Since the Next-Gen Update caused some major problems within the modding community, the plans for a cooperation with Start Me Up Redux are on hold for the time being, as the author of this mod has withdrawn from F4 modding for an indefinite period of time. This has led me to actively work on my mod again - hence a new update. However, I would like to point out that further update intervals may still be longer.
I also would like to point out that the current and future versions are not based on the Next-Gen Update - I have downgraded my game, and it works with both: simple downgraded files, as well as with a complete pre-NG download of the repository. As far as I can tell, this should not cause any major problems for people who are playing with the new update - but I cannot guarantee this, as I cannot judge it myself. Last but not least, I would like to thank you for the positive reception of my mod and hope that you continue to enjoy it.
No voice playing during dialoge, piper an codsworth , i have this at the end of my LO. maybe is caused by XDI, the Thuggysmurf mods or the mixed dialogue lenguage bug, thats the only things that i think it could be the culprid
Didn't work. I tried Wolfmark's Fix, and that didn't do it. Neither did Fu'z ro Doh. If it is XDI, then this really needs to be fixed, because this mod in unplayable in that case given how many people use XDI.
Are you f*#@ing kidding me?! That actually worked. How in the hell is THAT what was causing all of the issues? This game makes no sense. I went to Piper, had a chat, no issues. Dialogue plays fine. Thank you. @CaptainCrackHorse, you should sticky this post so people know. I know other's were having some of the same issues as me.
I wanted to know if it would be possible for you to make a additional plugin to make SMUR only have the Wasteland Start, to prevent people from choosing others paths/options.
do you know if this mod (or from the original) can suffer from silent vertibirds bug, like other quick start mods sometimes can? according to post on Simple Quick Start ,it can easily be fixed by adding this, along with filling the required property CSMQ101PlayerHouseInt.Remove() but i couldnt see that one in fo4edit. not encountered vertibirds yet, but i did suffer on that bug in the original mod once
In all honesty, this treatment is also needed for the Non-parent Vault Dweller start, as a separate mod, of course. (Of course, what they did Pre-War would also become up for grabs)
SMUR (and SMU before it) doesn't do a bad job making the Random Icecube's track, but I am sure it can be improved.
In all honesty, one reason Vanilla Railroading is so loathsome to many is that the Survivor never gets depicted as figuring out how long back Shaun's abduction was, when they have the damned date in their Pip-boy at all times.
Confession time, I suppose; The OTHER reason I want a version of this glory for the non-parental Vault Dweller is that Publick Occurrences Expanded has a version for the non-parental and I truly hate having to decide between a sustainable news pamphlet and a working plotline.
The interview with Piper keeps going in circles and keeps referring to your old life then it begins again. I'm playing the Wastelander (drifter) as well. I don't have any other mods that edit dialigue either except for XDI which doesn't really. Just thought I'd let you know.
@Piyesis - Just checked in-game and everything works as intended. New dialogue is in place and nothing keeps going in circles. Unfortunately I can't tell what's causing this issue on your side.
Out of curiosity, is the Sim Settlements 2 patch complete? I only ask because it would be odd to have the player character's motivation oscillate between parent and passerby. It'd be cool if it was but I'd understand if it's still early yet. Regardless, it's really impressive work!
I've gone through all main, side and radiant quests, plus searched for everything Vault 111 and Pre-War related in any way, but it's still a big mod, so there's a possibility that, somehow, you may encounter smaller things that don't fit right. But, I still appreciate if folks take that in consideration and tell me about it, so I can change it.
Currently, due to some strange error (Quest won't advance even if slightly touched), the only main quest I can't edit is "Hub of the Problem", in which Jake makes a statement about "Your Kid" - you could argue that he knows about your finding in Vault in 111 (using SMU and ADP), and refers to your search for the kidnapped child (If that's what you're after) like that. But I'll try to sort this out as well, once there's a possible solution to this specific quest.
just posting this here if anyone has issues with CTD when first approaching Diamond City. i thought i had a mod conflict but it turns out that if you run up to Piper too fast that will cause the crash. what i did was wait just beyond the guard near the gate and let her go through her dialogue with the intercom first. after she was done i slowly walked up to her and let her initiate conversation. hope this helps anyone having a problem there.

Go to England and if you see people addressing a female police officer, it's often "Mum". Call her mother and you'll get raised eyebrows... probably not considered contempt (maybe mommy). The character that's made to be an old style butler would have to to be commanded to be informal. in this case, why only toward the mistress(ma'am) but not the master(sir)? maybe people in the US call their father Sir if they were raised with military mentality.
tis interesting to me that Sir = knighted but the female equiv is a dame(lady) instead of madam(my lady)

The subtitles in-game are wrong but fine relative to the standard of bugs elsewhere. x_x Ma'am said like muhm often has a long aah sound but saying the word too frequently can lead to shortened vowels. all this talk of mothers... brain thought of this vid.

1) Delete the mod entirely. SMUR, too.
2) Reinstall Them, not overwriting the previous versions' fragments.
3) Do a new run.
