It seems that with all of the changes being done to the Nexus in 2025, they've added a text restriction of 5,000 characters to Posts, which is what I previously used to extensively talk about my major releases. So instead, I'm going to simply move all of those older updates to here. I've been planning to do this for a while anyway, do to the sheer size of that post making it very difficult to edit. So here we are.
YOU ARE EXCEPTIONAL v1.17o - THE EXOTIC ORIGINS UPDATE
Been quite a while since my last major update. I bet you all thought YAE was done, huh? Nope! I still have a lot left in the tank. In fact, weirdly enough, this year kind of invigorated me with a plethora of new ideas. You can tell by sheer volume of junk I stuffed into this update, but there's still mor... -

Note: If some of the information listed here doesn't seem to quite reflect in-game descriptions, it may be that this guide was updated early with information that won't be known until the next release of YAE. I try to update this page as often as I can, so I won't forget to do so later.
For quite some time now, people have been asking me to do an out-of-game full listing of every Perk provided by You Are Exceptional, for the purposes of quick searching and build design. I've been reluctant to start this, due to the sheer size of it all, but many month later, here we are. I'll do my best to cover everything and update this Article as time goes on, but only time will tell if I remember to do that. And in case your wondering, the name of this Article... -
This will be a rather long article, describing in full detail what each of my Skills do, along with any hidden mechanics that they have attached to them. This will include the reveal of "Passive Perks", which are Perks that are passively awarded to the Player upon reaching a certain key Ranks within a given Skill. All of the vanilla Fallout 4 Perks are still intact within my Mod, and I'm sure some people are curious to know how to earn them. Whether this is for requirements of some other mod, such as Loot Detector needing the "Scrapper" Perk (although I left that alone as a Player chosen ability through the menu, as normal) or for something more simple, such as the dreaded "Local Leader" Perk (which is hinted about in the Skill description, but if your here for this specifically, it's give...

Modding YAE 101: Creating a Patch
00.) FOREWORD
Since my release, there have been a lot of question of how to do this or that with YAE, and it has made me realize that despite so many people having access to xEdit, they do not quite seem to understand how to use it. Consider this a beginner's entry to using xEdit in general, where we will be using YAE as the main focus. I'll try to be as thorough and detailed as possible. Despite how it looks, xEdit really isn't that complicated, and all of this can be done in a short amount of time, once your more familiar with how the program is setup.
If you're already familiar with how to make your own patches in this way, then this Article could still apply to you. This is because we will be editing the base damage given by our weapon Skills. A slightly complicated... -
Modding YAE 102: Companion Compatibility
00.) FOREWORD
Consider this a continuation of the Article Modding YAE 101. Although, if you're already familiar with making patches with xEdit, then you can go ahead and skip that lesson. You should feel right at home here, although we will likely be doing things you haven't before with your patches, as YAE currently utilizes Companions in new interesting ways, compared to its "pre-v1.06x Era". So, if you're using a version of YAE that exists before that mod update was released, then I'm afraid this guide won't be of much use to you, as it adds the neccessary FormLists.
NOTE: While it was never in my intentions, if you are not thoroughly familiar with all of the vanilla Companions that are available in Fallout 4, examining the contents of YAE's Companion System via this ...
