As we were getting multiple reports of issues arising from not downloading the latest versions of the mod and not following the installation instructions, I'd like to remind everyone of what I already wrote right at the beginning of our mod's description (and even color-coded for better visibility right away):
Please follow the installation instructions carefully and install the latest version of the mod before reporting any issues. Ignoring that will only lead to issues on your end.
As of the Nuka World game's update the engine seems to handle materials differently and for now the game glitches out not showing snowflakes with shadow quality set lower than ultra. As a temporary workaround it's recommended to set shadows to ultra while we're figuring out a fix for that.
Besides that, please make sure your load order is right. It's important to put mod's filenames in your ini in the order I described in the description. Failing to follow the instructions step by step will only lead to issues on your end with something not working as intended or at all.
Well, the laptop version of the videocard is usually weaker than its desktop counterpart, and the performance wasn't all that ideal 100% of the time on my older desktop with an RTX3070, sometimes I still had fps drops down to about 45 frames. I'm not surprised it might be tanking on a mobile RTX3060 in a quite unoptimized game like this.
You can still try to run the mod without the snowfall addition, just with the main mod's file. It shouldn't be all that much different from vanilla game's performance then.
I'm not too keen on the blue Ultracite crystals that this mod gives Scorched, is there a specific ba2 that I can omit that removes just that, or is it too deeply integrated into the mod?
It's an easy change, and by the way it is already a part of the update I'm working on. Can't give you ETA on that for now, but stay tuned, I'll release it eventually.
First: No, I still find ours more subtle and better-looking overall. Bethesda's variation doesn't even use complex physics and all snowflakes fall straight down, while our snowfall behaves more erratic and realistic.
Second: Their implementation uses standard in-game weather system which we just can't use without full modding support. No plugins and no Creation Kit means no weather editing in the game where editing the main .esm file directly is a bannable offense. So our solution is more interesting technically, as we had to overcome that limitation to create our own take on snowfall. And it is completely safe to use for our downloaders.
I love this mod but some parts of it doesn't work for me. 95% of world has changed as you intended but some parts are displayed as pure glowing purple texture. I checked the load order of the mod and DATA folders whether I missed some files or something but everything was correct. Should I try redownloading the mod?
I didn't download Main menu replacer / Reshades. I downloaded and applied everything else.
I'm sorry but I don't know how to upload image to Nexus, so I uploaded it on one of my native website. Could you please check it out? Here's the link.
Hi! From what I see on your screens, something in your load order overrides my mod's files (the ground and trees/plants should be covered in snow, the landscape never looks that dark with my mod), looks like a mistake in your ini file. (Or maybe you just haven't extracted the mod files properly into the data folder?). All filenames of the archives from this mod should be at the end of your custom ini strings so that nothing would override them.
Please doublecheck if everything is extracted into the Data folder correctly and copy/paste your fallout76custom.ini contents of the [Archive] section here so we could figure out what causes the issue.
if your on game pass you have to use a mod manager called fallout 76 quick configuration. here is a link to how to set it up if you're having the same issues as me. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HUa3m7UStxI&t=39s
I can't say for sure, never tried to run it on anything else other than the steam version. If other texture mods do work on the gamepass version, than this one will as well.
I'm absolutely in love with this mod but by any chance in a future update to this mod could you add like snowy fog when a rad storm is happening i think it would be a really cool addition. :)
enjoying the mod so far but wanted to know if theres a video of the animated flora with snowflakes dunno what to look for and seems to effect game performance for my pc ;w;
The animated flora is a resource-intensive add-on that will definitely lead to a performance dip on lower/mid-end machines. Of course it won't really affect immersion if you'll turn it off, but it still looks nicer with it :D Uinfortunately for now I don't really have time to make a video demonstration of it, but I'll take it in consideration. Thanks for suggestion!
i have other mods installed too and my pc specs are a 3070 ,16gb of ram and run game on an ssd but probably have too many mods installed tho will wait for video as i couldnt find any snowflakes or flora based on description thank you again for making my game more cozy with snow ;w;
On my previous machine with core i7 6700 and rtx3070 I was running a crap-ton of mods I (and a lot of other people) made, and my mods were mainly the resource-intensive ones with all 4k textures I created. The game ran fine at 2560*1600 mostly @50-60fps , but then I upgraded to core i9-12900 and an rtx 4070ti, now it's constant 60fps no matter what I install (well, except some of those mods that try to change all textures in game to "higher quality" ones, which doesn't really make the overall picture all that better at a price of a hefty performance drop/stuttering. This game is just not optimized to run that many 4k textures)
To see what we mean by animated flora, just go to Aaronholt homestead to that corn field. You'll see corn stalk leaves moving in the wind. Cranberry bushes too, and these ones have also got tiny snowflakes flying off of them. Collectable Hubflowers and rhododendrons growing there sway in the wind as well. It applies to many other collectible flora specimens, these are just few examples you can clearly see in just one place. Here's how it looks: https://youtu.be/pLJ5mbDPO9s

If you're using the snowfall part of the mod, try to turn it off and see if the framerate improves. It is the part that could lead to fps drops.

The Corn and Wild Corn activators disappear after being harvested. The Corn Activator reappears after using the fert grenade.
I am "pretty certain" I didn't have that problem with 0.3.
Thanks!

And thank you for suggestion! I'll see if it's gonna be possible once I decide to update it.
