Extremely weird source/destination method used by the Texture Resizer but I eventually figured it out

EDIT:  Seemed to work and I resized them to 2k, but the game is still treating them like 1k (black face bugging)

Same thing for me.  Upscaling on Deluxe Makeup worked as described, but it causes black face on character creation screen.  The textures were definitely upscaled (as indicated by their size) but doesn't work in game for some reason.

Update... I think the upscaling is working.  However, there is a conflict with High Poly Redux.  You can't have both.  HPR has a texture compatibility patch that helps in the character creation screen but once in-game you still get dark face.

Kyndra72... I failed to mention, I really like your preset!  Thank you!  It still looks good even without Deluxe Makeup.

Here are the mods I am using:

    Caliente's Beautiful Bodies Enhancer - v5.6.3 - Hotfix
CBBE Ida Body Texture - 6-1-1
    LooksMenu v1-7-0-1
Real HD Faces Main File 1-0
    Kir's Freckles 2K Rescale 1-0
    Appealing Moles - Extra Moles - 2K-2-01
    LooksMenu Customization Compendium 2K ba2
(I put the resized deLuxe Makeup 2k textures here)
Extended Facial Sculpting - Now with 90% Less Beta - 0-5
Female Neck Tweaks Editor's Choice v2

^ Everything is already 2K and apart from deLuxe makeup they all work fine no face bugs

When I follow your upscaling instructions for deLuxe Makeup, the FO4 Image Resizer places the texture files in folder C, but when I go in-game, I see broken brown textures on the female player character. I've Ran the program 3 times now to the same effect, and re-read the instructions, but I'm not sure if there's an incompatibility or if it's actually doing anything to the textures maybe if it's just copying them from folder A to folder C. Is it possible the next-gen update broke this method?

Ran the Resizer again it does make the textures larger 512 KB before for 1 DDS and after 2.66 MB

    Exact instructions I followed :

    1. Download the Fallout 4 Texture Resizer here and extract it into a folder wherever you'd like.
    2. Download deLuxe Makeup manually here (Both files.)
    3. Create a folder on the Desktop named "a"
    4. Inside folder "a" create a folder named "b"
    5. Open the deLuxe Makeup zip files you downloaded in Step 2, navigate to "Textures/Actors/Character/Character Assets/TintMasks/" in each zip file and extract all of the *.DDS files to folder "b" on your Desktop you made in Step 4.
    6. Create a folder on the Desktop named "c"
    7. Open Fallout 4 - Image Resizer.exe from the folder you extracted the Fallout 4 Texture Resizer to in Step 1.
    8. Click on the Source Dir button in the top left, and navigate to folder "a" (not "b"!) and click on it, then click OK.
    9. Click on the Destination button in the bottom left, and navigate to folder "c" and click on it, then click OK.
    10. In the drop down boxes on the left side of the window under Old Resolution, find 1024 x 1024 and check the box next to them on the left.
    11. In the drop down boxes on the right side of the window under New Resolution, find 1024 x 1024 and set both boxes to 2048.
    12. Click on the Begin button in the bottom right, and wait for a moment until it finishes.
    13. Go to folder "c" on your Desktop, which will now contain a folder "b"
    14. In folder "b" right-click on the Textures folder and click Compress to ZIP file, name it "2k deLuxe Makeup"
    15. Install like you would any other mod.

I downloaded all of those mods and tested it in-game, and I was unable to replicate your issue. However, I have updated the description as well as the requirements of this mod to be clearer and adjust a few things that were unnecessary, so I would highly recommend re-reading it and adjusting your mods accordingly. Here are a few other things that may help:

      1. Are you using the HD Texture Pack DLC? If so, I highly recommend you uninstall it, as it is considered ineffective as it doesn't actually affect much in-game and takes up a considerable amount of space on your hard drive, not to mention its numerous bugs.

      2. Ensure you are using the Real HD Face Textures 2K Main file, Textures file, and the Missing Files file.

      3. Adjust your mod installation order (left-pane in MO2) to:

      LooksMenu
      Caliente's Beautiful Bodies Enhancer -CBBE-
      2K LooksMenu Customization Compendium ba2
      Real HD Face Textures 2k
      CBBE Ida Body Texture
      Appealing Moles 2K
      Kirs freckles 2K
deluxe Makeup (converted using instructions to 2K)
Extended Facial Sculpting - now with 90 percent less beta
      Female Neck Tweaks
      Dahlia Rose LooksMenu Preset

      4. Adjust your plugin load order (right-pane in MO2) to:
      CBBE.esp
      LooksMenu.esp
      LooksMenu Customization Compendium.esp

      5. I noticed that in the CBBE Ida Body Texture mod, the hand textures are 2K, but the body textures are in 4K. I tried to downscale them to 2K to no avail, but if you can manage it try that as a last-ditch effort. It may work, who knows, but it doesn't touch the face textures so I'm not entirely sure.

Please let me know if any of this works to fix your issue.

I am guessing this only resizes. So textures will look the same, si that correct? So if you want to have higher quality textures you will have to upscale them, correct?

The instructions are to upscale DeLuxe Makeup to 2k in order to work with Real HD Face Textures 2K, as without doing so you get a rusty-face bug. The textures look the same, but if you wanted them to be a higher resolution you'd have to download or upscale a higher resolution face texture mod and do the same for DeLuxe Makeup to match.

Yeah, seems like something is sideways with the 2K deLuxe Makeup conversion. I did a complete strip down of all my textures and then built it back up step-by-step, starting the game and checking my character, companions, and settlers for brown face after each step. Everything was fine until I got to the 2K deLuxe Makeup step. I tried it 3 times and followed the steps (which were extremely detailed and helpful) and got the new zip file. It installed fine but as soon as I'd load in, brown face for all female companions (Cait, Piper and Curie) and any female settlers (about 4 of them). Exiting out I'd uninstall it and everyone would revert back to normal. Nothing else texture-wise has been installed beyond CBBE, LooksMenu, LMCC (main and 2K files), the LMCC 2K ba2, Real HD Face Textures 2K, and Lovely Skin Complex (body and face done separately for, y'know, pubes). Everything up to that step is fine - the deLuxe Makeup conversion blows it up. Nothing else is touching textures.

Your mod list should look like this:

      (Broken link)

Any assistance is appreciated. Very nice mod btw. Gonna take a wild guess and assume it's the same order as the credits.
