    Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Can the mod add tracking of food/chem buffs?

A: No.  It's unfortunate but Fallout 76 strongly separates different parts of the interface and what data modders have access to in each part.  The information for buffs that is visible in the Pipboy is not available to the HUD.

As of Feb 10, 2024, the mod currently has a small bug when used with Text Chat.  It will not disappear from the display when the Pip-Boy or
map is being displayed.  This should be fixed with an upcoming release of Text Chat.

Since your so kind, another request if possible: Display the name of your Perk Deck you have equipped, anyone who would use this mod will thank you for that! :)

On the when a public event starts, even if there was a sound played that would be nice.

If you mean the Perk Manager name for the current slot, that's a rather complex thing actually.  I'll discuss it with Keretus when I can, because it would definitely require me copying his code, it's not something simple enough for me to quickly write on my own.

The public event thing is something done by the other mod you mentioned before, right?  I've got quite a number of things in my to-do list.  I will get the compatibility working as soon as I can.

Whatever you do or whatever isn't possible, all good my man.

The other mod and your mod conflict, I shared the file below.

Would it be possible to add it so you can display the current player count of the world? I know the Unimap mod shows it so I would assume you could.

I'll check, but it's very likely that it is only available in the map interface and not the HUD.

First thanks for the mod, been using it since I've been back and you improved on it several times since.

One thing in the game I would like to be clearer is when a Public Event starts and hold it longer so I can't miss it, there is a mod called:
    Event Notifications

But these two mods use the same file hubmenu.swf and I don't know how to edit/merge from there.

If you could consider adding Event Notifications to yours or a way to make both compatible, that would be super cool and appreciative.

That's certainly possible.  I am in the middle of some major changes to the code, so it'll probably be a few weeks though.

This is fantastic and thank you for making it.

Only thing really that would be nice is some more visual customization options -- like background width, getting two stats on same line, giving certain stats or weight etc its own size.

      You're welcome.

I'll keep these ideas in mind as I add more features.

Has anyone any idea why changing the settings in the config file doesn't change anything?

Make sure that StatsMeter.ini is in the data folder with the .ba2 file.  Also, are you on Steam or Microsoft store?

I downloaded the mod today and am having the same problem, i update the StatsMeter.ini file but nothing changes.

Running the steam version and have tried putting the ini file in the following locations with no luck.
Steam Library\steamapps\common\Fallout76\Mods\Simple Stats Meter-2082-2-0-1712966669 (this was the defaul location of the file)
      Steam Library\steamapps\common\Fallout76\Data
      Documents\My Games\Fallout 76

Other mods I am running are.
      PRBallons
      Hair Tones Redux
      Fast Terminals
      PA HoloHUD
      RatMonkeyEasySorting

      Thank you.

      The correct location is
      Steam Library\steamapps\common\Fallout76\Data

It should be the same place as all the .ba2 files are (both original files and mods).  Make sure it's not going into a subdirectory.
Beyond that, there may not be much I can do.

Could it be because I used fallout 76 quick config, it seems to have renamed the the ba2 file to Simple Stats Meter-2082-2-0-17129666669.ba2?

edit: No that didn't work either, i renamed the file to StatsMeter.ba2 and its still not recognising the config file.

edit: Got it to work installing manually, seems installing via my mod manager prevents it from working.

I'm glad you got it working.  Which mod manager are you using?  I would like to investigate and see what it's doing wrong.

Most of the time, all I can do is reiterate the install instructions.  Make sure all 3 files from the zip are in Fallout76\Data and make sure that StatsMeter.ba2 is after any other HUD mods (aside from ChatMod.ba2) in the Fallout76Custom.ini line.

Are reputation values accessible from the HUD?  It would be super neat to have them listed.

Thanks for all the hard work!

Love the mod!!! is there anyway you could put a option to show the time. I know its small and seems stupid but it would help me out instead of tabing out

I thought it was in-game time not gonna lie. I always need to check in-game time on Pip-Boy to keep track on Night Person while in West-Tek with no indicator like sky. dtim can you put that option as well?

In-game time.  Right.  I'll check it out, but I'll warn you in advance that since this is something in the Pipboy, it's fairly likely that I can't read it in this mod.

Mod 100% does what it says on the tin. I love it, can't live without it.
Also just a note: If you can't get INI File changes to be acknowledged by the mod, you have most likely installed it with an INI CONFIG EDITOR. For some reason this is causing a lot of problems with mods (UniMap, this one, DPS Meter, loads of others) regarding their config files.

Just install it manually, keep all the original file names, it'll work fine.

Would be cooler instead of showing the currencies (caps, gold, scrip, etc.) if it was showing what remain from the daily limits. So I would now if I did hit the scrip limit for today or not, also if I did claim today's bonus stamps etc.

An interesting idea.  I'll look into it but I definitely can't promise anything.  There are severe limits to modding in Fallout 76.

I have now looked into this.  The only time I can get those numbers is when you interact with a vendor.  So the mod wouldn't know anything until you interacted but then it could remember how much caps, gold, or scrip there was still available (until you left the server/game).  If you think that would be useful to you, I'll add it.

Edit: To know all three numbers, you would need to interact with a gold press, scrip machine, and a regular vendor.

Before the separate windows update, now I'm thinking about another idea: Horizontal Window!
I always used these kind of stat/dps addons on ESO and placed them right above the compass on top of screen. This can also be placed below the 76's compass. So I can have more stats on screen without completely blocking my view lol.

Also would be cool if data can be collected from the game to have reports on txt, then it can be (re)stored to show trackable daily currencies after session change, without interacting with related machines/vendors again. This would probably require separating different characters' data to show correct ones, and reset them at daily reset times.

Tracking stats over different sessions will take quite a bit more work but I'll keep it in mind.
      Horizontal windows could be done.

Thank you dtim you're the best! Can't really wait for your upcoming features, your mods making 76's UI/UX a true MMO. ^^
