I have tried using different presets as well, no change either.
basically the issue is that if I have d3d9.dll installed in the game, it will not launch, it will start and immediately crash without ever displaying a launch screen.
You may be missing a requirement for ENB. The only ones I can think of would be Visual C++ redistributables. Do you have any other games that support ENB. Do those crash as well? Also, what OS are you using?
Visual C++ should be installed but I am not in a position currently to check, only other game I tried ENB for was FNV, it worked but I uninstalled it since it’s notoriously unstable. I’m also using Windows 10
Unfortunately, if ENB works on other DirectX9 games but not Far Cry 2, I cannot think of another solution. You may have to take your question to the ENB creator.
It should all be in the preset, let me know if your game looks different than what you see in the screenshots. It's unlikely, but maybe an update to ReShade or ENB changed the way the program is rendering my settings.
Under the Jungle Fever preset in the ReShade menu, which fx do you have active? none of them are ticked when I load in, I have to activate them each time.
Only mod I am using is Realism + Redux, by Boggalog
Your trees just look so nice and thick in the leaves, is it a mod?
That's weird, means it isn't working. You might have better luck installing ReShade 4.3.0 as that's what I used, but if you don't want to do that, here are the effects I used in the preset: AmbientLight, Curves, Tint, Tonemap, Vignette, FilmicPass, PerfectPerspective, Nightvision, Layer
Make sure that Night Vision actually works when you press "N", as that may also be broken in later versions of ReShade
I believe the only mod I was using when taking these screenshots was Far Cry 2 Redux, afaik it doesn't change the foliage of trees. Are you playing in DX9? I know grass is significantly more lush in DX9, but I'm not sure about trees.
Turn off perfect perspective and i think filmic pass, it should look normal then. Then, right click on Night Vision, Perfect Perspective, and Filmic Pass, and hotkey the key "N" to them. That should fix night-vision not working. If it still doesn't work, I'll reinstall Far Cry 2 after work and see what's going on.
Edit: Ah, you know what I did wrong, I provided the ReShade shaders in the file. Should not have done that. I'll do a fixed upload later, either today or tomorrow. Still, let me know if the instructions I provided above work or not. You are missing my custom layer for the night vision, but I'll put that in the fixed upload.
Edit: Binding nightvision to "N" did the trick! Without Layer, Perfect Perspective and Filmic Pass things look normal. I think that Redux + Realism mod is doing something to the trees being so sharp, so that's not the ReSahde doing it.
Yeah, Filmic Pass, Layer, and Perfect Perspective were meant to simulate night vision goggles, they were all supposed to activate with the push of "N". I'm uploading a newer version with new instructions on the front page now.
Edit: I booted up the game, installed it with ReShade 5.9.2, and everything worked correctly. Can you tell me exactly what your install process was?
Will download the update soon! And will use ReShade 5.9.2 from now.
Install process was as follows: (From a fresh install of the game)
- Download ENB for FarCry 2, just taking the d3d9.dll from the wrapper file and copy/pasting it into my bin folder
- Installed ReShade 4.3.0, download NO effects.
- Copied over the contents of your bin folder (from jungle fever) to my games bin file.
- Placed the 60fps IQ.cfg in "my games" folder
- Ran game, activated the desired fx filters in reshade.
I do notice some screen tearing at the lower end of the screen when I am moving, might be from combining your mod with redux + realism. Whenever I alt+tab i have to tick the fx filters i want active again.
Did you install all shaders when installing ReShade? You should be able to do this by clicking uncheck all and then check all at the shader installation screen.
If anyone stumbles upon this and you're having problems getting the Reshade to work. Change the dxgi.dll that Reshade creates to d3d11.dll. It worked for me. Great ENB+Reshade, really adds to the atmosphere.
It is working, at least for me, im using redux + and it shows amaizing :D. I only have one issue, on night, sunrise and sunset i cant see much, and the enemies have x-ray, how the night vision works? Tnx for the mod
I've downloaded everything twice and have the right version 4.3 of reshade, seems like only ENB shortcut keys are working. Night vision isn't working either and I can't seem to toggle reshade on and off, although the menu comes up when i press the home key as opposed to the end key. Any thoughts?
Well, night vision is optional, you're under no obligation to use it anyway
As far as the darker nights, you could forgo installing the ENB and only install the ReShade, but if you want the ENB, I'll take a look at it when I get the chance

Is this a known issue or am i missing something?

What ENB/ReShade settings are you using to get the screenshots you have showcased?

- Playing DX9
- Using Reshade 4.3.0.562 by crosire
- Pressing N does not activate nightvision

Look forward to the fix :D

When pressing "N" it activates the "levels fx" but there is no nightvision filter.
Tnx for the mod
