I'm looking to setup an XP wheel, and i want to save some slots by putting things that won't stack or have the same % of boost into the same key, is there a way to do that already or would that need to be implemented?
not sure which way it would work, find the first hit and move onto the next key or load the last result in the line it finds a matching item for. but, in the case it loads the last matched item, this would load Cranberry Juice into 12 when some is found, otherwise the Nuka would get loaded. This would open up the option to do something like "12": "","Nuka-Cola Cranberry","Cranberry Juice", Where if neither are found the slot is emptied, might be desired by some, otherwise you change a wheel 6 times over with a bunch of items you dont have and it just looks warped.
You can't, most buttons that I tested on controller are either binded to some action (place tent, slot item) or are disabled in radial menu.
You can use Left/Right on dpad to change selected loadout and press Start to equip it. Or you can bind keyboard hotkeys and use those even when you're playing on controller.
Have you considered updating the quickwheel UI so that the background is covered by a single texture to attempt to combat lag?
I noticed that when I open the map my FPS stabilizes, I assume the lag is caused by stuff happening in the background, so if you hide it so its not rendered (like with the map) it may alleviate the lag as well.
I have not, it doesn't pause the game when you open radial menu, as it does when you open map menu. So I doubt it would have any impact on performance.
Does the "delay" option exist for this mod, like in Invent O Matic Pipboy (Unofficial) Update?
I like to play FO76 on my big screen TV, sitting on the couch...it would be great to be able to do a config for Canned Coffee, like in the consume field for Invent O Matic Pipboy (Unofficial) Update:
This is an incredible mod! Thank you AGAIN for sharing it with everyone. I'm just kindof digging into the .json. It looks like I can set different load outs for different characters? I haven't figured that part out yet, but HOW COOL!
Yes, you can see example loadout in config file. Just list "character" or "account" names for any loadout you want to be character-specific. If you use only one account you can leave out "account", and just use "character" option.
Hi Could someone make a small tutorial e.g. on youtube or describe in detail from the basics how to use this mod? I am very new to FO so I do not really understand how to use it.
Then.... For this mod, You basically do the same thing, but you put the .json in your fallout76/data folder
When it comes to modding the .json, just do a bit of google searching. It would be a lot to explain here. however, if you look at the file, it'll become pretty clear. Good luck.
Don't use a mod manager until you fully understand how the managers work, and their quirks. Most of all before you have a firm grasp on using mods.
As the owner of this mod stated in the description, download notepadd++. It'll make viewing the json way easier.
is it possible to make it so that there is the default loadout where its just the original wheel where you can manually change stuff ingame? the loadouts are useful but i dont want to have to go into the Ini every time i wanna change my default wheel. Not sure how to do it.
Not exactly sure what you mean by default wheel. You can make another loadout, name it "Default" or something and set whichever items you want on it. If you mean empty wheel, unfortunately that can't be done through radial menu. It allows only slotting new items, not unslotting them.
I mean that the normal function of the wheel is you can manually change each slot ingame. I change my wheel slots frequently when I use them depending on what chems/food I have available and if I wanna switch up my daily weapons.
when I'm using this I cant change anything, I did try the default wheel suggestion but everytime I ran out of a food or wanted to change something in my default I had to change it in the ini.
wondering if its possible if I can have the vanilla wheel + the set wheels vanilla wheel - changeable ingame, custom wheel1 - change in ini, fixed in game custom wheel2 - change in ini, fixed in game etc etc
It should be changeable in game, so something is definitely wrong? Could you provide more info, which part of it fails? Pressing button to open inventory, selecting item in inventory, or slotting item? Are you on gamepad or keyboard?
i want to try this mod so very much, but im having difficulty getting it working properly due to my smooth brain. I think I've successfully edited RadialMenuLoadoutConfig.json and ive checked that it is valid, but then what do i do? i clicked save and tried to open my game, but the mod still had the default values. any help you can offer would be greatly appreciated
I have got things mostly working except for water. For some reason I can not get this to load Purified Water. I have tried several versions of what I have it listed in my inventory as, which is:
(H20) Purified
I have tried it with (H20), [H20], (Drink), [Drink] and with no tag. None have worked.
--EDIT--
I just noticed that my stimpacks are also not re-populating the radial menu
Never Mind, seems it was simple spelling errors that I was making over and over without noticing.
For armor and weapons you can use Invent O Matic Pipboy (Unofficial), or you can bind armor pieces with this mod to your radial menu slots. You can't emulate keyboard presses through interfaces, but you could use AutoHotKey in combination with that.
By "loadout" I meant the radial menu loadouts of this mod, not what my characters have equipped. What I was trying to ask is if it would be possible to implement something that would allow us to modify this mod's configuration file (specifically the radial menu loadouts) while in-game without editing the file directly.
