About this mod
Replaces the generic "Pickman's Blade" with a unique model, texture, and proper name befitting Pickman's artistry, and buffs its damage. A lot.

This mod is entirely standalone and has no requirements other than the base game.
- Unique model
- Unique texture based on Pickman's artwork
- Unique name (which ngl i'm rather proud of)
- Improved damage
- No upgrades needed; it has the stacking-bleed Wounding legendary and is already (far) superior to a Combat Knife with upgraded blades.
- Works with Classic Holstered Weapons
- Also fixes a silly Vanilla error in the Bleed effect (details in Posts)
VERSION 2.0 is an ESL-Flagged ESP!
Changing from the esp to the esl-flagged version will make any existing blades disappear, but you probably had to use the console anyway since Bethesda spawns Pickman's Blade at game start, so see instructions below. In a new game, of course, it's fine.
This is also loose files since everyone's up to their eyebrows in archives already in 2024.
And if you like what you see, do me a solid and hit that "Endorse" button, eh?
USAGE: (read dis stuff)
This will work best in a NEW game. Bethesda made is so in an existing game the Vanilla knife is probably already in the safe; but see below!
IF YOU'VE ALREADY DONE THE QUEST, OR PICKMAN'S SAFE HAD THE VANILLA KNIFE, OR YOU'RE FEELING LAZY,
Here's how to spawn the weapon step by step:
Note that you can copy and paste all the "code" commands below, but REMEMBER TO REPLACE THE XXs WITH THE NUMBERS YOU FIND!
Hit the Tilde, the squiggly line and backquote below the ESC key, to open the console
In the console, type
help brushstroke 4 WEAP
You should only get one result. The number will be a 8-character hex
XXXXXXXX
where XXXXXXXX is going to be different for everyone.
Make sure to look carefully! The letter B can look like the number 8, etc.
Then type
player.additem XXXXXXXX
where the Xs are, of course, your unique characters you just discovered.
Great! A base version of Brushstoke is now in your inventory - but it is not Legendary.
Now we fix that.
Go somewhere flat and clear, and drop Brushstroke on the ground.
Target the knife and HOLD the "E" key (or whatever your Interact key is).
You should now be holding it in midair.
Open the console again, and type
GetPlayerGrabbedRef
and hit ENTER. (Case does not matter in the console, but it's easier to see this way.)
This will give you the FormID of the weapon you're holding.
Still in the console, type
XXXXXXXX.amod 1E7C20
where of course the Xs are the FormID you just discovered.
Done! You now have the Legendary Brushstroke as it would have spawned in Pickman's Safe
if Beth didn't insist on doing silly things.
This is an update, and replacement for, my previous Unique Pickman's mod, which was based on Mike Moore's Bowie Knives. Bowie Knives is no longer needed (but it's still a pretty cool mod, check it out).
