Sadly the constructable radio does not appear to work on the VR port. Seems to be an issue with a lot of newly-created content, I haven't been able to get a lot of things to work on the VR port. The Vault-Tec Radio Attenuator, Institute Technology Overhaul, Institute EXO suit, etc. The mods load, the game loads, etc. but the mod-added assets are simply not there, as if the mod weren't installed. To be clear, Jetfuel Radio itself works great, but then again it's older content so that's par for the course.
Thank you for the feedback, I appreciate you taking the time to talk about it! Unfortunately there is little I can do for VR compatibility at the moment, as I simply lack the equipment.
That said, if anyone with a suitable setup is able to make the required modifications for this stuff to work properly under VR, I highly encourage them to do so and release it. The only stipulation I have with people working on this mod/patch is that the music files themselves aren't altered or re-uploaded in any way, as per the agreement between the original recording artists, CastleKeyGames (who has the exclusive permission to host the music file portion) and myself.
I will sticky this discussion so any interested modders can easily see it.
DinosaurGuy1997 has provided a cool optional addon that should allow you to construct radios for your settlement that play the station. You can find it under the optional downloads. Big thanks, DinosaurGuy1997!
The talented zerobandwidth has released a wonderful mod that will allow for an in-game method of resetting the radio should it stall for any reason. Please consider adding it to your load order and giving them a big thanks on their page should you find you need something like this! It can be found here: Vault-Tec Radio Attenuator (VaTeRaAt)
Note: I will be marking their mod in the "required files" section of the download, even though it's not actually a requirement but rather a strong recommendation.
I'm considering adding a craftable holotape to the game that's capable of restarting the radio station in the event that it still somehow goes silent. In the meantime, I've discovered that using the following console commands will restart the station should it fail:
As of version 1.1, I've added just about every failsafe I can currently think of to this patch in order to ensure that the radio station keeps playing no matter what.
For now I'm going to consider it complete for its intended purpose. However, I will be actively monitoring this page and I'm here to help. If you experience an issue with the Jetfuel Radio station while you're playing, please submit a bug report with as much detail as you can about the following:
Where were you/what were you doing in the game when the problem happened?
What other mods are in your load order? Of particular interest would be any other radio mods.
Thank you all for taking the time to check this out!
Thank you for the kind words! CastleKeyGames and the various artists involved in this production really add a lot to the game for me, and I'm glad that my caretaking has had some success in keeping it working for everyone.
I had this mod working fine for the past few playthroughs. I installed Sim Settlements 2 (all three chapters and the "ss2extended" plugin), started a NEW playthrough, and the radio doesn't work. I installed the radio attenuator, built it, turned off the radio, ran the attenuator, turned on the radio, and still wouldn't play. I tried the console commands startquest 00RadioJetfuelQuest and it still won't play the radio.
Hi, thanks for the comment, and I'm sorry you're having trouble with it. Would you mind posting a load order so I can see if I can help you out? Also, please note that it was recently discovered that the mod "Survival Options" conflicts with this and all other radio mods, so if you happen to be running that, please try to disable it and see if that solves the issue.
yes i have the original plus the hotfix and your mod, tried the radio tuner plus the start quest console command...nothing the station shows up, but is silent. i have tales from the commonwealth and atomic radio installed, but even disabling atomic radio and attempting the steps listed above seem to do nothing.
Wow, that sounds pretty serious. Would you mind listing your complete load order so I could have a look and try to pinpoint what might be causing it? Also, do other radio stations, including the vanilla ones work? Thank you!
im using mo2, is there anyway to copy and paste my load order to a file or soemthing so i can just pate it on here? theres no way im going to type them all out lol. atomic radio works as does all vanilla radios. sorry i cant seem to be able to copy and paste my load order.
I'm not sure as I don't use MO2. You should be able to find a plugins.txt file in your Fallout 4 folder in My Documents that will list all your running plugins. If you can't find that, maybe you could take a screenshot of the load order? Sorry this has been such a pain.
Could you try sending it to me via Nexus private messages? Failing that if you could try to upload it to an image hosting site like https://imgur.com/ that would be preferable. I'm sorry, I don't like giving my email out unless I absolutely have to. Thank you for understanding.
omg!!! i fixed it and several other mods not working correctly. it was "survival options". that just really sucks as i used that as a pretty integral part of my load order. ill have to try and find other work arounds. damn, thx for your patience and help your awsome.
I've heard lots of things about Survival Options causing scripting issues, I'm so glad you found the cause!
Thanks for letting me know about it. When I get a chance I'll update my description and list this as a known issue. I appreciate the information, and I hope you have fun!
Thanks for the console command. For my happens often that the radio gets silent again if I don’t listen for a while and get some update via SS2 radio. Dunno why this happen to 100% for me there but with the console command I can fix it.
I know you posted a mod without the need to use a console command, but I want to have my mod list small with SS2. So, I am glad you posted the console command to fix it.
Thank you for the feedback. In my further research it does seem like the radio issues in this game are a lot more complex than one would initially guess. As far as I can tell, the only surefire ways to work around them at this moment are via console commands or zerobandwidth's mod, and I'm glad the console command is working for you!
Do we know if there are still any conflicts with settlement mods? If so, maybe we could list them on the description page? Most notably, I'm using Sim Settlements 2.
Thanks for the question. None have been reported yet, and I haven't experienced anything in my playthroughs (I use SS2 and Tales from the Commonwealth every single play) but if you happen to experience anything please let me know and I'll have a look! Also, I will list any known issues that are reported to the description page, thank you for the suggestion.
Thank you so much for the love for Jetfuel Radio. Im super stoked. Idc that that music isn't lore friendly with this mod, it's just sooo good to listen to when I am chillin' and killin' ghouls :D
You're very welcome! Personally I think this being lore friendly is up to the observer. I remember when CastleKeyGames was originally working on this mod, he mentioned how weird it was that there hadn't seemed to be any musical genre development in-universe, at least as portrayed by the Bethesda games. I think it's reasonable to imagine that the people in this universe would have eventually experimented with music outside of the 50s-style pop and big band tunes we often hear in the games!
I'm glad you're enjoying this. The songs that the original author selected are so fun to listen to.
Yes. This is only a replacer for the .esp, you'll need to install the original mod first, and then have this .esp overwrite the one in that. :)
As far as the hotfix goes, I'm uncertain. I have them both installed, but I believe the hotfix was only really necessary for users of an earlier version of the original Jetfuel Radio. There's no harm in installing both though!
Just a heads up, you may want to update to the latest version I published. I added an extra failsafe to ensure the radio never goes silent. It should be safe to update on a game in progress, but a fresh start would probably be ideal if you're able to. :)
That's fantastic krixost, thank you for the helpful feedback! I'm looking at adding one more safeguard to this file at some point soon just to cover every base I can think of, but it's great to know it's working well so far.

Thank you for bringing Jetfuel into 2024!!!
Also, do make sure that you have the data files from the original Jetfuel Radio mod properly installed. My patch will not work without them.
