GREASIEST OF SPOONS

It's retro. It's grungy. Cram is a staple of their menu. Who says this place isn't lore friendly? If Vault 33 dwellers are still eating Jell-O cake after 200 years, who's to say the surface dwellers of the Commonwealth can't whip up an occasional burger basket and strawberry shake? Based on a cafe in my hometown where I never met a pizzaburger I didn't thoroughly enjoy, this diner set starts with the basic themes of the typical wasteland restaurant and turns the dials up to eleven.

WHAT THIS MOD CONTAINS

  • Retro themed building shell based on 50s era diners in the US.
  • Four assignable work stations for you settlers. A main counter/cashier stand where you can order takeout items. A flat grill and fry station that produces 12 food. A range/broiler station that produces 12 food. A dish station, just for the hell of it.
  • Shelving, a cooler and a display case which spawn random clutter when placed.
  • Seven snappable counter pieces which can be combined in unlimited configurations.
  • Working retro style diner jukebox, with satellite speakers.
  • Booths configured for both two-top and four-top seating, along with stools which snap into slots along counter pieces, which...which...spawn over two dozen unique dining animations. Booths feature 11 animations, stools 17. Of course some of the animations are re-used, but there are 28 unique food and beverage items.
  • Working coffee maker and shake machine.
  • Utility table and warming table.
  • Over two dozen unique items in cashier's barter menu. Most are food items with varying effects and boosts.
  • Several clutter objects that can be placed around the diner, including dummy jukebox shells and condiment caddies that snap into slots on booth tables.

ITEMS OF NOTE

  • Booths and stools found inside the diner set menu will spawn random animation markers when placed. Dedicated versions of each booth/stool animation can be found under Yufarley Collection > Furniture > Seating.
  • Cashier and cooks work 24 hours. Reason is two fold. First, settlers and wandering random visitors can and do stop in for a bite in the wee morning hours, so it makes sense that it's an all-night diner. Plus, settlers will flock to the diner before work hours, often before kitchen staff were showing up, so for realism sake, the kitchen staff never gets a break. So, those were actually two reasons, but a third reason is kitchen staff would often sneak off to the roadhouse to knock back a few during works hours. That's not a good look.
  • As with the Dance-ola jukebox in the base mod, all jukebox songs included in this mod were taken from Archive.org, where they are all registered as Public Domain.
  • Unlike other structures in my various sets, the diner shell does NOT have any snap points for an electrical box. There really wasn't any need to include them. Other than the diner marquee, there aren't many other items in the set that require power. Place a few radiating power conduits on the roof to power any vanilla lights used inside diner.
  • Two-top booths need to be placed properly. In order for NPCs to have access to animation markers and snappable table clutter to display properly, booths must be place with correct side towards walls. To aide in proper placement, I included a small red sign at edge of table that points toward wall.
