There is a short quest that guides you to California when you reach a configurable level. The required level can be set in the MCM. The quest is named "Destiny Manifest".

ESL-FLAGGED ESM | NEW GAME OR FRESH INSTALLATION OF VAULT 13 IS RECOMMENDED

BREAKDOWN
You can travel between worldspaces at will via Vertibird, after you finish the quick introduction quest for the mod.
|
This patch makes V13's demo far more compatible with normal Fallout 4 mods, though some minor patching may still be needed in some places. You can double check your mods in xEdit, and are free to upload patches for anything that you might find.
|
I've playtested this mod quite a bit, but don't hesitate to report issues with Westward Bound.
However, Vault 13 quest issues or bugs should still be directed to the devs of the main project on their modpage.

Have fun!

INSTALLATION
MO2 is highly, highly recommended for this, along with The Midnight Ride guide as a base.

I do not recommend installing this on a save that has already had the Fallout Vault 13 Demo installed. However, installing the demo and this mod at the same time should work much better, as this is functionally a DLC.

Fallout Vault 13 - Demo states that it requires a downgraded game on the original page.
If the V13 team is open to it, I can and will update this patch to work on either version of the game.
If you would like a more detailed downgrading guide, follow The Midnight Ride.
|
You can downgrade your game in just a few minutes by using these mods. You can keep the free NG-CC content if you follow these steps.

Creation Club Content (Including the free NG content) works with Westward Bound.

WESTWARD BOUND INSTALLATION
!!! Ensure that you have downloaded all requirements before beginning !!!

1. Download and install Fallout Vault 13 - Demo in MO2
.

2. Move "Fallout Vault 13 - Demo" near the beginning of your load order in the LEFT PANE of MO2. Ensure that it is placed AFTER the vanilla/DLC/CC files in MO2, and BEFORE most other mods.

3. Move "Westward Bound" near the beginning of your load order in the LEFT PANE of MO2. Ensure that it is placed directly AFTER "Fallout Vault 13 - Demo".
Both of these mods are .esm's, so just ensure that they are loading near the top in the RIGHT PANE with other esm's.

4. Copy the INI TWEAKS from the bottom of the Fallout Vault 13 - Demo modpage.
Open the .ini editor in MO2 (puzzle-piece icon at the top of MO2)
Open Fallout4Custom.ini, and replace the [Archive] section with V13's ini tweaks.
If you do not have an [Archive] section in Fallout4Custom.ini, simply paste the tweaks at the top of the .ini.

5. Open your installation of "Fallout Vault 13 - Demo" in MO2 or File Explorer.
Hide or delete the "F4SE", "PBT", "PRKF", "MCM", "XDI", and "Video" folders in "Fallout Vault 13 - Demo".
Hide or delete the "FalloutVault13 - Interface" BA2 File in "Fallout Vault 13 - Demo".

That's it! You can now play Fallout 4 as normal, and visit California to play Vault 13 whenever you please, like any other DLC!
