I'm curious now: what is "Brushstoke" in Russian?
Answering to your question, if we talking about literal translation, brushstroke such as brush stroke is "Мазок кисти". But considering the context, we talk about crazy murderer and it is blade, not brush. So I decided to call it "Последний Штрих" in translation, it's like "Last Touch" or "Final Touch" in English. It's more sounds like something we can use for knife or blade, and it reflects the cause of existing of this weapon. It was used by Pickman to kill his victims and can be used by the player to kill his enemies. Also, as brushstroke it explains Pickman's love to painting.
It's always difficult to translate the names of objects because u need to understand the context and do adaptation for text.
For example, "Jet" in our official localization is "Винт", and reverse literal translation is "Screw" or "Bolt" :D
And yeah i've learned not to trust machine translation, lol
