I hope you have a blast with these windows, there's so many more to come! It took me a while to get them working but they do seem to be in order. I will be updating over the next few days as well with more to come. If you have any issues please let me know so I can fix them!
I'm having a weird issue. I just updated to 2.0, I got the patch as well, but all of the windows that I had built before with this are no longer there. Is this fixable somehow or do I need to just sigh and rebuild them up?
That definitely doesn't sound right at all...did you make sure the old version wasn't loaded as well? I'll run another check to be sure but that definitely shouldn't be happening!
I can also confirm that loading an older save doesn't fix this either, the pieces are still missing. Some of them are still there, but most of them are not. Re-enabling 1.0 has them appear.
Hmm which pieces? I will have another look in the morning and download the old version just in case the one I have is different somehow. Thanks for reporting.
All of them are the tall window variant, but the set pieces are all different. Mostly domestic hallway, the individual rooms, and the atrium tall windows.
Alright so I downloaded 1.0 from Nexus AND I loaded into the game, nothing vanished except the new windows. I then ran a compare with xEdit, the only difference between the two files is I added new records and to the old ones I added navmesh data. This means they will load into a save with them already there just fine.
Technically speaking there's no way they would disappear unless the formIDs were changed somehow. Say you cleaned it or asked it to renumber the IDs, or edited it in some other way, those IDs changing would cause this. Did you do something to the plugin? If so let me know what you did and I can help you fix it :).
I haven't done anything to the plugin itself- The only thing that would have changed between updating the mod is me clearing out my modlist and updating some of the "core" mods like UFO4P.
I have no idea what helped, but reinstalling it appeared to fix whatever issue. Maybe something else I did changed something but unsure. Thanks for your help tho!!
Yay awesome! Must have been something borky. Sometimes that happens to me with random mods too out of nowhere, a texture or mesh won't load right or a script doesn't work but reinstall and it's fine which is super confusing.
I am working on corners as we speak, will be a little while before I release but yes they are coming! Will also have a new set of windows with it as well, super psyched about it :D
What do you mean for base 4 residential rooms? In the screenshot you can see some of the residential rooms from base game. If you mean the SOE dwellings not currently because they use the overseers wall meshes. I can't make the top curve work for the tall windows and if doing the big windows I'd have to completely redo the whole mesh which is hard because there's a billion curves in those meshes and changing the curve and balance looks really bizarre in game. I am looking into it but these meshes are extremely awkward and huge to work with so it's going to take a while if I'm honest. These meshes have 8-24 parts each they're very very involved, and a lot of them are cut where you wouldn't expect so editing them becomes harder than expected.
Glass panes have to be snapped to the back of a piece before another piece is snapped to it. They can't be slotted in after building. This is a base game "feature" and I'm not sure if I can change it.
I find this interesting because I almost always build an entire room first, then add the windows. For variety in the past I have alternated "front" and "back" on some of the stock vault building walls, and could not say that I could tell the difference when snapping in windows. Maybe i have just been lucky?
Because I like what you have done I am going to give the other two mods a shot. I tend to merge mods to keep my list within the 254 esp limit, so I don't usually run other merges (because often they don't include one or two features I like). But... I'll just make my own edits if that is necessary. *the next gen "update" made a mess, and I wasn't able to undo... so starting over. :) Gotta love updates.
Hmm do you have any other mods that might affect snaps or building? If I can change this that would be brilliant! Also if you can show me a video that would rock, I can't seem to do it at all on base game. No worries if you can't though I will see if my anti mod friend can load up a game for me.
Yeah Next Gen was a nightmare, I wish they'd hurry up and fix it!
Alundra, can I ask what animations your using in those screenshots? Like the one with the woman lying down in this one could make a cool sniper pose: https://staticdelivery.nexusmods.com/mods/1151/images/91622/91622-1739844038-65715659.png
I honestly don't know, I basically went through pose packs and grabbed out what I wanted...and then I had to rename them to work with animated mannequins so there's no way I can know lol. Possibly part of the fashion poses.
You can use it on any gen, I play old gen. Just because it has the tag that it works on next gen doesn't mean it works on only next gen :).
I could possibly make one that doesn't require those mods, however, those mods are pretty great so I'm not sure why you wouldn't install them. VTWOR adds proper snapping to vault parts so you can snap lights and pieces together better, it's very light weight and helpful. V88E merges several community mods together so you have more vault parts to build with, more textures to choose from, and also forwards the VTWOR snap points onto those parts and fixes several vanilla issues. Technically you could drop VTWOR and be fine without it as there's no calls to it in the esp.
I am very close to my esp and ba2 limit, and I already have V88MRI and Ronin's Vault Pieces which have pretty much all I need. I really like what you have done here, but really don't want to have to install the other mods.
You might want to consider learning to ESLify, but keep backups and test first. Wyre Bash will also help you figure out what can be eslified...and there's a script in xEdit to find plugins that can be ESLified. Also my mod isn't BA2'd, it's loose files because it's so small, so you should be fine there :D. I will also continue to provide a loose option and will be adding one to my Pre War Clothing mod also :D.
Have already flagged as esl as many esps as possible. The ones left can't be flagged as they either exceed the number of records an esl can have, or would have to also modify scripts, rename too many sound files, etc, to match the new compacted records. And have also extracted a lot of archives to keep the number below the limit.
I appreciate your effort, though there's another reason for my reluctance to get V88 essentials, and that is the number of bugs reported. I know bug reports are not always reliable as they are often due to user error, load order issues, etc. But still. I rather not get any mods that appear buggy.
The alignment issues are likely a mod conflict because I haven't seen it (payed with almost 1k hours with this mod). The missing menu is likely a mod conflict. Lighting snap reports are likely a mod conflict they even say it worked fine before installing another mod. Navmesh stuff is tricky and they will be fixing that, if not I will provide a temp patch here :).
SethNorris23 is also actively developing, he wants feedback on all issues to make his mod more polished so as far as concerns go that one is low risk. You don't technically need VTWOR but it would be nice if you downloaded and endorsed it because you'll be benefiting from that authors work in my mod :D.
Ok, I will give it a try. Snap points and alignment are not really a big issue as far as I am concerned, as you can reposition anything with the console. The navmesh issue is perhaps the only thing I would have a problem with.
EDIT Took me a while to get around to testing your mod and the required plugins, given I had quite a large number of mods I wanted to test. So far have had no issues with any (even after flagging them all as esl), and your large windows look great. Just had a small request if you have any future updates planned. Could you make some corner pieces, please. Cheers!

Also, are corner sets coming?

As for the residential rooms I totally overlooked them in the screenshots. Thank you though!
