-A version of the mod has been included that rebalances each of the 12 original jobs for TZA's dual job system. A Readme has been included with details on each of the jobs, and the old Tweaked 12 Jobs version is being phased out. No further updates will make changes to that version. However, if you want to switch over to the new Rebalanced 12 Jobs version, you would just need to use Cheat Engine to reset your LP and License choices and go from there. The Tweaked 12 Jobs version will no longer be included with future updates to reduce download size. Feedback is especially wanted for these changes, as this is the biggest change in 1.3, and I would love feedback from players who opt to use these newly rebalanced jobs.
-If using the Struggle for Freedom Boards, each character now gets an additional License as a bonus upon obtaining one of their Espers. This means they'll get an additional Gambit Slot and a bonus License. Each bonus License has been carefully chosen to best fit the character's canon roles as seen throughout the series, or was chosen in a way to increase the character's synergy with their Espers.
-Vaan gets Shields 3 (Golden Shield/Ice Shield/Flame Shield) through Adrammelech and Guns 5 (Spica/Antares) through Chaos, allowing him to evade tank a little better and swap Shields on the fly to help against Fire and Ice damage, while using mid-game Guns to pierce enemy Defense when Daggers/Ninja Blades aren't cutting it.
-Penelo gets Time Magick 1 (Slow/Immobilize) through Zalera and HP +435 through Ultima, allowing Penelo to have a slight array of survival debuffs at her disposal.
-Balthier gets Spellbound through Famfrit and Time Magick 5 (Stop/Bleed) through Cuchulainn, allowing him to better receive buffs through Famfrit and Stop enemies, allowing his slow Gun attacks to be slightly more useful.
-Fran gets Ether Lore through Mateus and Crossbows 3 (Hunting Crossbow/Penetrator Crossbow), allowing her to become slightly better at restoring MP and contribute to a party's DPS a little better against late-game elementally resistant enemies.
-Basch gets Green Magick 1 (Decoy/Oil) through Belias and Accessories 9 (Amber Armlet/Black Belt) through Hashmal, allowing him to better tank for the party while boosting Belias' damage and AI through Oil, and allowing him to continue his assault by becoming immune to Immobilize/Disable.
-Ashe gets White Magick 4 (Cura/Raise) through Exodus and Shell Shield through Zeromus, allowing her to act as more of a Red Mage with her additional spells as well as giving her some minor AoE healing, while allowing her to trade the Genji Shield's physical defenses with Shell Shield's magickal defenses.
-Demon Wall (Strong) now drops a Demonsbane.
-Lindbur Wolf now has the Assassin's Dagger as a Drop, rather than the Chopper found in prior versions.
-White Robes and Black Robes have been rebalanced and no longer boost elements, rather, White Robes focuses more on Resistance and Black Robes focuses more on Magick.
-Seitengrat's stats are no longer bugged.
-Kumbha now no longer ignores Licenses.
-Chirijiraden should now be properly stealable from Gabranth in the Pharos.
-Ardor has had a slight increase in power.

-For those starting a new game, Ashe now starts with a new weapon, the Hero's Blade. This weapon was originally Rasler's dummied out weapon, used by Ashe in promotional materials. It requires no License to use, and has 20 ATK, 5 EVD, 32 CT (same as other Swords).
-Larsa's Joyeuse and Reddas' Chirijiraden no longer hits Flying enemies.
-Larsa's Joyeuse is now usable by the player, bearing 40 ATK, 10 EVD, 10% Combo Rate, and 30 CT. Although it is technically a Sword, it uses the Mace damage formula and doesn't require a License. It can be stolen from Judge Bergan at Mt. Bur-Omisace.
-Chirijirdaen is now usable by the player, bearing 76 ATK, 5 EVD, 15% Combo Rate, and 32 CT. It doesn't require a License and can be stolen from Gabranth in the Pharos.
-Nightmare (Vossler's sword) is now usable by the player, bearing 30 ATK, 20 EVD, 5% Combo Rate, and 35 CT. It requires no License, and can be stolen from the (Spoiler) boss on the Dreadnaught Shiva.
