while looking up on FO4Edit, I found leveled item list on your mod, found out leveled list entry references are all "[FE09AC93] < Error: Could not be resolved >". I downloaded vanilla ammo version. Seems like something went wrong in selecting reference item. I just put "00DakRiotShotgun "Riot Shotgun" [WEAP:FE099C93]" for reference. Hope it works.
You may have installed the wrong version. Are you using the the ESP version of my mod with the ESL (or visa versa) version of the riot shotgun mod? Because that is what happens when you do that.
Make sure that the version of my mod matches the plugin type of the original mod. ESP with ESP, or ESL with ESL.
I'm having this exact same issue. Vanilla .esp with Vanilla .esp. F04Edit won't let me replace the reference for some reason, so I can't patch it out myself.
don't work for me i don't know why when i try to use my cheat terminal mod to add combat shotgun to my inventory nothing happen but all the other replacer for other weapons work perfectly fine they are added to my inventory with the replacer mesh etc.
This mod doesn't directly replace the combat shotgun weapon, it just replaces its references in the leveled lists. So anywhere a combat shotgun would spawn, a riot shotgun will spawn instead. If you install it mid-playthrough, it will take a few ingame days or weeks for the new shotguns to start appearing, and any pre-existing combat shotguns will remain as they are. So I recommend starting a new game.
As for the cheat terminal I'm guessing you mean this mod. I don't recommend using it as the built-in dev console can do everything that mod does without all the opportunities for incompatibilities. If you want to spawn it via the console, you can do it like so:
Press the "tilde" key (~) Type [Help "Combat Shotgun" 4 weap] (Without the square brackets - this will show you the weapon's ID) then type [Player.additem xxxxx 1] (Typing the item's ID in place of the Xs - this will add it to your inventory)
My game is currently broken due to NG update chicanery. I recommend you try to create it for yourself - it's quite easy. All it takes is a little bit of XEdit knowledge (or a willingness to experiment) and you can download this file to copy my implementation.
Hello! Need a bit of help. I used the Riot Shotgun Vanilla + Riot Shotgun Replacer ESP vanilla but I was still able to loot a combat shotgun and the combat shotgun stored in my workshop is unchanged?
Yes. This mod does not touch the WEAP record of the combat shotgun, so any combat shotguns that already exist in your game will not be affected. What this mod DOES do is alter the leveled item and formid list records so that anywhere a combat shotgun would spawn, a riot shotgun will spawn instead. If you want to start seeing riot shotguns, you'll have to wait a few in-game days for them to spawn in and scrap/delete any combat shotguns you come across.
For this reason, I would recommend installing this mod for a new game.
If you want the combat shotgun well and truly nuked from your game, you could instead download one of the files in the "old files" section, as they completely replace the WEAP record. I wouldn't recommend it as it has low compatibility and may lead to crashes or bugs, but it is there.
Hi, I use the "DakRiotShotgunVanilla.esp" for the vanilla shotgun shell (didn't want to install several others mods for the 20gauge and ESL) from the original mod and your file ("DakRiotShotgunReplacer.esp") works only with "DakRiotShotgun.esp".
Could you please make another ESP Replacer for "DakRiotShotgunVanilla.esp" ?
I tried the "Riot Shotgun Replacer - vanilla" from the old files section with "DakRiotShotgun.esp". Vortex notifies me with a missing Master plugin called "Munitions - An Ammo Expansion.esl" and ingame, the vanilla shotgun haven't been replaced by the riot shotgun.
You could look into Whiskey Tango Fawkes Vanilla Uniques https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/71445 I couldn't make it work for replacing uniques but it does provably work if you can figure it out. (And if you use it and make it work, PM me how because I've been bashing my head against that particular brick wall for a few months now)
Why did you create this as a plugin replacer for the original mod's plugin instead of using overrides? IMO that has only downsides (unnecessary incompatibility with other mods that rely on the Riot Shotgun's original plugin state, necessity to update the plugin with every update to the original mod, etc.) while there is not a single upside.
Your plugin contains ITMs in the LVLI section, leading to unnecessary conflicts with other mods for no reason. You should remove them until you want to make actual use of them.
Replacing a weapon by overriding the original vanilla WEAP form is probably the worst way to achieve the replacement as that breaks many other mods that rely on the vanilla WEAP forms in their original state. Instead, the recommended way of achieving that is to modify/replace forms that just reference the vanilla WEAP form in question and its attachments (LVLI, FLST, QUST, OMOD, etc.). That is more work shot-term but way less long-term and also way more compatible.

Your patch should work, though.
I just removed the esl flag, so it should work now. This does mean it'll take up a plugin slot, though.
go download the 2.3 versions of the vanilla files if you were previously using the 2.1 or 2.2 versions.

Try this and tell me how it goes.

Could you please make another ESP Replacer for "DakRiotShotgunVanilla.esp" ?
I didn't realise the vanilla version had a different file name for the esp, I'll whip up a new file for that and upload it soon.
Itms were are an oopsie. I was experiementing with how to get the uniques to work and forgot to remove them afterwards.
I'll probably redo the mod soon enough. Thanks for the feedback!
