The "after" picture seems like the "before" to me. In the "after" picture, the white sheets are mixed with some gray, the red is changed to gray. Aren't those pictures named wrong?
Like i said on the main page. I have no idea why the game actually turn the grayscale in this case. WHile on the other hand, for vehicles using a grayscale of 1.0 it works like a bugfix.
The textures on the high tech buildings are weird. For example, somewhere colored textures are applied and somewhere monochrome is applied and it is colored with HitTechMetalPanel_01LGrad.DDS. When I was making textures for it, it gave me a headache.
The entire game is unfinished on every scale. Why add rainbow to a dark game? I dont get it. If you want to make it short, go for dark, grey, white colors, washed out everything. WIth rust (red) and green (nature) all over the place.
That's the problem, I tried it, but it looked very strange and bad. So I added a little rust. The "rainbow" as you wrote comes from real buildings, see Lustron house. The enameled steel should theoretically withstand everything, the ravages of time should not affect it under normal circumstances, it can withstand extremes.
I can recommend to watch the bunker and overall buildings at the east to north coast of france. there is no color left from buildings of ww2 and steel is totally rot, rusted.
The same principle, the same material. Those "skyscrapers" and houses are inspired by real life houses. Some have been standing, untouched by time, since 1947, which is 78 years, even now people live in them. That's reality.
