Fallsouls does that. It does however not prevent you from changing into an evening dress in the middle of combat. Disabling the pipboy entirely forces you to use hotkeys, like you only have the items you put in your pockets.
This is also less intrusive than fallsouls, it can't cause issues with menus
very right. Fallsouls comes with soooo many issues. This mod is the perfected holy grail for forced skilful gameplay.
...i have a question, is it active when they are "searching"(which is counted under as combat=1)? if so, i should tone down search time in my game to vanilla levels.
I'm using a vanilla function to disable the pipboy, allowing for a pipboy light would probably require a full rewrite. I'm looking into that rewrite, but the next version might be a while.
Because of the fallout 3-4 article spam of "how to use vats" i can't find a decent lore page to link you. Best i can remember is that normally when someone puts on a pip-boy it's permanently attached to their arm, it's not coming off until their dead and you hack it off. Something about that allows the pip-boy to jack into the person brain and gives them access to VATS the Vault-Tech Assisted Targeting System. While actived time seems to be frozen as the pip-boy and persons brain are processing information at the speed of light, allowing for a form of combat where they are able to target specific limbs. In Fo4 the new pip-boy is actually removable (lore wise not actually in game) so the Pip-Boys connection to the users mind is lessened resulting in a form of VATS where everything is slowed down instead of frozen. --Source
Time should be real time with a do-do character choice. Low INT, PER, AGI something like that. TIme should become slower the higher their stats and or when a certain Perk has been choosen. Completely removing it in combat does not make sense. Also it does not make sense to use a PipBoy at all the way FO3, 4 etc did it ... whatever maybe just add a special Lens to your Combat Helmet or to your eye instead to solve such issues instantly.
This is highly immersive. You can even think further to allow a Perk to work under certain conditions such as high hand-to-eye coordiantion, AGI and or PER and or to add a new Pip-Boy augment to the eye slot which in turn is tied the brain/body of the user.
How does it work with power armor? It should be available in Power Armor since its part of the entire PA UI. ;)
